Celebrity yelper Jeffrey R enjoying the Fattoush, Hummus, & Gyro Meat
Dale L.

So glad we came back after the awful experience last time. The Fattoush l, hummus, and gyro meat platter is amazing. More than enough for two people. Large portions, freshly made and just a little over $20. Well worth it. The service was great today and the interior... well is an interior.

Rumors is a fascinating restaurant. It's in one of the busiest parts of town, and while often packed, it's completely missable driving by. We've been many times in the past, and like many of the other reviews point out, it was the terrible service that kept us from returning. We popped in today, after taking a decade-long break, and were pleasantly surprised by the food. It was delicious, and my zatar bread, served with sour cream and a couple of scrambled eggs, provided me with one of the most interesting breakfasts I've had in recent memory. But yeah... while today was great, historically the service is not good, and more than enough reason not to come back.

Service continues to slip. Waited over 45 minutes for one plate to share. Everyone around us was served and still no food or apology. So sad that one of my favorite places is no longer.

The menu has a lot of variety. It's a relaxing place to eat. I've been here a few times this year and I am always blown away with the huge portions! Enough for a few meals :) Great that omelets are available at lunch too, which was easy for my friend with food restrictions.

I had amazing food and amazing service! I am vegan and they have such a great variety of Mediterranean food. my husband and I enjoyed a plate of the best falafel in town. it was perfectly seasoned and not greasy. we also had greek salad and hummus that was not too garlicky. service was fast and friendly. when we are not vegan, we eat their gyros and those are the yummiest!

Looking all over for a nice place for breakfast and a good morning cocktail, it took us an hour, but we found this place at the corner here with rumors. The crew is awesome I do recommend it. Thank you Amber and staff

Unique and delicious brunch/lunch menu! Stopped in here while passing through on a Saturday around…read more1pm. I thoroughly enjoyed my Greek Burger, which had a date spread and feta, served with zaatar chips. Also shared the fried Roman artichokes app with friends and had a bite of their housemade baklava too.

I don't know what to make of Souk. I was anxious to try it. It gives finer dining vibes but the…read moreservice didn't meet fast casual or slow dining standards. That would imply dining. Last person in our party was served almost 2 hours after we were seated. He boxed most of his food. We all did. People came and went and staff was wrapping up, we were all ready to leave. How is this ok to arrive anticipating a shared experience and leave paying a premium for carry out? We waited an hour for hummus. We were asked if we wanted appetizers served first, yes, which leaves the expectation that items would arrive timely and in order. One in our party asked for a drink on the house due to the unacceptable wait. And clarified "on the house" a second time. I felt like the acknowledgment was conciliatory and a show of good faith. I regret ordering a second drink based on that. When we got our bills, his drink was on the tab. Was there some disconnect? Plus an automatic 20% gratuity due to "large group" of 7 people. 20% is standard to me, but in this case doesn't help the cause of what might be assumed to be an overburdened server. And makes me think they feel it's the customer that's the problem for expecting anything remotely what the brand implies. The server was congenial initially, but avoided us the longer we waited for our food. No water refills, no updates. I don't blame her for not asking if we needed anything because what we needed was our food ....how uncomfortable....whatever was going on in the kitchen might be making her job miserable. 2 hours on a cozy patio enjoying decent food and drinks, yes. Waiting on food, not so much.

This has become my favorite middle eastern deli/store in Toledo. The menu goes beyond the basic…read moreshawarma/hummus/falafel things to include offerings like braised lamb shanks, yogurt kibbe, a huge selection of meat and cheese pies, besides a number of "Americanized" choices. The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.
