Mark showed up on time and was very thorough in walking my property and going over options. The other contractor stood me up two times! Keep in mind, I drive 3 hours to meet people. Once we got the permit in hand, I scheduled the drilling with Chris. He was up front and told me the lead time, which ended up being less then two weeks. On the day of the installation, Mark and Chris showed up exactly when they said' they be there! The were both very down to earth and professional while walking the property and analyzing how to setup their rigs. During the installation, I talked to Chris and Mark and explained to them that I never got to watch a well being drilled. The guys were very accommodating, they stopped work and would explain to me what they were doing, the challenges, etc. Mark even took time to explain when he uses certain supplies and how the other contractors will use cheaper supplies to pad their profits. At the end of the day, the guys knocked this 180' well installation out of the park! It couldn't have went any better and I couldn't have had two nicer guys. If you want down to earth, hard working and honest contractors with integrity, then call B.W. Smith and tell them I set you!

We woke up to a nightmare scenario on Christmas Eve morning - no water coming from my parents'…read morefaucets. My parents live out in the country (in Montgomery County) and thus aren't connected to any city water supply, with a ground water well that goes down ~235 feet. We had a Christmas Eve party planned for later that evening, followed by a big day with family on Christmas. But without any water, we were completely screwed - I thought we were going to have to call an audible and transfer everything over to my sister's house, which would be less than ideal. Moreover, we didn't know how bad the situation was - there was a drought over the summer of 2024, so we worried our well might have run dry. This had already happened to my parents ground water well back in 1984, forcing them to re-drill the well over 100 feet deeper (a major undertaking for anybody who's gone through this). Given that it was Christmas Eve, we didn't know if anybody would be available to help us; but fortunately, my Dad was able to get ahold of C.S. Garber & Sons in Douglassville, who sent a crew out to us immediately. Shawn and Aidan got to my parents' house around 9 AM, quickly diagnosed the problem, and got to work right away. They determined we had plenty of water in our well (i.e. it didn't go dry) but weren't getting any current from the well pump, which had finally stopped working after 48 years. They got their equipment setup and started pulling the old pump out, which got stuck halfway, leading us to wonder if the well had collapsed. Fortunately, with Aidan's strong frame pulling, they eventually got the pump jarred loose - most likely a large rock was in the way. They even had a brand new ¾ horsepower pump in their work truck, which is exactly what my father wanted to replace our old 1/2 horsepower pump with. Got the new pump hooked up, placed back down into the well and working in no time. They were done before noon and we had zero issues thereafter. Shawn and Aidan are real-life superstars that quite literally saved our Christmas! Can't recommend these guys enough if you're having water issues or an emergency at your house or business.

I called the company that installed some well equipment when we bought the house on their "24 hour emergency line," which was not answered. They called me back two hours later and told me they could come in a few days and offered no guidance over the phone even though I told them my basement was actively flooding and asked what to do. Meanwhile I'm triaging with buckets and a de-humidifier to keep up with the flow. I called the first place that popped up on Google, which happened to be HydroWells. I explained the situation, and Elba, one of the owners, told me not to worry and they'd have someone out there at 7PM. She and her husband, Javier, the other owner, came actually at 6:45PM, were so kind and lovely and had the issue fixed within a half hour. They also showed me the issue and gave me a bit of an education, which I appreciated. And they didn't gouge me on the price even with the emergency. I won't ever go back to my previous well company. If you're looking for someone to do maintenance or install any equipment, please choose HydroWells.
