This is a place to buy donuts. That's all. It's not a place to hang out, and unless you're a fan of watery Dunkin-style coffee, avoid that too. But the donuts are pretty good and the price is reasonable. And I like that every time I come in he throws in something extra, like a few donut holes or an extra old fashioned. And they offer a true "baker's dozen": buy 12 get one free. I like that they're small - that is, appropriately-sized - too. No 800 calorie obscenities often encountered. There are a good variety of most of the standards, and apple and raspberry fritters which I really like. But get there early. If you come later in the day as I often too there are slim pickings. You won't find outrageous flavors like candied maple bacon, PB&J, or bone marrow here but that's ok by me.

Donuts had a bad oily aftertaste chocolate was not very good raspberry filling was great. That's the only thing good about the donut.

What a hidden gem (at least for me)! My wife and I found a "top 100 donut shops in the US" list and saw this place randomly placed in there... a Massachusetts shop on the list?! And it's not far from us?! Let's go! The donuts: Amazingly fresh, super light, and very flavorful. I was shocked when I tried the jelly donut in how amazing it was. We bought a dozen and everyone that had one was very impressed and wanted more. The pricing: Knowing many donut shops in the general area, I guesstimated how much a dozen assorted donuts would be. When I saw the prices was under half my estimation, I was blown away. They are ridiculously reasonably priced. All in all - This small business is BIG in flavor, service and in quality. We're definitely looking forward to heading back and grabbing more donuts!!

Still cranking out quality donuts after three years in the middle of nowhere. The donuts are a little smaller than most, but priced accordingly, so get extra to get both variety and a bargain. Honey Dipped: Light and lightly glazed, it's fluffy but leaning on the dry side. Keep reading to see my strategy for this. Boston Cream: Rounder and much thicker than most, it packs more filling than most, and has just enough extra golden crispness that it adds a beautiful contrast to the creamy interior. Pine Cone: Same donut dough, but arranged with a bunch of protrusions that grab the honey dip glaze a lot more effectively than the honey dipped donut. And because it's thicker, it's fluffier, bouncier, and more moist too. And because it's the same price as a donut and can be had in dozens or half dozen is just like a doughnut, it's the thing to get instead of honey dipped. Raspberry Bismarck: This is more of an elegant pastry, made with real whipped cream and a raspberry filling that's fresh tasting and had some crunch to it from the seeds. A premium item but a worthy occasional splurge. Twist: Fortunately for us, these plump beauties are the best thing Chan Chan the Donut Man does. (Unfortunately for Chan, his wife thinks so too.) They have a nice fluffiness and a nice pull to them. Really excellent stuff. Another premium item that's well worth the upgrade over the standard donut. Bear Claw: Imagine a shiny honey-golden baseball glove filled with hot apple pie filling. Imagine it glistening, sticky, and piping hot out of the fryer, about 7:30 each morning for your eating enjoyment. Imagine you're there at 7:31. I think you know how this story ends. Coffee: Not the greatest (let's be honest, not even the goodest), but you're here for the donuts. Make that twists and bear claws. I repeat: twists and bear claws.

I had an outer body doughnut experience today. Had their raspberry, whipped cream filled (can't remember what it's called) heavenly creation. Fresh, moist and just the right amount of sweetness. Wow ! We just went here this morning and ordered 1/2 dozen donuts for a Sunday morning treat. They have the most delicious donuts I've honestly ever had ! The jelly filled was so full of jelly, and the others we tried melted in your mouth with goodness . You should try this donut shop. Sorry Dunks, Ruby's has my business in the donut department now. Forget Dunkin' - these donuts are the real deal. Light and cake-like. Amazingly delicious. Worth a longer drive just to get them. Since Ruby's opened I have been many times, and I get them for my office and for parties, etc. Always fresh. Shopping local aside, these are the best donuts you're going to find anywhere in the region. read more

I'm not so happy to give this review, but I think the donuts there are not very special. They are full of artificial ingredients, and really are kind of nasty. I would send people to Salt & Light Cafe in Groton for their from scratch donuts. They are far superior. read more

This place is great! Donuts are super fresh. Way better than Dunkin's! The Thai iced tea is good - not as good as a Thai restaurant, but decent for grab and go. My husband gives this place a 4.5 as he wishes there was more selection for the donuts (sugar twist, powdered, etc.) they also seem to have a loyal customer base, which is a great sign! We will for sure be back! read more

I had breakfast here and I got the bear claw donut and it was very good my Uncle has a connection with the owner my favorite donut was the bear claw I loved the filling in it and it cost 21 dollars for me and three others to eat there just for donuts I would recommend this place for breakfast for anyone living in the Ayer Devens area read more

Absolutely delightful donuts!! Light, airy, and perfectly glazed! We were in the area for a baseball tournament and decided to try this place as a treat for the players and parents. So glad we found this place! The store has little to offer as far as atmosphere goes, but the owner makes up for it with his friendly personality and sense of humor. I was undecided on flavors and he let us sample a few. Highly recommend the Apple Fritter and twisted glazed donut. Next time we're in the area, it's a must go to for us! read more

I don't know how their Donuts are but the breakfast sandwich egg probably frozen bacon was old dry and black microwaved made me want to puke and the coffee was just as bad a 6oz small for 1.59 I read alot of reviews and I believe most are phony and bullshit! driving from nh here for a donut ya sure ! read more

THE BEST!!!! The place looks run down I mean the plaza it self was outdated BUT do not be fooled!! First time in the area and while looking for a pizza shop I stumbled upon Ruby Donut!! Can I just say I LOVE me some donuts and this place has topped it for me!! BAKED FRESH!!! SO SOFT!! The frosted with shredded coconut was the first for me to try and OMG!!! Krispy Kreme has always been my #1 but at this point I feel Ruby has earned my vote for at the top!! GOOD FOR YOU GUYS!! You may want to think of opening a shop out in the Worcester area! Downtown area and Green st. area would really appreciate your donuts! But until then I will be back more!!! read more

My kids and I stopped by Ruby's Donuts yesterday after it was recommended by a friend. I have grown up absolutely loving donuts and have missed homemade donuts. This spot is absolutely the real deal. You can taste how fresh and fluffy Ruby's Donuts are. The owner allowed us to try a variety of donuts since it was our first time there. Their apple fritter donut was unbelievable especially as I do not like apple flavored pastries. He allowed us to try almost every donut and we did not have a single one we didn't like. We then bought a dozen donuts (some we hadn't tried) and some of their pastries. Again, every single one was delicious. If you are visiting the area or are a local, you have to stop by this place. I promise that I am not exaggerating. I do not write reviews usually (this is the third review I have written on google) but Ruby's Donuts is a place that should be well known by everyone! read more

We happened to drive by this place earlier this week and after seeing the reviews on yelp, I decided that we should take an early morning trip to pick up some donuts. The donuts definitely were worth getting up early for. When the man working there realized we'd never been there before, he gave us samples of some he thought we would like. They like everything else we bought were delicious. We normally prefer yeast donuts but the cake donuts were really good. They were very light and fluffy. Saw the donut shop driving by the other day and I had to stop in. It's a no frills place, but candidly I found it charming. The entrance to the farm kind of sneaks up on you fast; the whole place appears much smaller on the outside, but once you pull in and get to the gravel parking lot, you realize how much bigger it is inside. There was live outdoor music playing and kids laughing and cheering while playing with the nearby caged animals. This place was a great vibe. We weren't particularly hungry so I can't comment on the food, but we did take a walk around and paid for a quart box for blueberry picking. This was our first time and we had no idea what we were doing, but soon enough we filled up our little box very nicely. I recommend you bring some Off or some kind of bug spray if you're anything like me and bugs love buzzing around your ears. Inside the one of the barns was their stores and I picked up a bag of caramel puff corn and a delicious Apple Cider slushie. Everyone was very friendly. Overall we had a very good time here, and I hope to come back on an empty stomach so that I can try out some of their cider donuts.

No seating inside (a minus) but a single metal table outside that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks (big minus). Filled with pollen. I do like the selection (big plus) and the crazy flavors will appeal to a wide range of tastes, but there are places where you can still get a fresh donut and sometimes even a warm one. We went a while back, having seen it posted online. Someone was raving about how good the donuts were so we took a drive to give it a try. When we walked in, the man behind the counter was so nice. He was letting us try samples, recommending his favorites, and was all around warm and inviting. We got donuts, bear claws, and fritters. They were all great but oh my god the fritters were soooooooooo good! You can tell it's real ingredients too, everything tastes fresh. Got the bubble tea another time and that was really good too. Sweet without being overbearing. The plaza itself doesn't look like much, but don't be fooled. Ruby's is really worth the travel. read more

I had some family members bring me some Ruby donuts today!! In my family I am kind of known for loving donuts. My aunt's boyfriend had mentioned that they were being brought to a college campus, so the workers had given him 3 more boxes of donuts! They are absolutely amazing. I had an apple cider donut, and it completely hit the spot! Then had a boston creme and it was the BEST boston creme donut I've ever had.
