They brought my meal in a large bag tied up and a metal plate. I dumped the bag of goodness onto my plate - very unique. I appreciated being able to order from "no spice" to "burn your face off"! The food was tastey. The server was responsive. I am only providing four stars, though they were wonderful, because if how I got my leftovers. Unfortunately they dump what you didn't eat into another plastic bag with all the juices and spices. Now, I realize some may like that. But it did not appeal to me. The cheesecake was small, but really good, although I did have to ask about desserts when the server was ready to give us the check. She was also slow in bringing out the dessert and updating our check, but nicer towards the end of the dinner. This is about the 5th time I've been to Red Crab - and just this location. We checked in for a table and were told the wait would only be a couple of minutes. While we were waiting, one of the servers--who ended up being our server, Bill--offered us a sample of their famous clam chowder. It was hot, peppery, and absolutely delicious. That sample alone confirmed we'd made the right choice. Because of the festival, the menu was limited, but I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and a grilled shrimp skewer. The chowder was easily one of the best I've ever had, comparable to an incredible bowl I once had at Pike Place Market in Seattle. The shrimp skewer was also very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The food was marvelously well-executed - my dining partner's Maryland crab cake was mostly lump crab meat with only enough binder to hold it together and the whole-belly clams were simply off the chain. The 4-Star rating is for the sparse appearance of the presentation and they charge for hushpuppies as a side - which is a Southern cardinal sin.
