This is reminiscent of the 1970s dinner with the clientele a mix of the retired and teenager looking for a coffee and burger. The restaurant is clean, with tables cleaned quickly and the decor a mix of watercolors and posters all reminding you that you're in Montana. The burger was good, and the fries hand cut and a bit thick - which is my favorite. No complaints!

My first time visiting Montana, and I tried Ruby's. (I then returned again the next day lol) Let me say this first, the people, the people, the people made me fall in love with this place. The food is AMAZING which will make you like a place but mix that with great people and it's a wrap! I will always come to Ruby's when I'm in Montana. There is a parking lot and a few surrounding lots as well as street parking. The vibe inside is like "hometown family" warmth and love. I definitely recommend Ruby's Cafe!

I stopped here on my way to Coeur d'Alene and was very happy. I got eggs, hashbrowns, wheat toast, and the chipotle veggie sausage. The sausage was flavorful and had a nice texture, especially for a plant-based item. There were also many hot sauces to try which makes me happy as a heat queen. Service was quick and friendly. I would visit this place regularly if I lived in Missoula.

Fast and quick service! Food was fast and also scrumptious with decent portions. Definitely a busy spot but worth stopping at! (Huge biscuits!)

The location makes it very convenient to go to the very pleasant bookstore next door while waiting for a table - there is no shortage of customers even on a Wednesday late morning. The line is well-managed with a waiting area and restaurant pagers handed out. It seems like a place that is frequented as much by young people as retirees. They have a combo plate that includes two eggs, hash browns, a protein (I've so far only tried the corned beef hash), and two pancakes starting at 17 with upgrades available for the pancakes. It can easily be split for breakfast and offers a really good variety of things. The corned beef hash, hash browns, and pancakes are all top notch in my opinion (and the eggs are good eggs also). There are numerous Best Breakfast Winner posters hanging above the window to the kitchen and I don't think this place needs much support - they seem to be doing quite well - but in case this reaches someone who is visiting Missoula and doesn't know about it, it's well-worth a stop. Booth seating + the diner counter if you want the up close service and view into the kitchen grill. This is where I planted myself, down from a couple locals. The BBIT (Best Breakfast In Town) caught my eye. Hash browns (not quite crispy enough) topped with scrambled eggs, cheese and onion with 1 slice country ham, 2 slices bacon (limp), 2 sausage links and toast and jam for under $20 with the never empty coffee cup. Coffee creamer from the little pods and minimal choice of non-nutritive sweetener (maybe Splenda). Service and food cook and delivery were fast. Not going to win any awards, but you'll leave satisfied you got a hearty breakfast in a local diner with plenty of pictures on the walls that show this place has been around for a while. Plenty of parking in front and around side. Easy on and off the highway (I-90) in Missoula MT
