Best bar in Nebraska! Both the food and the cocktails are awesome and the atmosphere is 2nd to none.

The onion rings are huge, definitely enough to go around for everyone. The breading is what got me. They were cooked perfectly, but tasty and crunchy at the same time. I ordered salmon for my main dish, with a side of mashed potatoes. My toddler had grilled jumbo shrimp with green beans. My husband got the breakfast enchiladas. Everything was great. The portions are generously sized. Service was quick, all the employees are welcoming. The ambiance feels quaint and cozy. I'm excited to come back here to try more items off of the menu!

Finally said hello I ordered an IPA (very good beer but visit went down from there) there were dirty glasses amassed on the end of the bar a gentleman asked her why and she said her drain is clogged she can't wash them. He put on a glove reached in the drain and pulled out piles of limes lemons garnish and told her "it's clogged because you put all that shit in there" she came back with "to be fair it's not just me." Glasses remained. I then ordered a club sandwich (California style which is added avocado) while waiting I took a pic of the beer taps go share with my husband because we love beer. Because of hos questions I (waited for her eating and typing again) and asked if they sold cans or crowlers to go. She had to ask someone if they still have cans (no) and had no idea what a crowler was. I'm visiting so a growler wasn't practical. Food comes. No detectable avocado. I swear she was going to reach over and spread apart my sandwich but she was annoyed and told me "well I rang it up right!" Like that matters. Eating decent sandwich and i notice a nitro tap. Ask her about it she explained it 1000% incorrectly but i got a splash anyway. It was very good and I ordered one. Check comes oops needs to take off avocado upgrade (didn't leave it long enough for me to look harder. 2nd attempt realize she didn't charge me happy hour price for the beers huffs away to change that. While she was occupied a manager type person was near me and said "how's it going" my answer was "beers good but she's dumb as a rock" ok not the best word choice but I was beyond frustrated at that point. He snaps at me about how horrible it is to call people names )I didn't call her anything just an observation) he starts to madly comp my check (I had asked for nothing) she asks why and he told HER what I said then She address me "well that's a mean thing to say" I now have 3/4 of a beer left and I'm sitting at a bar with a pissed off bartender. He won't let me explain or in anyway tell him what happened so I went and sat at a small table with 2 empty beers on it so I don't have to stare at her. He comes over and loudly busses the table without a word just a dirty look. So I finished my beer and left. PS glasses still not washed woman still picking at food and playing with the register. Don't live there so won't have the chance to check it out again but as a beer lover.. very nice beers. service gets an F

We ordered desserts at the end and made sure we were apart of the rewards to make sure we could get a free dessert! We got the Brownie and cookie dough cheesecake to-go. The brownie was to die for so soft and moist even after 10 minutes of sitting. We haven't tried the cheesecake yet we were so full, but it looks insanely good. The Rueben was great, my boyfriend ordered it his only complaint was the sauce was a little more on the oilier side and had more of a vinegary taste than what we prefer. The sandwich was so good, I was worried about it being too much pickle, honestly wish it had more of a pickle taste to be honest. I think what would make it even better is if the chicken was fried rather than grilled. We overall had a great experience!

I decided to try a classic Reuben while in Lincoln (when in Rome). It was so delicious. The sandwich appeared to be thin n the photos so I ordered double meat. I also subbed out loaded cosmik fries. The fries were very spicy but tasty. In addition, I ordered a bowl of chili. The description and photo included cheese, chips and sour cream. When it arrived it was just chili. It was delicious even without the missing items. Because the order was not completed correctly, I can't give a 5 star for service. I have no comment about the atmosphere at the restaurant as I was involved in takeout.

First off, the ambiance in The City Pub is nice and friendly, with astroturf accent walls, concrete floors, and a big cityscape transport map mural. There's a bar with lots of TVs to catch a game, and comfy booths and tables all around if you're only there to eat. The service was great, and we were checked on multiple times to make sure our drinks were full and our food was great. The beer was cold and crisp (I had two different ones, and both were awesome). I went with friends, and we all enjoyed our meals. We started with the Brusssels Sprouts and while it wasn't the largest serving, they were excellent with a balsamic and candied pecans adding to the tangy sweetness. Entree-wise, I got the meatloaf, and it came with tasty gravy, mashed potatoes, and steamed veggies. Not too heavy for being meatloaf, but big on flavor! My friends got the Caesar Salad and the Pub Burger. Both were large portions and they really enjoyed what they chose. The fun ambiance, amazing service, and crisp drinks, The City Pub is definitely a place to stop if you're in La Vista and hungry or thirsty!

The upstairs is a totally different vibe, more loungey with a midcentury flare, and patio facing the astro. The menu is classic american food but with flare. Their caesars comes on a stalk of romaine, the crab rangoon is vertical, and the pizza is fantastic. The drinks and food are GREAT, but I do really like the walkablilty to things around it as well as the game room making this a family friend and fun night venue in a usually quiet omaha suburb.

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

But do not let that detour you from trying this gem. I usually like to grab one of my go-to orders, like the poutine burrito or the Croque Garcon Burger, plus whatever the daily special is. Sometimes the specials do not hit for me, but that is not their fault. It is a seat yourself space, but I have never had any issues finding a spot, usually by the time you order, someone has left. Despite the space being crowded whenever I come by, they do a great job of keeping the tables cleared and clean. Service has always been top-notch for me.
