This location perfectly located and has such great potential for bigger and better things. It just has lots of flaws. First off I understand it's a family business but when you have your 14 year old serving and two toddlers running around they should not be charging the prices they charge for entrees. If it was a whole a wall spot this is expected but for how the ambience and interior is set, it makes such a downfall. I understand a lot of people reviews complaining that the dishes are not like home but this is a fusion of cultures and flavors so don't put your expectations that high. The price set for the amount of food you get is not really something the area should be okay with. I order a chicken a plancha and literally got a skirt chicken for a total of $16.50 . Don't get me wrong it had good seasoning but quantity over price is not there. I would suggest to start a social media account, better your portioning, better professional customer service.

If food made with love and care matters to you, Rumba is a place you will enjoy. The family behind the restaurant puts effort into having you feel welcomed with warm, inviting food that is both authentic and made of quality ingredients, put together with care. They are willing to guide you through the menu and meal. If you don't know Latin Cuisine, they will take you through the meal, giving you a genuinely enjoyable dish for your taste. What is nice is how rich the pictures are here so you can select and learn the names. You may want to plan a to-go box from the start and save room for dessert. The bakery looks from scratch and one-of-a-kind.

Tried Rumba Latin Cuisine for the first time yesterday and have to say that everything was absolutely delicious and very flavorful!! Also the owners and their family were very sweet! If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend checking it out! We will definitely be back.

Ropa Vieja and Moro, was beautifully plated and tasted Amazing!

The food was the most Authentic I have ever had in this State. I couldn't recommend a better place for Latin food, the menu had so many delicious options. The restaurant was immaculate and the decor was beautiful. Customer service was awesome, the owner and his family were very personable. Don't take my word for it, check em out and you'll be glad you did!

Late night dinner with the family. Ordered the cuban sandwich with yuca fries. The sandwich was splendid with the right ingredients and substantial. The yuca was good but only 3 pieces. The server was committed to provide a great service. The tropical atmosphere is comforting and clean.

I ordered online and was missing my dessert (tornillos). Went I asked for it, the server told me they didn't have the item. I asked for a refund and they didn't want to give me the money back or Exchange the item for another dessert. I had to wait more than 15minutes for the server to talked to the owner and get a dessert in exchange. I don't feel like coming back, I wasn't greeted at the door, and was treated very bad. Also I asked for extra chimichurri abd this was denied.

    Not good at all.

I ordered supposedly Puerto Rican red beans (yuk) white rice and churassaco steak. The beans are NOT Puerto Rican. There's no ham and the stew is watery not thick like Puerto Ricans make it, seems like the beans were only seasoned with sazon. Puerto Ricans use tomato sauce for thicker bean stew. The food is very bland and not tasty, or seasoned well. Wouldn't recommend Rumba as cooking authentic Puerto Rican food. I would maybe give a one star. Because I Hangry and would've ate anything.

This place is all around delicious. Originally from Puerto Rico and I had a taste from home and it was authentic. This place you can come back every time and have something different and you won't be disappointed. The staff and the care they put into this restaurant reflects in its amazing food. Must try!

Churrasco with cilantro rice/maduros . I added the egg. Sorry that it is half eaten but I always forget to take the picture before hand :(

We've visited Rumba about 5 times now. I'm glad there's somewhere I can get empanadas/bandeja paisa . My husband and I just moved from Miami so this is a nice place to go to when we need our latin food fix. I get the churrasco with cilantro rice (soooo yummy) . Service is ALWAYS great. Very clean place.

Went in for an after-dinner drink and got pulled into a full Star Wars takeover, complete with Han Solo frozen in carbonite on the door, a Mos Eisley Cantina bar setup, and Star Wars shows playing in the background. The theme changes every 3-4 months, so what you see now won't be there forever. Reservations are usually required and we got lucky thanks to a local host who knew someone. Worth planning ahead. Drinks come from the in-house "Cantina" and lean into the theme without feeling gimmicky. Food runs off the menu from the Wobbly Olive, the main bar hidden behind a door in the same spot, and it held up. The Outer Rim Provisions menu had solid options. The biggest surprise was the noise level. You'd expect a themed cocktail bar to be loud, but you could actually hold a conversation. Our server was on point, brought drinks fast, and even remembered the names of the people we were with. Go for a date night or anytime you want a low-key cocktail experience with serious attention to detail. Make a reservation. Peek into the Wobbly Olive on your way out.

The creativity that goes into each one of their themes that rotates quarterly-ish, is so impressive! They even had an old book for guests to sign that looked like it could've belonged in the Lord of the Ring movies. The drink I got was a spinoff of an old-fashioned, which I love, but it was really just an old-fashioned. I couldn't taste the difference, but it was a great old-fashioned! :-)

I wish I'd taken a picture of my meal, but I didn't think about it until I was halfway through - trust me, it was good. Where I went wrong was in the cocktail I ordered, and I blame that on not liking martinis and being in a martini bar. I didn't know what I was ordering - I just knew I didn't want a martini, or beer, and I wanted something different than wine. Being in a bar known for its speak easy and in the vibe of the prohibition-themed menu items, I figured why not try a Pimm's Cup. I still don't know what Pimm's No. 1 liqueur is, but I can tell you I DID NOT like the first sip. (I'm a mule fan!) After that, though, it was OK. My only real complaint is that they sat my husband and I against the wall at a two-top, except my seat backed up against the bar (with barely enough room to pull out the chair), so my seat was squished between the wall on my right, the bar behind me (that I felt like if I moved too much I was going to hit my head), and a barstool right next to me on the left...that had someone sitting in it which meant their booty was eye level. It was manageable but noticeably too tight of a fit. Since this location is in a shopping center and close to a movie theater, parking close by is plentiful. Granted, we dined on a Wednesday evening around 730p.

Surprisingly very good. Had a decent wine list. Seems to be a hot spot since it filled up quickly.read more

Fortunately, unlike what many of those reviews claimed, the service was exceptional. We came in very casual clothing (nothing even remotely fancy) and were not treated any different than those who came in suits. In fact, the service was so good I can confidentially say this may have been the best service I have ever had in a restaurant. Every employee, even those outside of our server, were very willing to help even if just overhearing one of us mention a problem. Our server, Josh, was so good at anticipating exactly what we needed and had great reccomendations to improve our experience, and was very respectful. The food was lovely as well, I ordered the ribeye and it was very tender (cut through like butter), flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My drink was a mocktail mule, a reccomendation from our server, and it was GREAT. For dessert I got a strawberry mousse and it was so delicious I found myself using my fork to scrape out every last bit of it from the cup. The prices here are quite high: for a bill of 4 drinks (malbec wine and mocktail mule), 2 appetizers (popovers and fried goat cheese- a great combo), 2 steaks (ribeye and filet mignon), and 2 desserts (Yuzu black sesame cake and strawberry mousse), ended up as a bill of about $250 before tip, but it was definitely worth it. This isnt the kind of place id say you go every week, more of a place for a special occasion, so the prices feel a bit more rational, and the atmosphere definitely makes it clear this place is fancy.

The atmosphere is upscale but still warm and comfortable. We decided to sit in the bar area rather than wait for a table in the main dining room, and I'm glad we did. Joel was our server and he was fantastic. He gave us excellent recommendations for both food and wine and was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Having a great server can really elevate a dining experience, and Joel was exceptional. We started with the Hamachi Crudo (4/5) and Shrimp Cocktail (5/5). Next was the Local Greens salad 5/5, which completely blew me away. The goat cheese, fresh herbs, and dressing were perfectly balanced--so much flavor for what sounds like such a simple salad. For our entrée, we shared the bone-in ribeye 5/5, which was more than enough for two and cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere, excellent food, and outstanding service. Cowboy Star is officially my new favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs!
