I've been looking for real Mexican food in Frisco for a very long time and finally found it! The atmosphere may not be what you expect but don't let that dissuade you from enjoying the authentic, fresh food. We ordered street tacos de pollo, tostada de picadillo and a gordita de pollo en salsa roja. You can tell that everything is homemade. The flavors and seasonings were not overpowering and things weren't drowning in sauce like you'll find at many Mexican restaurants. Green salsa was good and spicy. I ordered fajita street tacos and one rajas y queso Gordita. The fajita tacos had SO many hard and tough pieces, basically they throw in everything so it looks like you're getting more meat. You're getting more of something, you just can't eat it. They didn't have carnitas or barbacoa or lengua. They had ground beef, cabeza (head of some sort) and chicken. Ground beef looked sad and when you think of street tacos, ground beef doesn't fit the bill. The corn tortillas were cold and falling apart. I was most dissatisfied with my rajas and cheese gordita. It had literally no cheese, plenty of rajas but cheese was gone. And no it wasn't melted, it just wasn't there. Will not be giving them another try. read more

Went to Rudy's for breakfast tacos for the first time this morning. Met Rudy, asked for his recommendation and got a chorizo and bean, a potato and egg and a potato, ham and egg breakfast tacos. All were fantastic. We shared and fed 4 adults. Great value. Great local small business. We will be regulars. read more

Just tried Rudy's for the first time last weekend and it did not disappoint! Food was delicious, portions were very generous, and service was great. The tortillas made in house are pillow-y and flour-y (yum!) and the red and green salsa is really good. Breakfast stops at 10:00 at which time the meats ( pastor, barbacoa, etc.) start. We had a variety of their items and they were all delicious. I wish their egg and chorizo taco was available on Saturdays and I would definitely be going by for it. Keep it up Rudy! Food: gorditas, burritos with flour tortillas...the menu changes daily with a constant or two. They had the option of bistek and pork; I tried them both. Each Gordita came with onion and cilantro inside alongside the meat. $5 price for both. Red and green sauce provided. Flavor was okay...onions overpowered. Gordita shell has some chew to it. These are small...maybe a little too small for the price point, jury is still out. Service & Atmosphere: fast and friendly. Minutes to get the order. They have a few seats/tables in the back of the gas station for dining in, but I opted to grab mine to-go. Absolutely fabulous food. The breakfast tacos are out of this world. Get here by 11:00 for them and they do run out. The green chili stew is loaded with meat, spicy and delicious. Coleslaw is great. Dressing really tasty. Meat sandwiches are loaded with tasty, tender Barbeque. But save room for peach cobbler a la mode! Very friendly people and prices are great. read more

For starters, this place is INSIDE the chevron gas station. If it wasn't for Yelp and a small sign outside, it's nearly impossible to find this place. Once you find it, you will get amazing, authentic Mexican food at very reasonable prices and impeccable service. (Rudy is very friendly and really cares about the food.) Only opportunity I see for improvement would be "fresher" tacos, as in meat that is cooked to order instead of precooked. I understand this will impact the time but I believe it would be worth the wait. And more salsa options. read more

This is one of those locals only places. Everything is authentic and served at the back corner of a gas station. As you sit and wait for your order to arrive you will notice the customers include construction workers, gardeners, soccer moms and kids. Everyone who knows this place loves it. Good Food, Friendly Staff. This is nice little place to grab some authentic Mexican food. Rudy the owner is really friendly and makes sure you have everything you need for your meal. The menu includes your normal tacos and burritos but Rudy's also adds Gorditas to their menu which is a crispy pastry filled with your choice of meat, kind of like a meat pocket. We tried the bistek (steak cooked with onions, tomatoes and pepper), egg and chorizo, and shredded beef in all three variations of tacos, burritos and gordiatas. We also tired the rice, beans, and menudo their menudo still need to be cooked a little longer but that was okay for me because I was able to to heat it up at home.... I have to give Rudy five starts just because he really cares about the customers and tries to make them happy with his food. They sell tacos with handmade flour tortillas, gorditas, and also have everyday specials. Mexican food made from scratch every day! Better food than those chain restaurants and for a few dollars.
