Another chain in UT Valley...wooo. It has fairly decent food. Salads are better than their over cooked bowls with 3x the amount of oil anyone could ever need. Sauces and dressings are solid, nothing amazing, but decent. Service is usually quick but then again we call in our order, so the wait has not ever been too long. If they could learn to cook fries their sweet potato fries could be good with their version of fry sauce. Sadly when I've ordered them they are mushy, like they microwaved them from the freezer. I ate here last week with my family and loved it. It is Hawaiian themed, with a touch of Caribbean flavor. It all works somehow and the result is a very fun place to eat. Their signature dishes are the rice bowls. I tried the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and it was outstanding. The chicken definitely tasted like it was right off the grill and the sauce was powerful. I also tried some of the Luau Pork and it was soooo good--tender, juicy and addictive. You have your choice of noodles or 3 different rices (white, brown, or Rumbi (coconut)). These are all good options. The Rumbi rice is incredible, but only try it IF you love coconut. It was very strong, which was fine with me. Their bowls come in half-size ($7.19) or full-size (only $1.00 more). The full-size were ginormous--very filling. We shared the sweet potato fries, which I STRONGLY recommend. They also feature salads, fish dishes (the volcano-blackened mahi or salmon looked incredible), burgers, and even fish tacos. Hungry G. readers know I'm seriously addicted to fish tacos, so I must return to try them. The Kahuna Burger (2 patties, pineapple, cheese, and all the fixings) at a neighboring table looked really good, so I think I'll have to try that too. read more

Clean and pleasant atmosphere.the service was OK as well.however,the food is just bland.its as authentic Hawaiian as taco bell is authentic Mexican. The food wasn't bad,it just wasn't very good either. Other than the fact that everything is way more expensive than it used to be The service has gotten worse as well. I went in to get tacos for taco Tuesday. I hadn't gone in a while and normally people know what they are doing. But this time they had a whole new staff that seemed confused. I ordered chicken tacos as the kid struggled to get in down in the computer and sat down in an almost empty restaurant. My food took about 15 minutes to come out and it wasn't chicken. Update Review: The service seems to be all over the place. Sometimes I'll go and it's great and other times it's horrible. The salads are just as inconsistent. The Voodoo Chicken Salad used to be a standard part of my diet, but now that the prices are higher and it's a little different every time I get it I don't eat here as often. I honestly was shocked over how high the ratings are. This place isn't horrible but i went in looking for somewhat authentic Hawaiian food. What I got from their bowl was chicken that was pre cooked and cubed like you get at costco served over "noodles" that was plain old spaghetti. Came to Orem for a wedding and had some downtime to kill. Looked up local food in the area and well, there wasn't much to choose from. We found Rumbi through Yelp and wanted to try it out. The neighboring noodle bar didn't look too appetizing to my friends and I (we're all asian too!)... The atmosphere is like a knock off of the chain: Island's here in California. The idea is similar to Wahoo's Fish Taco where you order and get a table sign with a # and a "waitress" brings you your food. I ordered the Rumbi Burger and it wasn't bad...nor was it amazing. It was quite oily and i'm glad I told them no mayo. . . who knows how much more oil would have came out of that bun. I opted for the chips and salsa since my friends go the fries. The chips are straight out of the bag. The salsa, on the other hand, is really good. I don't know if it's made from scratch but it has a sweet and tangy taste to it. Not bad...I just wish I got better, less salty chips to go with it. Other than that, it was fairly priced and was just well, average. But in the context of Orem, it was pretty damn good. Needless to say there is Red Mango next door which helped. I'll be reviewing that next! read more

This is a great place and the Mahi tastes amazing. The rice has an awesome Hawaiin seasoning as well, and the staff is super friendly. They even retroactively applied a coupon for us after we ordered because we forgot about it when we ordered. Make sure to try the chocolate lava cake. It's delicious. read more

Overall this place is pretty good. The service is up and down, even in the same visit. When asking for recommendations the girl wasn't overly helpful and only said the pork was great. We've ordered catering for the office from Rumbi for ~75 people and there was plenty of food. The catering portions seemed to be a little rice/noodle heavy, but maybe that's just everyone taking scoops of the pork and chicken. Still, even with short notice they were able to deliver and went out of their way to get things taken care of. Rice bowls are good. No extra charge for the brown rice. The full size is only a $1 more than the half. Sweet potato fries are good but not really for catering. It's hard to find many things to complain about the food. Overall meets expectations. Nothing too special, but nice atmosphere and good food. read more

I've eaten there once before, a few months ago, and thought it was delicious. I was super hungry and really looking forward to my rice bowl. I could not have been more disappointed. I had the grilled chicken and white rice bowl. Not only was there very little chicken, but the rice was more like rice paste. The customer service was barely decent. We were not happy with our food whatsoever. The vegetables were barely lukewarm and soggy. They tasted like Walmart frozen vegetables. I always get the Volcano (Salmon) and it's really good for a $12 meal. The Rumbi rice is good too, it's a coconut flavored rice. We went on a Monday and you get a free kids meal with an Adult purchase and thst was a nice surprise. They were also very fast with our food and we had a big party. The side I got for my daughter was the mand and cheese. She ate all of it, but I was disappointed it the quality of it. If I were paying full price for it I would have been mad. I'm sure they have better sides. The girl ttr taking the orders was very quiet and shy, I could barely hear her. My dad got something he didn't want because the communication was bad on her part. Used to be the best salmon I've had almost anywhere but when we ordered to go this time it was a bit fishy and I could hardly finish my piece. Also the mandarin oranges on my salad tasted like they were spoiled. They must be suffering from the recession? They hardly give you any rice and the salad is not filling and the price went up. It costs $14+. I love how they have brown rice though. But come on, rice is cheap! It wouldn't cost them more than 50 cents to scoop another cup into it. When I saw the meal I thought it was the half-size or something. I'm a runner and I need something to fill me up. The manager said that people waste the rice so much that that is why they give less. I think if we pay for it we should decide whether or not to waste it. It would be nice to get some hot vegetables or a little more salad with this meal. It is 60% meat, 30% rice, 10% vegetables. I would recommend lowering the price to $10 and reducing the salmon to 6 oz (it looks like 10 oz right now), doubling the rice and vegetables for a more balanced meal. It should be 30% meat, 40% rice, and 30% vegetables. The manager said you can ask for more rice for free, but they reduced the rice because of complaints about so much rice since it was just a cheap filler. read more
