Just as yummy as the sister in NOLA! The Peacemaker even allows you to pick 2 different Eggs Benedict's! The portions are large and the coffee is really tasty. Another great place for brunch! Start off with a cocktail from the menu list and dive into a menu full of items fit for adults and kids. My wife and I were craving Eggs Benedict. I had the Trifecta and she had the Bayou Shrimp Benedict. You couldn't go wrong with either choice. My eyes are bigger than my stomach as the Trifecta was terrific -- but way too much food. Came here for a team meal with the soccer team and this place did not disappoint. Every meal that came out looked more delicious than the last. I got the shrimp and grits and they were among the best shrimp and grits I've had. This is NOT a tomato based dish. No, butter and cream and all around deliciousness. It had a good amount of shrimp and sausage. The difference maker was the sage, which is pretty unique for shrimp and grits in my experience. Wonderful meal with really good service. Honestly the food was great on my end, but they didn't cook the whites enough on her eggs for her benedict so she switched it with biscuits and gravy which were really good. The server was really nice and patient with us because I feel like we had him do a lot of running on this visit. The atmosphere was very relaxing and I do wish we were able to sit outside but the patio was full. I do recommend going here because despite it being busy everyone was friendly and the kitchen got our food out pretty quick. read more

They will change your life. Kinda hard to describe the taste but "airy" will suffice. You might think, "why would I want airy brussel sprouts", but you don't know what you want. They are sweet, airy, crispy, and packed with flavor. Moving on, here's a tip, the Sweet Heat chicken can be ordered along with the biscuits. Do it. The chicken isn't too spicy, it's not "Nashville Hot" (which is great by the way) it's just right. When you get the chicken, cut some of it, and add it directly to the biscuits and gravy. This place had good reviews and we came for Sunday brunch, the wait for a table for 7 was 45 min which is to be expected for that time of day/week so no issues. It has a cute atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. In a really cute area of downtown with lots of shops and businesses nearby! Once we were sat our server Crystal greeted us quickly and brought us some waters, we were happy to check in on Yelp and see we were offered a free appetizer :) We had the loaded tots, they were okay. I tried the shrimp and grits and had high hopes but it came out with a pool of oil sitting on the dish, and i tried to pour it off the side and more kept coming up from the bottom, the entire bottom plate was covered in oil. Unfortunately it was just almost inedible. I had to ask Crystal who was very understanding and brought me some eggs and toast instead (the sourdough toast was actually so hard too, even when toasted with butter, i couldn't believe that) They came back to ask how i liked the eggs and were kind in the whole process, but none of us really liked our dishes too much enough to come back. read more

I had no idea Ruby Sunshine was affiliated with Ruby Slipper until I arrived and saw the logo on the door. I was instantly relieved because I know the food at Ruby Slipper is good. When you walk in, it gives all of the New Orleans vibes...but in Chattanooga. We were seated outside and had the pleasure of being served by Anna-Claire. If you meet her, you'd think her name suited her perfectly. She was bubbly and sweet. I started with a pineapple peach bellini and it was pretty good. I was just happy there were more options than mimosas (I'm not a fan). For food, I ordered the fried green tomatoes and the Chicken St. Charles bennie with hollandaise instead of the pork sauce. The fried green tomatoes had a good flavor but there was more breading on them than I prefer. Also, the lettuce on top was a waste and not needed on the dish. It didn't add anything to it. The Chicken St. Charles was pretty good and filling. The chicken had a nice crunch on the outside and the hollandaise added a little more moisture to the sandwich as chicken on a biscuit can get a little dry. I just wish the hollandaise had a little more acidity but that's my only "issue". read more

My new favorite place for Breakfast!!! Ruby Sunshine: hands up, down and all over. Our first time to eat here, we stopped in Chattanooga while visiting the Smoky Mountains. The Three Little Pigs omelet was absolutely AMAZING. Super fluffy buttery taste without a hint of greasy and with a perfect blend of yummy meats & swiss (a "how'd they do that" omelet). My wife loved her pancakes...so did I. Biscuits and gravy were fantastic and the coffee was fresh. Jack, our server, was great. I'm a grump in the morning and Jack totally pepped me up with kindness and coffee while he chatted it up with my dear, morning-very-talkative wife (yep, Jack was really great). He mentioned the kitchen crew were southern foodie gurus - some from Louisiana - which was evident in the flavor of our breakfast. We stopped for breakfast at a couple of other Ruby Sunshines during our vacation and while they were good, the one in Chattanooga totally stood out due to it's even tastier southern flavor and fun atmosphere. Did a quick stop here on a lazy Monday morning, brought out dog too. We were seated very very quickly. They didn't even bat an eyelid on the gigantic size of my Pyrenees so you know - If Simba is welcomed here, any dog is. Our friendly server was pleasant and fast. She was a little busy but didn't stop her from bring us coffee really quickly. We ordered the beignets, that took a longer time to arrive. But when it finally did, I wish there was more powdered sugar on it. The beignets were rectangular and almost a flaky dough. It looked a little over fried but it was just darker than what I'm used to. The beignets came piping hot so you know they made it fresh upon ordered. I wished our server told us so we know what to expect and the duration of wait. My 3 little pigs omelet was nicely done. It was slightly brown on the outside - it sat on a hot pan - I like it!! It was nicely set on the inside. Some omelets I've had come under done on the inside. This I LIKEY VERY MUCHY. I would come back here just for that. Street parking will be a little challenging if you come on a busier time but for us, lazy Monday's parking was perfect. There were spots opened waiting for us. We recently ate here on a vacation with our family. I'm obsessed with beignets so of course I ordered them... and they were terrible. Don't get the beignets. I was SO disappointed. My husband got several of the bennies and they were good, but the poached egg was cooked all the way through. None of the runny yolk that you'd expect from a correctly poached egg. Kids menu was adequate but not great. bacon wasn't crunchy when I specifically asked for it (because I've gotten food poisoning from undercooked bacon before so I like it well done)... but I risked it and ate it anyway and I was fine. Service was very nice but extremely slow. We waited a very long time for our food to be prepared even though they weren't busy, and a very long time for our check. So much so, I had to ask someone to find out waitress because we needed to go. Overall the food was meh, service was meh, and we probably won't eat here again. read more

While visiting family at home, I decided to order from here from GrubHub for me and my mom and we were thoroughly impressed. We both really enjoyed the sausage gravy biscuit, especially me! It's hard to find a good gravy biscuit in DC, so when I had this it brought me back to home. My mom said you can tell this food is homemade and even compared it to her granny's cooking which is saying a lot. The bacon was also extra crispy and delicious! The gravy biscuit meal not only comes with two biscuits and a thing of sausage gravy, but you also get eggs which you can scramble with cheese and a side of bacon. In my opinion, that's a good deal! I will definitely be trying this in person when I'm looking for a good breakfast spot downtown! read more

The spicy chicken and French toast bites (plus and extra piece of chicken) was surprisingly AMAZING! My expectations for Chicken and French Toast is not usually super high, but they have a great seasoning on the toast and sauce on the chicken too. The chicken is almost melt in your mouth soft goodness! Service was good from our server girl. Parking is tricky, but pop into a side street and you should be ok. I have to say Ruby Sunshine is a fantastic brunch spot and well worth the reservation. Although the place was PACKED, Britney always checked on our table and was extremely attentive to our order despite the crowd. Seasonal Beignets: Ours was the apple pie, which had a desserty mix of cheesecake at the bottom. This was so good. Loved how rich this was, and I would gladly ordered it again. Sweet Heat Chicken and French Toast Bites: I had this order and it was delicious. The Chicken was fried perfectly without it being too dry, the French toast bites were AMAZING, and the strawberries complimented well with the food. Fried Green Tomato: Surprisingly good. I enjoyed their take on a fried green tomato and wasn't expecting the skin to hold so well. What a lovely appetizer to get. I haven't tried the Breakfast Tacos and Eggs Benedict here but from what I've heard from my friends, they say it's delicious too. If I had to give an opinion of what I liked best, it would probably be the French toast bites. With the sauce they have, I think it's done perfectly. Ruby slipper is the epitome of amazing southern hospitality. I was visiting the area with some friends who came in from Lenoir City. They had never been to Chattanooga so we were all new. I found this restaurant through Yelp and was not disappointed. We had the pleasure of being in Baileigh's area. She was super sweet and accommodating. She answered all of our questions and offered recommendations based on our individual preferences for food and beverages. The food was fantastic. The menu has a wide variety of options; something for everyone. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with side of potatoes. My mom ordered the French Toast. My friends got the Biscuits and Gravy and Smoked Salmon Benedict. I also got the French Truck Iced Coffee. I like that it was within walking distance of our hotel - Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga Downtown. The ambiance was bright and charming. The restaurant was clean and open so you could people watch. We went early both mornings so we could select exactly where we wanted to sit. Make sure to go outside on the patio to have your photo taken in front of the Chattanooga mural.
