Before they become great they must learn. Depending on the specialty or ultimate goal determines front of the house, back of the house, or if your apart of running the house. Today wanted to try this neat experience to see all the students before they go on to their life in the culinary field. This was truly fun watching as each patron was attended to in this full service restaurant serving high end dishes for a serious fraction of the cost. That being said Chuck really was wonderful with his suggestions and taking care of my table. As there were many drinks to be filled, dishes cleared away, and questions to be answered. Each patron is given a menu and you select your 3 courses that includes ( 3 ) different selections for each course, plus beverages ranging from ( soda, coffee, tea, lemonade and water) for a mere $10.00 pp total We ordered salad, gumbo, pork loin, chicken breast, salmon, mango passion fruit tart, and royal elysees. Each was filled with great flavor and something different to talk about. Ample table seating, in an intimate atmosphere for dinner or lunch. Would def recommend. It is first come first serve unless you have a reservation. Location CSN- Cheyenne Campus- ample parking

This is College of Southern Nevada's Hospitality/Culinary Dept's restaurant. The front of the house staff are students in the school's Restaurant Management class. The food are prepared by Culinary Arts students in one of the Culinary Department's restaurant classes (e.g., Aromatics, French, International), with menu changing daily during the weeks that the instructional restaurant is open. This is a sample menu prepared by students in the Aromatics class from 10-14-2008: Choice of Soups or Salads Butternut Squash Soup with Garam Masala or Wild Rice Soup with Fresh Marjoram, Seasonal Mixed Greens with choice of Maytag Blue Cheese Dressing, Apple-Walnut Vinaigrette, or Asian-Orange Vinaigrette. Choice of Entrées: Grilled Marinated Ahi Tuna served with Fried Wasabi Potato Cakes and Hot and Spicy Eggplant with toasted Sesame Seeds. Linguine tossed in White Clam Sauce with Littleneck Clams and Fresh Oregano. Curried Lamb and Vegetable Stew served over Cous-Cous with Mint Chiffonade. One of 3 Dessert selections prepared by Pastry Students in the program. All meals include Homemade Bread or Rolls prepared by CSN Culinary Arts Students under the direction of Master Pastry Chef/Professor Rudi Eichler and Pastry Chef/Instructor Ms. Jody Lee. Price $7.95 (tax included, tips goes toward CSN Scholarship fund) North Las Vegas is far for most ppl, especially with the freeway and road constructions currently causing havoc on Las Vegas roads, but if you are in the area it is well worth the drive. The dessert that is served alone can cost $7+ in a typical restaurant with its own Pastry Chef. This is literally the best deal in town when the school is in session.

It was a very good restaurant! The workers were very nice but a bit understaffed. We wait a long while for our food to get here but the waiter was very kind and sympathetic. The food was pretty okay! Soild 4 out 5 stars in my book.

Definitely one of the best deals in town for fine dining. You receive a 3 course meal that is far superior to other dining establishments that charge far more. I enjoyed the fresh baked bread and butter initially brought out. Followed by a delicious caffe latte. My first course consisted of a nice potato leek soup. It definitely had great flavor and a nice creamy consistency. My second course was a salmon filet in a tasty sauce with potatoes and mushrooms. The salmon was cooked well and and split like butter when eating. The mushrooms and potatoes were lightly salted a very nice contrast to the salmon that flowed together very well. The star of this show would have to be the desert. The Raspberry Bavarian desert consisted of a delicious cake with a raspberry mousse and rice crispy filling topped with chocolate accents and paired with a raspberry sorbet and fruits. All I can say is AMAZING experience!

Great atmosphere, delicious food, unbelievable price ($8.95) for 3 course meal (soup or salad, choice of 1 of 3 different entrées, choice of 1 of 3 different desserts, and bottomless nonalcoholic drinks)! Staff is great and students are preparing and serving food. Tips not accepted by students but you can still leave "tips" for students scholarship. Great place to have lunch or dinner! WARNING! Check their schedule online because they are not open every day - just during class hours and every week menus are different (but always DELICIOUS) Will be back for sure!

My favorite semi private restaurant to enjoy. I'm always impressed with the quality of food that is served. Yes, it's a culinary school doing the cooking & there might be a dew mistakes sometimes. But you cannot beat the quality of food, price & service here.

So proud of the students who run Russell's. Everything was fantastic. $10 for a 3 course meal is ridiculous, especially when the food is so bomb. If you ever get the chance stop by CSN North Las Vegas campus and see what the Culinary department is cooking up!

Good place to go for cheap fine dining food. You can't beat a full course meal for under $9. Other drinks than water or tea are additional. Food was good except for dessert - I didn't quite like the mousse too watery, soft consistency, I usually like it more firm. But as for appetizer and entree it was well portioned and great tasting. Was going to put 5 but service is a little bit slow and proper procedures for getting orders, details was not followed but hey it's a school. For a great inexpensive lunch or dinner and if your in he area why not. Check ahead for availability since they usually sell out.

Do you need a reservation for only 2 people or can you just go there?

This is a class for students, so they are not always in operation and only have a certain number of available seats in a night so you need to make reservations.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I've been craving this food from the moment I left. This has officially become my new favorite local spot in Las Vegas! Off the Strip with convenient parking Reasonably priced for the incredible quality We paired everything with the Albamar Pinot Noir, which complemented each course beautifully. The latter two are vegetarian and I wanted to go for a vegetarian friendly restaurant just for them. The olive oil tasting was my idea so I also had to choose the restaurant. My LTP and I actually went to a different tapas restaurant about a month ago and we loved it. So I wanted to try one of these again. Our tasting was scheduled to start at 6:00pm and I booked a reservation for 4:00pm through OpenTable. They have a very spacious patio, but due to the excessive heat warning in place at the time, we decided to dine inside. I didn't look at their hours of operation beforehand, so when we walked in, it was empty. Then I noticed that they open at 4:00pm on Saturday's and we were literally the first customers inside. We got a spacious table near the back of the restaurant, where our waiter for the day was Zach. He explained to us that all their food on the menu is based out of Spain, especially the paella, which takes about 40 minutes to cook and is meant to serve about two-four people. We started off with some drinks, where I got the mango margarita, my LTP and my dad respectively got the Atomic Duck and the El Pato Loco Mexican Lager from Able Baker, and my mom and my best friend's mom and stepdad shared a bottle of Chardonnay. While the margarita was on a bit of the sweet side compared to other margaritas I've had, it was still really good and it had a really fruity taste to it. We ordered the following and all six of us shared most of them; short rib pintxo, pork belly pave, patatas bravas, ole mis croquetas, iberico dates, and chicken tinga/braise short rib empanadas. Initially, I ordered just the chicken tinga for myself and my LTP was supposed to get the braise short rib, but my plate had chicken tinga and braise short rib together. That was ok, though, because both the chicken and short rib were absolutely delicious. The short rib pintxo came on a stick, with the rib falling off the stick as I took the first bite out of it. The pork belly pave was cooked perfectly. The patatas brava were spicy, but I would say 'good' spicy. The croquetas were overall one of my favorites; when I sliced it down the middle with my fork, the mashed potato filling spilled out of it. Hands down, Tres was a fantastic restaurant. The portions weren't too big or too small and everything here was so good. Would love to sit on their patio when the weather becomes cooler!
