Walked in to get a table. The wait was about 20 minutes but there were tons of open tables. We asked about the bar and the hostess said that if we sit at the actual bar we can have full service, but not the booths, which makes sense but then, she kept going on about how people seat themselves and don't understand the difference. My husband said to me, "maybe we should try Gyukaku" The hostess interrupted our thought process and said as she ushered us towards the door, "well they are our sister company so we we're still making money". Yikes. It's too bad, we would have stayed for the 20 mins but that hostess was such a turn off. Giving this place three stars because our waiter was SO attentive and such a great server. I'd give the food 1 star bleh. I had a coupon for Rubys for $25 so we decided to grab a bite before watching a movie. The rubys in town closed so we had to venture out here to use my certificate. We normally order ribs but we were both craving something else (which was a mistake). I got the ruby nachos with kalua pork and my bf got the ruby minis with broccoli and cheddar soup. Ruby nachos: Chips were greasy and did not taste fresh. Kalua pork came out COLD like it had been sitting out all day. There was a lot of cheese, maybe a little too much (which is saying a lot because I love cheese). There was literally a small dollop of sour cream, not enough to satisfy the entire dish. The best thing about the dish was probably the jalepenos, which is pretty sad since that just comes out of a can. Ruby minis+Broccoli cheese soup: Minis were standard but the soup tasted so artificial and overly cheesy. It tasted like pure melted cheese with junks of broccoli. I love cheese, but this was also excessive... Our server was super attentive. He accidentally brought us chicken noodle and then promptly gave us broccoli cheese and told us to keep the chicken noodle soup as well. I have been to Ruby Tuesday several times, and for some reason this time they were struggling! We were seated quickly but it took a while for the waitress to come out. When she did she apologized and said she was wrapping silverware, so I got the sense that the they were struggling short staffed or something. Needless to say our drinks and food took a while to come out. I ordered the parmesan chicken pasta with a side of green beans and the wife ordered the salad bar and sliders. The salad bar was pretty basic and the extras (pasta salad, potato salad, etc) were not tasty. The sliders were not actually small, they were about the size of a fast food burger so not what I would consider a slider. The kitchen messed up my order and thought I wanted a grilled chicken breast and not the side of green beans. I took the dish because I was worried how long another dish would take and asked if I could still have the green beans. The green beans were tasteless, they were not grilled or seasoned. Just your average fare. Burgers are pretty good, but there are so many other places similar to Ruby Tuesday, that have better burgers. 3) However . . .they have a salad bar . . . a REAL salad bar. . . . that's their redeeming factor. In Church, they say Sunday's are days of rest. So on "MY" Sunday's I do just that.. I rest.. But this past Sunday my dear friend Ronald C. decides to wake me up at the butt crack of dawn to have breakfast. Unmotivated, I wake-up on the left-side with an attitude of the Grinch on high. Ronald mentions Ruby Tuesday serves breakfast and in disbelief I agree and we head down the street to Windward Mall. To my surprise, at 8am, doors open wide with a BANNER advertising breakfast served 8am-11am. Also to my surprise, the Menu selection was pretty decent: Prime Rib Loco Moco, Sweet Bread French Toast and the list goes on. The prices were pretty decent as well. The food (again to my surprise) was pretty tasty and filling.. The service eh, the same pretty spotty. Although nice, our server didn't visit us too much. But she did take care of us the times she did. I gave 3 stars because I've visited RT's for dinner a few times and the food wasn't spectacular, the wait is LONG and the service unpredictable. To be fair, I might give this 2.5 stars if that were an option. I ate at a Ruby Tuesday's years ago, and at that time, 1000+ calorie burgers were the big selling point. I think that's largely still true, though I can no longer partake of such things as often as I did back in the day. So when, by happenstance, I ate there twice in three days recently, I ended up with the Avocado Bacon Chicken Sandwich and the Petite Sirloin. Both were excellently seasoned, which was a bit of a surprise to me. My medium rare steak was slightly more done than I expected, but acceptable. The sides ranged from meh (onion rings, which appeared to be pre-made frozen) to good (sweet potato fries, baked potato, grilled zucchini). So why only two stars? Price. $13 burgers and sandwiches are a little pricey, but just barely in bounds, but the $6.59 salad bar add-on to any entree is WAY overpriced. It means that a soda, a burger and fries, and the salad bar end up being over $20, nearly $25 with tax and tip. At that price, I expect freshly made onion rings, HUGE portions, and a massage. The entrees are similarly expensive IMO, though you can find a few better options hiding in the menu; I thought the petite sirloin and the half rack of ribs were reasonably priced for what you get. On the positive side, the servers here are excellent -- friendly, attentive, and helpful. You get treated well here. Parking is free and abundant in the Windward Mall parking lot. If you're looking for predictable chain restaurant fare, you can find it here. But at the price point, I think there are better options. read more

And it was literally all salad fixings (some salad bars will have soup or bread). Found a reasonable burger option on the lunch menu (decent, but fries were cold). My date ordered the loaded chips and they were terrible. Salty, thick cheese dribbled over salty chips. Minimal other ingredients. The décor is dark and not inviting. Excellent bathroom though. Ok we've come to this place several times and the service is consistently ok to good. The food is usually warm and takes a bit long to come out. Our server, Kyle, was very friendly and talkative. Sometimes I would see him talkin a lil too much with some customers and not so much with others. He did forget wifey's glass of wine and was apologizing too much for that and the burnt salted caramel cookie dessert. The dessert came out about 15 mins after we ordered it and we were told it should've came out more around 5-10 mins. It even looked like the cookie AND the bacon were burnt. Stopped by for dinner tonight and we had the 4-Part Appetizer (Buffalo wings, Mozzarella sticks, chicken strips and spring rolls) and I had the BBQ Baby Back ribs with deep fried Louisiana Shrimp. All in all the dinner was good. Ribs were fork tender & fall off the bone. What impressed my wife is that the server, John C., gave us two pairs of straws, one each for our waters and our drinks. She thought this was very thoughtful and worthy of mentioning. John C. was also very good, checked on us regularly and also thanked me by my name at the end. Not going to lie. This place has made the best potato thingy I've tasted in a while..probably ever! The bf and I just happened to stop by Windward (a long way from home I might add) and decided to snack on some appetizers before checking out Discover Windward. We ordered a Fresh Guacamole Dip and these amazing Blue Cheese Sidewinders. The dip came with pico de gallo, salsa, a huge amount of guacamole & unlimited chips to dip. Everything was fresh and delicious. These sidewinders were potato twists with bacon bits and blue cheese. Ours came out still hot so the blue cheese melted. The twists were crispy on the outside and soft on the insides. The blue cheese added a nice tang to my potatoes. Besides the amazing food, our waitress (didn't catch her name) was very attentive and polite. Our food came out in a timely manner and we didn't have to wait for our check too long. Bonus points in my book. Spent $39 for the two shareable appetizers, a Rogue Dead Guy Ale and a Strawberry Mango Tango, not including tip. January 2020 and it's time for an update. New Menu: Ruby Tuesday does change its menu on a regular basis, I saw an ad on TV about some new items. But most of the classic menu items are the same. Salad Bar: Still there and better than ever. AYCE! RT did make it easier to add it on to an entre. If the entre comes with a 'side' dish, like fries, then you can substitute the salad bar for $4.99. Steaks Ribs Pork Chops: While these items are popular, my wife usually wants a light entre plus the salad bar. This time she got the spicy chicken wings appetizer with added on salad bar. She loved it. Vegan/vegetarian/healthful Options: RT used to have a great black bean veggie burger. That is long gone but they do have now a 'Beyond Burger' (meatless vegan fake meat). So this was advertised on TV and that is why I went to RT. It is in fact vegan. It comes on a gluten-free bun that has no egg or dairy. So it is an out of the package, pre-formed thick patty with lettuce, onion, pickle, and tomato. I requested ketchup and mustard as it comes with no sauce. It was not bad. But it has no wow factor what so ever. I'd rate it as a 3-star item. The gluten-free bun lacks flavor...but it is more healthful choice than the non-vegan brioche bun. I'll get this again because it is a viable option for vegan dining out. Skip the fries and add on the salad bar for $4.99. In addition, RT does have a large number of vegetable and non-meat 'side' dishes that can be used to put together a healthful meatless meal. More on the new meatless burger. BK saw a 10% increase in overall sales with its successful 'Impossible' Whopper. That won't happen at RT, IMHO. The table next to us ordered the 'Beyond Burger' too. The waitress could not really describe it to the customer. Customers will come in looking for this. The message behind it needs to be strong and confident. The staff has to believe in it too. It's worth checking out. I hope RT promotes this effectively. It could be a real winner for them. read more

Really tasty and well made, Shrimp, served panko style and of generous size, approximately 30 per pound size, eight pieces seasoned to perfection, not greasy at all, served with a delightfully semi-spicy cocktail sauce. The fries are skin on normal fries cut, crunchy on the outside and soft of the inside came perfectly salted. I was gratified to see they have addtional salt on the table if needed and a peppermill which was a special treat you normally dont see at these types of restaurants. Very filling, had to take half home cause it was as stated a generous portion. This setup is unacceptable and management needs to tweak processes in place so coverage is available. You can enter from the street side (outside of the mall) or from inside the mall. After mall hours, you have to enter from the street side obviously. We came here around 7pm and was told it was about a 30 min wait. No biggie. Hostess took our phone number and they texted us when table was ready. We had the salad bar and shared an app. Our boy had a bacon cheeseburger with salad bar and our girl had the mac and cheese kids meal. Everyone enjoyed their food. I've always been a fan of RT ever since they opened here in Hawaii. My good friend and I used to eat at the Mililani RT every week - no joke. I keep hoping they bring back the happy hour specials where all the apps were were half off. I thought the half off apps was a good business move because it brought in more customers. Well I would just like to say that this is my first time at this place so hopefully my review is good. I decided on this place for lunch since I wanted to try the food here, and I must say I liked the food very much. I started off with the southwestern spring rolls, which was very good. In fact it was so good I had a second order. It was very warm and crispy. It went along great with the Kona Longboard beer that I was drinking. I ordered the crusted tilapia for my main course, and boy was I surprised. It was very delicious sauce it was crusted in panko and was glazed with lemon butter. I never had lemon butter but I found that it really improved in the taste of the tilapia. The meal also comes with two choices of sides. I went with the broccoli and the chedder cheese and bacon baked potato. Both sides were great. The customer service was great too. I like how the server always checked to see how I was doing. But the thing I liked the most was that I could eat and drink at my own pace without the feeling of being rushed. She knows exactly what I want each time I eat there and her attention she provides me and the rest of our party is like a VIP. I'm disappointed that Ruby's menu changed their salads out. I was ready to go back to Big City but Danielle had the chicken make a little change to their salad and it's now my favorite again. I went in to talk to the manager about an error on my last gift card special. He quickly recognized my order from Danielle and cleared the matter up with no hassles.
