Like others have said it isn't the best but it really is a good value IF you can get service. Lets talk about service. Here a waitress or waitresses will walk by you several times before acknowledging you much deigning you with any service, better hope you don't get a dirty table (commonplace) because they may try to give you another bill, well we were told after waiting 10 mins at at a dirty table that she thought it was ours. The only restaurant I consider myself a regular. The waitstaff are fantastic and the breakfast portions are huge and tasty.

The food gets 2.8 stars the price point gets 5 stars so I will average it out as a 4 star joint all in all. Definitely a hole in the wall although you cannot beat the platter for 2 aka 4 for 24.95 or something like that for a meat platter with chicken steak falafel grape leaves kafta and a small salad aka bigger than most need for 3 people and hummus with tons of vegetables and at least 4 different sauces not forgetting the pita with butter. Will fill the whole table up and there are some other great choices like the gyro meat or hand cut yum yum fries =} read more

Really enjoyed this place. Their long island teas are very tasty and absolutely huge. They have a limit of 2 per visit, I think they said there are 8 shots in each? that could be wrong, but they very good all the same. The food was good, hummus was a little bland, but the meal for 2 made up for it. It came with all kinds of appetizers, salad, hummus plate, and a huge compilation of meats with stuffed grape leaves. The food was fine. However, the radio was not. I do not understand why businesses play the radio. If you want to play music, use cds. Not a radio with commercials in it. Been coming here for 10 years ..started going for the 1/2 off breakfast (portions to keep you full all day) and now have become regulars 2-3 days a week for dinner...Carey is a Wonderful Waitress who has been there for years and really treats all customers well. She has a ton of regulars including us which reflects on her outstanding service Angie is another top notch Waitress who knows how to really make you feel at home....highly recommend either one of these ladies...recommend the turkey club sandwich with fresh Turkey meat. Excellent food when the regular cook/owner is in. He prepares the chicken and gyro meat perfectly. I now ask who is currently cooking, as we have gotten over cooked chicken. Great gyros, grape leaves, lemon rice soup and all of the other similar foods. Drinks are good and strong. Biggest complaints I have is the generally poor service and dirty dishes. Last time I was there, there was melted cheese on the plate under the food I ordered, only thing was there was no cheese on the dish I ordered. Also had black floaties in water and sodas. This is based on service ONLY. My mother and I tried to eat here for a late lunch yesterday, but after waiting for 15 minutes, no one had greeted us or acknowledged us. I thought maybe we needed to order at the bar because the experience was so awkward. We talked it over and decided to go somewhere else. As we started leaving a lady started slowly walking with a menu and asked if we changed our mind about eating. We just stated we were leaving and went down the street to a different restaurant. I have mixed reviews. The falafal was pretty decent. Not enough lemon juice in the tabbouleh and the dried herbs didn't make it any better, the fries were soggy, limp and just plain gross. Huge portions for the prices, but I probably wont come back here based on the crap service alone. Angela was our server and not only did she seem like someone severely rained on her parade just by the absence of emotion on her face the entire time, but she was kind of rude when dropping off our plates like we were taking time out of her day. I love Mediterranean food, but was disappointed in Rumors. The atmosphere was relaxed like a neighborhood diner and that's about the nicest thing I have to say about it. Service was very slow. However, our waitress seemed to be the only one on the floor, and I could tell she was really doing her best. Our food was just okay. I got a gyro, which was delicious but my friend got the Lamb Shank and it was covered in a sauce that we thought tasted like watered down spaghetti-o's. They messed up the order, charged us twice, and when I asked for them to refund the duplicate charge they treated me with hostility. I ate there on Sunday and when I went to pay, things seemed a bit fishy so I made a note to check my bank account the next day. After checking my bank account the next day, I called to let them know they charged me twice and asked for a refund. The first time I called was around noon. I was told there was no manager there and I should call back later. When I asked when the manager would be in, they would not give me a straight answer. I thought this seemed a bit peculiar for a restaurant, but I didn't know any better so I obliged. Around 6p.m. I called back and was able to talk to a manager. However, she told me she was too busy to help (even though it would have taken five minutes as I had all the necessary information) and told me to call back the next day. Tomorrow I am going to try again, however I imagine I will get the same run-around as I did today I would avoid this restaurant. Toledo is very good at housing awesome eats in random-ass places. Like that Mexican place downtown in the back of a supermarket, or that Chinese-place-that's-not-advertised-as-a-Chinese-place in Rossford. Anyway, a pal says he's going to take me to a place called "Rumors." First off, I think, "Is he taking us to a strip club?" We pull up to a random Applebee's-looking place around the Frankin Park Mall area and I'm already not impressed. But we go in, get a couple beers, and check out the hellaciously huge menu. They definitely have regular bar-and-grill type stuff, but their expertise seems to be Mediterranean. My two pals shared one platter of grilled chicken kabob, and I foolishly got a single gyro. I say foolishly because my one gyro could have easily served three people. Seriously huge portion sizes for fairly regular bar-and-grill prices. Service was great despite it being a busy Saturday night. I will definitely be back, and probably have doggy bags for days. read more

Portions are huge here. Fries are nasty, oily and soft, no crunch no firmness. Hummus fantastic. Got the veggie wrap, be warned it's not on the menu but they put those nasty fries inside it, completely ruining it. I would definitely go back I just won't order fries or veggie wrap. read more

Went there on February 14th, 2012 for lunch, I had the shish kafta, which was excellent. My Wife had the Gyro Platter which was great portion size and was also excellent. However, the service was terrible! Our server was Seneca, and she seemed like she could care less about serving us. She forgot several things and was never around when we need refills. We had to chase her down just so we could pay the bill and get out of there. We might order food for take-out from there, but we will never sit down and eat there again! read more

Stopped in for the 1/2 off breakfast. Well....the original price was $9.50 (which I think is outrageous) so my western omlette was $4.75. Well when it came out the omlette was sitting on a puddle of grease and olive oil. I took 3 napkins to soak up the grease/oil and when I pushed on the omlette, more ozed out! yuck! I tried one bite, but it coated the inside of my mouth with grease. I told my server about it and she said, "yes, I noticed that". Then why was it served? I asked that it be taken off my bill. She did and asked if I would like something else. By this time I had lost my appetite. The toast was good. The portion was huge but not eatable. Sometimes large portions are not always the best asset of a restaurant if you can't eat it. Don't think I will be going back. Rumors is the best restaurant in Toledo as far as my husband & I are concerned. We love everything on the menu from their appetizers, dinner entrees, to our favorite "Long Island Iced Teas". We are hoping they stay in business forever. We go there at least twice a month and would miss it SO MUCH if they weren't around. Even the waitresses are all so sweet and efficient! Asked about the fresh "lake perch" Told by the server it was ordered often and very good. GREAT! I'll take 2 with baked potato and green beans. First we were served a mushy bowl of green beans...no shape just mush...10 minutes later our dinner arrives...2 small potatoes wrapped in once piece of foil half cooked (half uncooked as in crunchy) NO BUTTER and a HUGE side of sour cream with a plate full of iceberg lettuce tomato and ONION and the "lake perch" sitting on top of it now SOGGY! How bizarre! Our server never came to check if we needed anything...I had to ask another server to send our server to check on us....asked her for butter and she gave us soupy margarine..... she then brought the bill and boxes LOL Oh I asked for another baggie of pita for the hommus and she said she would have to charge us for it.
