I wish I could give my experience tonight a ZERO! We have been customers on Rudinos for 13 years. We ordered take out tonight on line. The grinders were made as ordered. The calzone and Italian rolls were wrong. Calzone was to have pepperoni, fresh basil, and fresh garlic. I put in the order myself. The calzone we got had very little cheese with pepperoni and mushrooms. The Italian rolls were to have sausage, bacon and mushrooms. It had pepperoni and mushrooms. When I called to speak to a manager, I was told that I didn't order that way and "thats how the order was done". I don't want anything free. I just want my order to be correct. read more

I do love the rooftop but the fact that I can't even get what I ordered is sad. It's worse then that. I ordered 12 boneless wings and after being served 12 bone in about 30 mins later I got my 9(more like 7 with breading fried boneless wings) wings after my companion received her meal. They acknowledged their mistake and offered half off my one meal. Very sad they knew they made a mistake and couldn't even comp one item of meals and drinks. read more

Really, this is just typical bar food, except it's pretty good pizza and it's got a ridiculously cool rooftop. I have visited this location off and on over 10 years. I'm a big fan of sitting outside on patios and rooftops, but wish the smoke was a little more spread out. Walked over for dinner Monday night. Went upstairs and out to the rooftop patio for dinner. We each had ice water. I ordered a small garden salad and the Buffalo Chicken dip. He ordered a slice of pizza. I kind of regretted not ordering pizza....but my small salad with Italian Vinaigrette was very good. That pizza looked delicious and he enjoyed it. We weren't as impressed with the Buffalo Chicken dip. It was kind of soupy, had small chunks of chicken mixed in with pieces of celery. The celery mixed in just kind of threw the flavoring off, especially when we'd think we were scooping up chicken with the pita and then take a bite only to discover it was celery. Service was very good. They even gave me bandaids when I messed up my heels on the walk over. Really fun place to chill and good snacks. read more

I really love this place. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the beer selection is good and so are the specials, and the waitstaff are fairly prompt. Players from the Hurricanes make appearances on occasion and the cheesy bread sticks are the size of a small pizza! This is one of my favorite summer places for food and beers. The only reasons it did not get five stars: The inside bar is small, dark, and a little shabby. The patio also gets kind of smokey. I realize there is no other place to go, but the smoke can bother people around it while eating. All around, this place is great for a cold beer on a warm day! read more

Brit and I came here after my birthday celebration evening. I had had a few too many and lunch was my first meal of the day. The wait staff was friendly and were quick to serve our beverages. The food was pretty good. Sandwiches were large and the fries were tasty. The bar area was relatively empty, but the rooftop patio was pretty lively. We managed to find a shaded spot in front of the TV's and were able to relax and enjoy our time together and the weather. read more

Just when you thought the pizza couldn't get any pricier, it did. THEE most expensive pizza in the state, by far...but at least they finally stopped serving them on cardboard. Took over 15 years for that to sink in. The Nachos suck...maybe if they gave you more than 10 chips they might be worth it. Overall, very pricey for fast-food quality stuff. I've come here countless times back before covid and now that they have live music back. In the past two months, I've been here 3 times. Now, I used to be a server myself, so no hate to anyone, but dang sometimes the service is really slow. Like there's one small patio rooftop which tends to fill up, and then 3 servers but we seem to only see our server once every 15 minutes, maybe 30 for her to actually talk to us (this is specific to my server last evening but in general service has been slow). Last night particularly annoyed me not because of the service but because of my food. I love their spicy garlic parm wings, but I am a flats lover. They don't allow all flat orders (they used to) so I order it regular hoping I'll get a somewhat even mix of flats and drums. My order of 10 wings came out with 2 flats. My server said the kitchen isn't able to do 5/5 split, as I looked at my dad's plate of wings with 5 flats and 5 drums. When I asked if there was anyway I could get a couple more flats, she said the kitchen said yes but they would have to charge me. I politely declined and mentioned that it would be a good idea to mention that to people before they order in the future. Anyway, I was super disappointed and felt as though they could've done more to satisfy or at least improve their service to me. Typically where I would work a manager would come by to chat with you and I'm obviously not the type of person to request a manager. Overall, just disappointing. Probably won't be back there for a little while. read more

If you want bad service and average food this is the place for you. It would be a great place to go if they replaced management and the workers. This place is within walking distance to my house but I rather risk getting a DUI than go there. Every time I go there I have to wait to get service and I have to ask for the common items that every restaurant provides like silverware and plates. I ordered a pitcher of beer but I had to wait 15 minutes for glasses. If you want your check ask for it when you sit down because if you wait until you're ready to leave you will be waiting another 30 minutes. I love the rooftop atmosphere but something needs to be done about the service. read more

The slowest, most disorganized service I have seen. Servers are a rare sight and twice I've been here and twice the servers thought someone else was serving me until I spoke up. I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first but it seems like a consistent pattern. The servers work their ass off but there simply aren't enough of them. That said, the food is awesome and the atmosphere is even better. These things are the reason I come back despite the service. There's nowhere else quite like it in the area. If they had even average service I would have given five stars. read more

Great Pizza. Rooftop bar is nice inside or out. Fav sandwich is a Cuban Grinder with crinkle cut fries. Fav Pizza is cheese - baked extra long until it has brown spots and is perfect! For something really different - order a pepperoni roll. You really can't go wrong here if you are hungry for pizza or a sub (grinder) and a cold draft beer. Disappointed We stopped in for lunch to see what it was like. We ordered pub style burgers that were over cooked an dry. The bat tender apparently doesn't know how to make a simple Long Island iced tea and sent some kind of fruit juice drink and even that didn't taste good. Typical bar. Typical bar food. Typical bar service. Some notable entries, are the nachos which are delicious and the pazookie (pretty hard to screw up a warm cookie and ice cream). I want this place to be better than it is. The rooftop is so great on a cool summer night and the ambiance is great, but the food and service are just so average it's hard to pick this place unless there's a game on. Even at that, there have been times I've had to leave this place and go down to another Rudinos or Fox and the Hound to see the game because they're showing our game outside and it's 20 degrees or raining or too sunny to see the game. There's no good solution as the upstairs is so small, but I just wish this was different because it's so convenient to me and the food isn't awful. read more

Why do people like this place? The roof top is novel, but otherwise there is really nothing here worth while. The menu is far from exciting. The food is terrible and the place stinks like stale beer. Service was fine, but the clientele was rough. Lots of drunk townees. I would not recommend wasting your time or money. For the record here, we got pizza and wings. These are two foods that taverns should be able to do really well. The wings were not crispy at all. The blue cheese dressing for the wings was runny and had no blue cheese in it. Updating my review here as I have an important announcement to make: this establishment makes the BEST dirty martinis - EVER!!! And I mean 'porn star' dirty --- yummmmmm. I had to have three JUST to make SURE this wasn't some sort of fluke!! After my scientific assessment of the libation, I did conclude and deem appropriately that Rudino's Rooftop bar will be my go-to watering hole. So I decided to spend my Friday night at this restaurant. First thing I noticed when I walked in was that nobody was there to greet or seat me. Secondly it was so empty and lifeless the environment was dull. As I sat down the server that took my order came back and told me that the kitchen was backed up and offered appetizers for the wait. The server returns with two bags of Sun Chips... If they considered that an appetizer then I couldn't imagine my entree to meet my expectation. The fact that the kitchen was backed up was ridiculous I mean I could fit all the customers they had in my car. My fries and spicy chicken pizza finally came out 45mins later and it looked tasted like warm cardboard and cheese. I received the bill which came out to be $35.... Over priced poor quality food, dull environment and awful service ranks this restaurant a 1 star in my books. I will give this restaurant a second chance someday but until then I wouldn't recommend this Rudinos& Grinders to anyone. read more

We just had a family night there today and I have to say the food and the atmosphere was excellent!!! We definitely will go back for date night without the kids to sit on the lovely rooftop. We ordered the cheese and garlic pizza and ordered a 16" bacon pizza and a 16" chicken and!! spinach... OMG mouth watering meal all night!!! A summer time favorite spot!! read more

Great rooftop... Good beer... Decent food. It's a basic sports bar type atmosphere and you aren't really going to get the fine dinning experience here but if you are looking for a place to go hang out, have some beer and maybe some fries, burger or pizza you are at the right spot. On a game day this place can get kinda crowded but the service seems to keep pace. I'll go back here from time to time if for no other reason than the rooftop patio. This place has a great outdoor bar area on the rooftop. We came here on a Saturday and there were excellent (meaning cheap) specials on all Bud beers and mimosas. The cheese fries were delicious and the waitstaff kept the beers coming. My only complaint is that we had a difficult time getting our waitress to change a television from a game that had ended and ended up on ice skating... It got to the point that people were getting a little bit grumpy. Although it's pretty far from downtown Raleigh I'd come back if I was in the area. read more

I have been a frequent visitor here for years and it never fails to please. This location has 2 floors. The downstairs is the traditional restaurant that has a buffet during the afternoon and the upstairs is the bar and uncovered rooftop seating. With a selection of pizza and grinders they serve pretty good food. Most of what they serve is food you eat with your hands. So don't expect steaks and chicken breast. For me you can't beat the honey mustard chicken grinder and the chicken parm pizza. Most of the 9" grinders are ~$6 with chips and a pickle. Pizzas are in $10-14 range a little more for the specialty pizzas. Now my favorite place is the rooftop bar on the weekends in the spring. It is packed and the place to be in N Raleigh. On most nights you have to show up by 9 to get a table and if not you might have to sit inside or wait for someone to leave. If you are not looking to drive downtown and want a younger crowd then most bars in N Raleigh Rudinos is a good choice. read more

Pizza was delicious. Waitress was also amazing. Boyfriend knocked over his drink (which went into my lap). Waitress brought him half a beer to compensate for the half he spilled (free) & she only charged us 1/2 price for the second slice of pizza ordered because mine was covered in beer. Returned with the family so i ordered 2 pizzas for me & my husband, one of which was the macaroni & cheese pizza with bacon. Best pizza ever!!! Definitely wouldn't consider going back. I went on a Saturday night with a large group (about 14) of friends for a birthday. We got there at 9pm and sat on the rooftop for about 3 hours just drinking beer, some people ordered food. About midnight, some of our group started to get their tabs, but most of us were staying and they claimed they "called last call 30 minutes ago." I don't know if they are used to closing early (it wasn't incredibly busy), but the it says they were open until 2:00am so we planned on staying later than 12:30. Don't worry we won't come in at all next time. read more

slowest service on earth. took 45 min for a Thai chicken flat bread.....were they killing and cleaning the chicken? 20min for a beer refill.....ridiculous. if you are short staffed then hire more servers. food isn't worth the wait. may try again....but doubt it I will give them this. they discounted our bill and was girls first night so understandable but they need more staff read more
