I'm a regular at this place and I know the ropes. First, you really come for the salad bar. It's one of the best on the island, unless you want to pay $60 for a Waikiki buffet. I always get the salad bar along with a meal and I'm usually so full that I end up taking the meal home. Second, I don't order the steaks, I don't think that is their strong point and I have learned that. Third, I don't go when they are really crowded because service can suffer during those times. I like their appetizers and sampler plates. Yes, they are deep-fried for the most part, I don't get the complaints about this, it's clearly stated on the menu. Hello? This is actually one of the nicer restaurants in Kaneohe. On the mainland, saying Ruby Tuesday is upscale would produce outright laughter, but I actually wear a collared shirt when I come here...and shoes, I wear real shoes too. My favorite meal usually comes from their pasta selections, but I have to say I'm very disappointed that they nixed the Jambalaya recently. That was my favorite dish and I am shocked that it apparently was not selling well. I'd give them a higher rating if that hadn't done that. This restaurant is probably due for an overhaul, it really gets a lot of use. I would also disagree with the price rating. The family stopped in for lunch prior to taking in a movie in the mall. It's not my first choice but we had two gift certificates so basically a free lunch--score! We came in to eat today to celebrate our kids sports games. Our waitress (Lena) took our order, after that she had walked past us about 4 or 5 times checking on other people (asking how food is, if they needed anything) didnt acknowledge us once. After we were done eating, we waited and waited for her to come back for the check, when she finally came she told us our food should be out soon, she didn't even notice that we had already eaten, and had been waiting forever. This is the worst service we have ever experienced, we understand servers are busy but the restaurant was not busy when we were there and she managed to check on everyone around us except us. I wish I would of caught the name of the gentleman that brought us our food because he was fantastic. But sad to say we wont be returning here again after today's experience. My boyfriend and I had dinner there tonight, he ordered the parmesian shrimp pasta and he liked it. I ordered the petite steak with a small louisiana shrimp side thing, with mashed potatos and grilled asparagus. Everything but the steak was good. I ordered my steak medium, the server brought me a medium rare. I sent it back and repeated that I ordered medium, and she agreed to have them put it on just a little while longer. I think it was another 10 minutes or so before she brought it back, I thought it took a while for it just being on for a little while longer and sure enough, she brought it back well done. I then sent it back a 3rd time and asked her to pack it up because we didn't have time to wait, and I'm glad I did because it took another 15 minutes or so before I got it back, and by then I was done with everything else, and so was my bf. She brought it back all ready to go, but while she had our check I cut into it just to check, and again it was the wrong temperature, it was medium well! But we had somewhere we had to be and couldn't wait any longer. I'm soooo dissapointed, but what am I going to do? I took it home, but I know if I heat it up, it'll definitely come out well done. Major FAIL on steak, but isn't Ruby Tuesdays kinda like a steakhouse type of restaurant? The server was nice, but if I were her, I'd be extremely embarrassed in the quality of food she was forced to present. 2 stars only because the server was nice, and the rest of the food was good. Breakfast review- Well, I can say we have had dinner here before, and it was decent. However, I am sitting here for breakfast and I ordered pancakes. It came with 5 pieces of bacon, which is a lot. The pancakes were TERRIBLE! Did they cook them in the microwave!? They were super thin and dry. They were yellow on the top (not golden), and white on the bottom, covered in a ton of bubbles. I had to drown them with syrup and butter just to get past the crumbling in my mouth. And for you coffee drinkers, their coffee isn't strong at all! I was here with 3 others who's breakfasts were just okay. I would NOT recommend going here for breakfast. read more

Ruby's dark wood decor looks good, & its open/no glass on the side facing the Mall's interior makes the place inviting. Our waiter was upbeat, but woe! his long hairstyle was a throwback to the 1970s! He entered our order on a tablet computer as we spoke, which got me thinking that a waiter's not needed / I can enter the order myself! Maybe the industry will evolve to this arrangement sooner rather than later. In 1990, I ate at a diner in Seaside, Oregon where you picked up a phone (each table had one) & gave the kitchen your order. A few years ago, at Chili's Kahala Mall, I closed out my dinner & got a check by using a small gizmo at the table, & paid with a credit card too. On 6/25/16, I discovered Costco (Hawaii Kai) has a new scanner that scans all your stuff in your cart in seconds! No need to empty your stuff onto the conveyor belt anymore. People gonna lose jobs! The Costco CEO takes a LOT of heat at board meetings because Costco's pay scale is super generous, taking away some bucks that the shareholders are expecting. The food was just OK -- good ribs/chicken dishes aren't hard to cook. The $6.59 (with an entree purchase) for the salad bar was a rip-off. Must be that Ruby T has many layers of overhead & profits that we end up paying. Next time I'll vote with my feet, or examine the menu & prices at the receptionist's stand before taking a table. Would give 0 star if I could. I used to be a regular here a few years ago. They got a new manager, who is such an ass. Salad bar is never full. If you want salad dressing, be prepared to wait 25 minutes until they bring it to your table and you've already finished your entree. But it gets better, now that you don't want the salad bar, you still have to pay for it because they have got a new worker working the salad bar..... Alone.... At dinner time...... The day before New Year's Eve my family and I decided to go out to eat. This was our second time to this location and I forgot what I thought about the food the first time. I surely remembered after we received our food. My daughter ordered the Asiago steak plate , which was cooked wrong and the meal was so greasy it was barely edible. I ordered a hamburger which was standard so I couldn't complain. My husband ordered a rack of ribs that were probably in a slow cooker all day and was equally greasy and terrible. I have to say after spending 80 dollars and close to idegestion I will ABSOLUTELY never spend money at this place again. It is an over priced Dennys and I think I like Dennys better. Ruby Tuesday food is typically salty and that's why it tastes good, but it'll wreak your salt intake. And the service really needs improvement. Our server, Keoki, was friendly and took our order well enough, when he brought our appetizer, he didn't give us any utensils! Geez, first thing servers should do before leaving a table is do a quick scan and make sure everything is set. Fortunately our appetizer was finger food so we could still eat it, but come on - not even napkins on our table. Even after he brought out our entrees, he was going to leave us without utensils. I had to stop him and ask for it before he left us hanging! Then he forgets to bring my son's beverage. Maybe if he reviewed his tab or at least checked back with us during our meal i could have reminded him. Then when he brought our check, i told him he had to remove the cost of the beverage that we never received, he never apologized! Even when he brought the corrected check he never apologized. This is the restaurant in the Windward Mall. We decided to eat here because it was the only place not packed and now, I know why. The seating and ordering were relatively quick. The food (crab cake sandwich, the salad bar and their smokehouse burger) was pretty darn terrible. The taste just wasn't their. The salad bar wasn't stocked and had limited choices than what I had previously thought; the burger was bland with little to no BBQ sauce and minimal taste; the crab cake sandwich was also not that hot in terms of food temp and the sauce was bland; the crab cake was nothing to get excited over. Also, when the food came, we asked for Ketchup and after a yes, ok from the food server, she went to another table of about 10+ people to take their order and of course, no Ketchup was brought to our table. Then we asked our waiter for Ketchup and after a yes, okay, and a 10 minute wait, he brought our check and no Ketchup. I mean, we sat there as if we were in the TWILIGHT ZONE. Never again we will eat at any Ruby Tuesday. The food was poor. The service was poor and that was reflected in the minimal tip I left. read more

On the night of December 19, 2019 I Came in with a party of 4 adults and 2 kids and was told that there's no tables available for a big party of 6. No wait time given no reason other than no tables available. After looking around there were the three tables open by the bathroom which can easily seat a party of 6 along with two open tables available in the front of the restaurant. After speaking with the front counter a manager came and gave us a smug look. We told them they had 5 tables that could easily seat our party and they said sorry they just didn't have enough servers. Horrible that they had to lie to us just cause they didn't want to seat us. We come here often with parties of 20 or more and after getting the treatment we got today it made us feel like they rather not take in business and enjoy a slow night instead. Horrible service and horrible management. If that's how they want to do business then I wouldn't recommend going there cause they rather come to work get paid and not serve food. Went in tonight because my daughter was craving Spinach Artichoke dip. We ordered kids mac and cheese, medium well smokehouse burger, half rack ribs, and the spinach artichoke dip. We were sitting between 2 different parties of 6 or more & saw 4 waiters catering to them, while we were only asked twice if we were OK or need anything. The prices are high $$$ for the quality of food & you should be able to share the salad bar with purchase of an entree FREE! Overall, I DO NOT recommend. Completely overpriced. Was looking forward to having some of the veggie side dishes (I'm vegetarian and think their salad bar is a total rip off- I only WANT 1 trip through and sure don't eat enough lettuce to justify the price). The vegetables were SWIMMING in grease. I literally stuck a spoon under the edge of my dish to drain the oil off. The snow peas were completely overcooked, mushy, and a school cafeteria shade of scary dark greyish green (from cooking much too long). They listed calorie counts on the menu that were no where near the actual calories on my plate because of all of the grease. Two very unsatisfying side orders of vegetables for way too high a price. Would have been able to microwave Bird's Eye frozen vegetables better and cheaper... (and I do like eating out!) I will never go back. I have given it a couple of tries but I'm done. I even gave them feedback on their website, thinking that if they took the trouble to develop the veggie side dishes they may want to do a good job of serving them... never heard back. Low effort. Ordered the pork belly slider w/ salad bar and fries. Salad bar looked like an abandoned lot with squatters. Potato salad was flat out disgusting and had a hadn't been stirred in a while texture and probably made yesterday taste . Sliders came out with out w/ no fries, but let's be honest I had too many croutons to care. The sliders were seemingly assembled by toddlers covered in stale fryer oil who didn't wash their hands. read more

I have been to this location a few times but this time was one of the worst. We get there close to lunchtime, a little afternoon, we get seated without a problem but no one comes, we wait, I know it's lunch, it's a holiday, we wait, now it's 15 minutes later, still not a single server or manager has stopped, they have walked passed, walked by, dropped orders at other tables, nothing. Finally, I tell my daughter to walk to the hostess stand an inquire if we are going to get any service, it took three minutes before two people came by to say that we would get be seeing our server shortly and she did appear in another two minutes. She said that she didn't know that she had this table and she was sorry for making us wait. I told her that I did have a coupon and we ordered and she took our order, food service was a little slow but I know it's lunchtime. When we were done, she brought out check and no discount, so I mentioned that I gave her a coupon earlier and she said she forgot and she would get that taken care of, however she could Es back and tells us that her manager told her that a burger with salad bar does not qualify as an entree for buy one get 50% off and she did tell me she did do it previously, she apologized and said she would not charge for the drink which was a fruit punch. I still think overall we had such poor service and if they were not going to honor the coupon the manager should come out himself and tell us considering we had to wait to get service, wait for our food and be told our first choice the mini slider were OUT, who runs out on a Monday! Very disappointing. Went there today with the family to have a nice meal after a long work week. We sat down around 5:40-5:45pm. Waiter came by while I was looking at the Happy Hour menu and I asked about the happy hour drinks. We weren't ready to order with just a few minutes surveying the menu so the waiter was to come back. The waiter took our order a few minutes before 6pm, after he decided to "educate" me and correct me on what is truly medium rare. Our last item was an appetizer on the happy hour menu that my daughter really wanted. The waiter told me we were a minute late and we couldn't get it! I said are you serious? He said yes. Wow, told him I no longer wanted the salad bar and specialty drink. He said fine. Then I thought why couldn't he ask the kitchen or mgr to make an exception for us but he didn't. I was upset so told another waiter to cancel our order and we will go somewhere else. The Mgr then came by and said he could make us the appetizer! Too late, We no longer wanted to eat there and I didn't want to give them my hard earned money. The only positive thing is That the mgr comp my daughter's lemonade that she barely drank. read more

This is a gathering place almost every week for the family. Although it's what some would consider a more "divey" chain restaurant than some other Ruby's I've been to: it has that "cheers" bar quality that I admire. Ryan, the bartender, makes a great spicy Bloody Mary and is authentically nice and attentive! The food comes out relatively fast and most of the servers are friendly, genuine or not. Like any other restaurant, when it's busy some servers may have trouble anticipating your needs like extra napkins or ketchup but for the most part I haven't experienced below par service for what I'm paying. If there were one negative, I could pin it on the aroma of the restaurant There's something a bit off. Perhaps the grease in the carpet runs, or their cleaning agents. For the past few years I've been dining there, bar seating was a first come first serve basis but recently the hosts have stopped allowing it and you have to put in your name for a 20-30 minute wait. Personally, I think Sunday mornings here have the best atmosphere. The games that are playing on the tube, the dark cigar room lighting after a night of excess, and the location in the mall makes it a practical, yet enjoyable experience. Star ratings are relative, but I like this specific Ruby's so 4 it is. read more

We will never eat at this location again......we stopped in for brunch.....we waited 25 minutes for a table....fine! Actually I gave two stars instead of one because they will text when your table is ready...I like that! We were seated and by the time the server stopped by we were ready to order our entire meal, which we did! It took nearly 25 minutes to get our coffee and OJ!!! And the coffee tasted old! The booth next to us got there after us and got there food before us.....same size table, different server. When our food actually arrived at the table, I was so surprised! My daughters has Browns were a brick like party, absolutely no moisture and totally inedible! The eggs were pure rubber, I had to use the steak knife to cut them! My son's pancakes were dry and his cup of syrup didn't even have enough for one pancake let alone 3-4!!! What happened to Ruby Tuesday? We ate there last night and the food was not prepared well. The Rice Pilaf was so salty, almost to the point of being not being edible. The Seafood New Orleans (my favorite at Ruby Tuesday) was dry and and fish was a little burnt. They still make it well on the mainland, but this franchise here is losing their quality. For the large sum of money we spent having dinner there, we could have had a very good quality meal somewhere else for probably a lot less. read more

I had a problem with this server previously and I was mortified to have her again. MARIAH gave the worst service I have ever had! And I'm a server myself, so I'm not easy to disappoint. I give servers alot of credit for the job they do. But this time, I could not handle it. She was rude, unpersonable, in a rush, and could care less about her customers. I had seen her before at her second job at Jamba Juice and she was rude as ever for no reason, so I was pretty upset to have her help me at R.T. She came to our table, said nothing no "hi, how are you guys?" Or "hi, im mariah" nothing! Just came to our table and said "any drinks?" Me and my husband looked at her in awe. We got a couple drinks from the bar. It was so obvious that she did not want to be there, or have that job. When she came to take our orders.. she said "food? Whatll be?" Just super straight forward, and blatent. I ordered the ribs and my husband got a chicken pasta dish. Food was pretty good. MARIAH never checked on us. Not once! She was at the hostest stand the entire time talking story with another girl. She then came back, plopped the check down and said "whenever youre ready" and walked away. Never took our dirty dishes, never refilled our waters, and never asked if we wanted desserts. Weird. We paid in cash, and left right away. It was just the most horrible service ever. Kind of what I expected being that I knew how she was at Jamba Juice. If you get her section, asked to sit elswhere. She had an attitude and could care less about her customers and job.
