HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - AVOID THIS PLACE! There's a reason they call it Discount Carpet -- you truly get what you pay for. The installation was cheap, poorly done, and the customer service was absolutely terrible. We had carpet installed in an elderly woman's home, and the seams in the living room are glaringly visible. When we brought it up, we were told it was "normal" and would "blend in over time." Nonsense. On top of that, there was a tack sticking up through the carpet that punctured our feet multiple times, causing them to bleed. When I called to address these issues, the front desk receptionist was rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. I would never recommend this company to anyone. There are plenty of professional installers out there who will do quality work for the same price--and treat customers with respect. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

We really liked the nice carpets we were shown which fell with our specified budget. Preferred to work with a local business rather than a large chain. We were given options for with total price of carpet/pad/install and were excited to move forward. The contract pricing was about 15% higher with added charges for travel and added charges for shipping the rug which we were not expecting. We had not seen these line item charges from other vendors. If you are on a budget, be sure to add some cushion over the total price you are quoted. read more

Don't let the name fool you! Although yes, the prices are great, the service is not discounted! Everyone is friendly, detail oriented and professional. I admit, we originally purchased our carpet through Home Depot, thinking it was the most economical with good quality and service. We were so wrong! After waiting 7 weeks, we were contacted by their installation company on a Friday to confirm the following Tuesday installation. Over the weekend we moved our 3 bedrooms and Living Room into our Dining room/Family Room to be ready for the carpet. On Monday at 2pm we received a call that they were canceling our Tuesday morning install due to over booking! No other options were available and they were not able to provide a definite date for the installation. After numerous calls and being told "sorry, we are having issues" we demanded our money back. Now what? We have our entire house moved into our dining room and no new carpet. We contacted Discount Carpets because of the other 5 star ratings on Yelp, it was the best decision we made!! The owner takes pride in his work and came out immediately to measure our rooms, we chose the carpet and waited only 2 weeks before the install. We couldnt be happier with the quality of service, carpet and installation. This taught us a great lesson, big box stores are not the way to go. If you want good quality service, go local. I tried finding a piece of vinyl to fit my tiny entryway and searched several stores in the area (Home Depot, empire flooring, just remnants). The lady at Discount Carpet was very nice and laid the actual vinyl rolls she had down on the floor so that we could see what they looked like as a whole piece and be able to measure, instead of the tiny samples that the other stores gave. Not only that, but the price she gave was half of what the other stores quoted us. Just Remnants tried to sell us on their most expensive products, but this lady showed us exactly what we had in mind so I felt very at ease with the purchase. OK but did not get the pad I wanted. Got the carpet we wanted at a good price. Dealing with the office staff was pleasant without too much hype and pressure. The installation was good. It took a little longer to get the carpet than originally claimed. I had several discussions with them about the type and quality of the pad, and after things were torn up, the crew brought in some pretty mediocre looking padding, not what I had been assured I was getting. I was told it would take a few more dollars (that I would have gladly paid) and more significantly at least 4 days with the floors torn up to get what we expected, so we ended up living with what they brought. OK so far, but not quite what we wanted. Get it in writing. Confirm materials before they start work. read more

Discount Carpets continues to provide us with amazing service! Over the weekend a charcoal-like substance ended up in patches on our new carpet. This morning I called to ask for assistance in properly removing the stain from the carpet. I was really nervous about trying a grocery store carpet cleaning product. I was given great advice.
