Absolutely hands down one of the worst restaurants I have been to. Our food all cane out a different times some food being 20 mins apart. By the time the last person got food everyone else was done. The burger tasted like someone had poured a whole thing of salt on top of it. We were the only ones sitting on patio and had orderd and had half our food before the restaurant even started getting busy but that's what the staff claimed was the reason behind the food delay. After talking to the manager once and explaining our situation ( we still had one person missing food at this point, and he looked at us and shook his head and shrugged shoulders), than when they brought our checks...after they still had done nothing to help fix it...we asked to see the manager a second time. When coming over he claimed well I took one of the burgers off what else do you want me to do. He gave no care that other food had come out late, other food was cold because we were waiting 20 mins for condiments for our burger, the fact that one person couldnt even eat the burger due to eat being so overly salty. Awful experience. Friend of mine came in in a tank. They said men in tanks aren't aloud however women are. So what happens if you're gay?! Or just a cool straight guy wearing a tank?! Part of a "gated compound." Don't go here for the food, as it was below average. The piano bar is fun, but if you have ever seen one, you have seen them all. Might be fun for a group of 1st timers, but the routines are old and tired. Beers are $4.50 and up for a domestic bottle. Abysmal customer service! Frowns are issued during training at this establishment. Baytown is a beautiful, resort, shopping and dining area, and one would expect to have amazing customer service. My friends and I came here for the sparkling wine festival, and found our way into the Rum Runner. We were faced with a frowning hostess when we walked in the door, and another frowny person that came over to ask if we needed a server. Our server smiled after I mentioned that no one in the restaurant was smiling. We were ready to leave and we hadn't seen our server, so I asked the bartender if we could pay. She put on her best bit..face and pointed at our server as she walked or of the kitchen. Long story short, don't come here because the employees are rude. I spoke to the manager who was receptive to my input, but didn't offer to do anything to improve our experience. I give this place mine and your thumbs down. read more

this place is located inside of a security guarded gated community. the community is consisted of many small parts of the neighborhood, and rum runner is in their own shopping square. when you approach the guard, they will give a parking slip, and you will be able to find parking inside of covered parking lot. the whole shopping area is full of bars, shops, activity structures, and restaurants. Rum runners is located right up the front, you won't miss it, and their signature frozen drinks were delicious. we didn't order any food as we came in for the entertainment. the bar has a duet piano stage, which two guys would perform every night at 8pm. i made the mistake on the first night as i assume the piano players would know how to play or sing the classics such as "close to you", or "at last". it turns out they had no idea what these are, nor knowing how to sing it. i then quickly realized that it is not the kind of the piano bar i expected, they sing whatever songs they can to get the most money out of ppl. like really just any songs.... then the place got really weird, there were this group of very young, but model looking men walked in started to dance with the older single women on the dance floor. at the beginning we thought they were friends, until one of the guys started to "dance" on top of one of the table with bunch of young girls sitting behind. 10 min after, we finally realized that these were "male entertainers" for ladies..lol...we weren't sure if that's their typical hang out on a friday night, or they were just so happen to be there. we left after we realized the place may have turned into something else, or even maybe more later...lol... anyways, it was definitely unexpected, and if you are adventures and brave like us, have a try! lol.... read more

This place has good food but the Hurricane Burger was the WORST burger I have ever had!!! It is a premade frozen party that you would get in elementary school. It was super dry and tasted like cat food. I could not believe it costs $12.. dat pastas on point though. read more

I definitely was not impressed by this place. Our server was terrible and did not smile once. We walked to her and asked if the restroom was upstairs and she didn't turn to say a word, she just nodded and continued on with what she was doing... very rude! Our food was nothing special at all. The service was horrendous, the only explaination is that management allows it. I nearly bumped into a waitress walking with a full tray behind me. It was packed standing room only. This waitress glared and gave me the evil eye like I was in a high school hallway and bumped into a bully. She was glaring for at me a VERY long time. I should have left then. I shouldn't have let it get to me, but was very intimidated and scared. Even though i smiled and tried to brush it off I thought this girl was going to come after me for not seeing her. She was behind me, she should have looked out for me. This girl was of some ethnicity other than Caucasian. To add to my terrible rum runners experience was a terror of a bar tender. She apparently thought I was not going to leave her a tip, because I took the $2 change she gave me and took it off the bar. I was going to add to it, is why I took it off the bar. Probably not a good choice, but I did have a few drinks so I wasn't 100%. Not our first time. Usually love the place. This time took forever to get a first order drink/acknowledgement that we there and seated. The piano players were jerks this time. Threw away our requests and kept our money. If you don't like your job get a new one. Went in there to watch the NBA game and listen to some good music. Televisions sucked! Need more! Need bigger TV's! And as soon as someone else asked to watch the softball games they changed the channel and the group never looked at the tv again! Very disappointing and will definitely not recommend going back there again until all patrons are treated equal!!!!!! I might add our food was okay once we got it but we definitely felt like we were not welcome! And I might add our bill was over $200!! Our waiter was more concerned about the people on the patio and it was early in the evening before 10:00 when under 21 is allowed. Just got back in town and saw the review by Sharon B. Sounds as if she must have been out of line, as I am a regular there (as a homeowner in Sandestin), and I find it hard to believe her account. I know all of their personnel and can guarantee you no such event occurred without warrant. I know of only one doorman there who is prior military and I know he is always gracious and accommodating to EVERY customer there. I know he has been out for some time but was attached to a nearby group as he knows and has served with many of my husbands' friends. I challenge anyone to go to Rumrunners, be reasonable, abide by their rules, and NOT have a great time. The entertainment is always amazing, the staff is always helpful, and the security has always been on point and willing to go above and beyond their required duties. If Sharon B. had an incident with the staff then she obivously was in violation of the rules or causing some other problems. The only conflict I saw that night was a couple who was giving alcoholic beverages to their kids who had not been allowed into the bar because they were underage. (obviously because they had not armbands and were standing outside the rope line on the side of the bar where I go to smoke). Their security has always been top notch since we moved here last November. The managers would not allow anyone to be gruff or aggressive without good reason. That's one reason I go there while my husband is deployed. I would trust my daughter with any staff member there ( she is well over 21 though). I think this Sharon B. character must be embarrassed or just plain ignorant to make such unfounded claims. Just go to Rumrunners and judge for yourself. This place SUCKS do NOT eat here. I've worked in the restaurant industry for almost 7 years and this is NOT worth your money. First things first, it took ten minutes for our waiter to come over and take our drink order. Second, I ordered a vodka and pineapple juice. They poured pineapple purée and I believe water instead of actual juice. My entire party of four found black sludge throughout our ice halfway through the drinks. We were trying to be nice and think maybe it was just a bad layer of ice...Next round my fiancée and I switched to vodka red bull and they were fine but my sister in law found a piece of plastic in her drink! It was remade although no one was apologetic. The bartender said she would get someone to clean out her ice bin but I highly doubt that happened. Now, the bill comes and we were charged $30 for cheap vodka and another $20 just for the splashes of red bull. I understand red bull may be an up charge as a mixer, but in 99% of places it is not. It would have been nice for our waiter to tell us about this extra charge beforehand which is what we told the manager. After complaining about the price and the fact our first round of drinks was disgusting he was a complete jerk and non apologetic at all. His only response was "well that's why I don't drink here" and proceeded to put his hands on my brother in law. Awful awful AWFUL customer service and I hope this guy shapes up or gets fired ASAP.
