Worse experience ever. Waitress or cook got our food completely wrong as they was blaming each other the cooks name was jamal. When asked to speak with a manager was told they was not there. We paid $40 to get food we could not eat and rude service. I sat at the bar and ordered the Largey Burger, which was interestingly, and a bit ominously, named after a local personal injury firm. It was quite good and large, as the name implies. Order it with grilled onions, instead of raw. The fries that came with it were the very ordinary crinkle-cut fries, but they were plentiful and tasty, as they were sprinkled with Old Bay, according to the cook, who sat next to me at the bar, which I thought was cool. The draught beer selection is pretty decent, too. The flies are a bit of a problem, which could be easily resolved by hanging clear plastic bags filled with water. It is the general ambience that makes this place, though. The live music act was very good, and there is a nice view of the park and Lake Dora. Decided to give this place a try after a long day. Wow, what a gem of a place. We walked in to the sounds of live music and a cool vibe to the place. We ordered spaghetti with meatballs, chicken Marsala with linguini, a chicken bacon sandwich and a turkey and arugula sandwich. If you are looking for a fast food place this is not it, but if you are looking for delicious food, well presented then this is it ! We were pleasantly surprised and look forward to going there again the next time our travels bring us to town. Monica was our server and was friendly and on point with her service. Even going as far as contacting us when we left something in the restaurant and going above and beyond to ensure we got it back. The only downfall is that the patio is a smoking area so as non smokers we could not really sit out there and enjoy the music from the band and the ambiance. Ruby Street Grille is a fun place to meet friends or just chill out. The variety of entertainment during the week is great. I'm a regular on Wednesday nights and every first Friday when Jeff and Mark are playing their music sets. Jeff is simply an amazing guitar player. I really enjoy when Beautiful Bobby Blackmon is booked also. The food is above average for "bar food" but is a bit over priced if you ask me. $8.00 to $11.00 is a little pricey for a hamburger, eventhough they are really good. The staff is friendly. Heidi is my favorite server. She remembered my usual drink order without me having to ask after my first time being there. For good food, good entertaiment and a genreally good time over all; give Ruby Street Grille a try. read more

Food is hit or miss, as is the service. Their turkey & cranberry sandwich is perfect for toting over the the adjacent Wooten Park. The prices are inordinately high; however, it is nice to get mixed drinks and food to go, and only be steps away from the kids' play area at the waterfront. Seasoned fries are good...when they take the time to season them. They're great with kids to the point of spoiling them, so they always get my business when we're at Wooten Park and want to grab food and drinks. Definitely kid-friendly and a good option for downtown Tavares. read more

This is one of few places in the area that provide this kind of dining experience. On my first visit, I ordered the fish tacos and enjoyed them. I came back when I graduated from middle school and had chicken Parmesan. The service that time took forever but they were cooking for a lot of people. The people are friendly. Very fun atmosphere! My husband and I enjoyed the live band on their deck with a lake view. Drinks were great and food fresh .

We went here based off of recommendations from YELP. and we were not disappointed. It was fantastic. Our server Donna was bubbly and friendly. She makes the tea and my husband said the tea was the best that he has had in a while. It is homemade and freshly made everyday. I am vegetarian and I had there homemade rice and beans and a cup is their soup which was all very filling and delicious. My grandpa had the fried fish sandwich which he said was out of this world and made just how he likes it. My grandma had the pulled pork which was finger licking good. What a great experience. YUCK. The sever was terrible, my husband tried to catch her to ask her something and she ran off "I have 4 tables, I'm too busy to talk to you'. Caprese Flatbread was gross, evidently they can't cook. Too much garlic. The chips were hard and the cheese sauce that came with them tasted like it came out of a can. Gross. The cheese didn't compliment the chips at all. Save your money and drink at home. Awful. Also it was too expansive. It cost more than the caprese flatbread I had at Disney! Server was rude. We dine at Ruby Street Grille atleast 2-3 times per month. We initially went because they advertized "Beef on Weck". Traditionally a favorite of Buffalo, NY. The sandwich is good, but not the "real" Kummelweck roll. Love the shrimp basket, but homemade cocktail sauce is much tastier. Fried pickles to die for. read more

Came here after riding the train with our kids, it was a gorgeous day and we wanted to sit outside with a view of the water. They had some live entertainment in the form of a guy with a guitar who was pretty good. He gave my son a guitar pick which was totally awesome of him. Our waitress was great, our food came out a little slow but we were enjoying the weather so no big deal. The spinach artichoke dip was fantastic and a very large serving. My husband had the fish tacos which were really good, but since there was only two of them he was still a bit hungry after. I had the BLT, its kind of hard to mess up a BLT so it was good. My husband and I are both big clam chowder fans so we each ordered a cup...it was kind of gross. It didn't have a lot of substance and the broth/soup itself tasted off. Our kids enjoyed their kids meals, a burger and a hot dog. They had toys for them to play with but we never needed them. Overall, a decent place to stop if you're in the area and want to enjoy the live music and pretty view. read more
