We went to the Smoking Pig BBQ for the first time right before the World Cup finals were about to begin. We got the brisket which was absolutely delicious. It was moist and cooked perfectly. The sauce was amazing as well. I'm picky about sauce and usually make my own for different types of meat but I can't make anything better than what we got. We also got some spicy sausage. Again, absolutely fantastic. Our third order was the 3 meat meal. We chose brisket (again), pulled pork (maybe a bit too pulled but that's just my personal preference and how I pull it when I smoke it myself and ribs. I think we got every side dish offered and every single one was delicious. We ordered a feast and enjoyed every bit of it. Next time we get a craving for brisket, we know exactly where to go. Pulled up to Smoking Pig on my lunch break and went for the 2 meat combo, which comes with a side and cornbread. I chose brisket and the spare ribs (spare ribs were a $3 upcharge), with a side of potato salad and a peach lemonade. Starting with the spare ribs: I got them with the Carolina Sassy sauce, which gave a nice little kick, but they weren't my favorite. I'd give them a solid 7/10. The potato salad was pretty good, though I would've liked a bit more seasoning to elevate it. Still, it's a solid side at 7.5/10. Now the brisket--I asked for the fatty cut, and they delivered! It was perfectly juicy and flavorful, hitting all the right notes. Definitely the highlight of the meats at 9/10. The peach lemonade was a bit on the sweeter side for my taste (I like mine tangier), but still enjoyable. I'd rate it 8/10. But the real star of the show? That cornbread muffin with cinnamon butter. I wasnt feeling so good so I didnt order a plate for my self but I did try my partners food and i really really liked the baked beans and the meat. Those baked beans were super good and the fries were seasoned well. the mac n cheese was alright wasn't too bad but not as good as the beans. The meat was super tender and flavorful, no complaints there. We also tried the different sauce options and they were all pretty good and go well with the meat if you were to add more sauce. Line was fairly quick for there only being one person taking orders at the time. The woman who took my order was really nice. I ordered the 3 meat combo. Being that I don't eat pork, I asked if I could do one beef rib instead of the two spare rib option, she said yes but it would be an additional $10. I wanted to try it and beef ribs are usually pretty big so I said okay. I also chose the brisket (chopped), and the chicken. Even with the three meat plate, you only get once side. So I ordered the mac and cheese and added the collard greens. That plus tip was about $46.50. I don't think you get a lot of food for the price. The beef rib was a looooot of fat, tasted good, but majority was fat. The chopped brisket was good, but again, didn't seem like a big enough portion for the price. Chicken was decent. They also only have one sauce for everything, which I thought was very little. Macaroni and cheese and collard greens were edible but nothing to rave about. They weren't bad, they just weren't extraordinarily good either. Greens would probably taste better if I had added some hot sauce to help. If I were to come back, I'd probably try different sides. I'll probably give this place another try soon with a different order, to see if my opinion changes. But for right now, I'd say it's a little over priced for lackluster food. read more

The only thing that stands out about this place is the service. The last time we came here was over two years ago, because my daughter wanted to go there for her birthday. My daughter's mother ordered the quarter chicken and coleslaw. She thought the coleslaw was okay, and the chicken was disgusting. My daughter ordered the pulled pork and fries. She didn't like the pulled pork and the fries were average. I ordered the brisket and felt it was pretty good. This is why I gave food two stars instead of one. They also got rid of the salads, which could have saved the situation, but the owner was trying to be penny-wise and dollar-foolish. I really liked them , not the best I've had , but really good . The sweet tea for me was just right . The inside is nicely decorated with lots of wood like a Southern Bbq place and a cool jukebox playing some good music . The table was very sticky though and I have read many reviews saying the same thing . The 4 sauces I tried them all . I liked the Sassy Carolina sauce the best with the pulled pork sandwich , the Kansas City Hot was pretty good too . I didn't care for the Carolina Honey and the Original Bbq was just okay . I would use the Original for probably the Ribs and Brisket . They have a huge menu with lots of pies and of course banana pudding . I was too full for dessert . We decided to share a three platter meat of fatty brisket, pulled pork, and burnt ends with a side of French fries and greens. It also came with a cornbread muffin. The fatty brisket was the best meat, then the pulled pork and lastly the burnt ends. The burnt ends were a bit tough but good flavor. Loved the French fries (I think they are seasoned with salt and pepper) I think the greens contain mustard greens because they had a tart taste but still good. We decided to give Smoking Pig a try because we've heard it being advertised on a radio station we usually listen to- and the reviews are amazing. We were a bit worried about it being a weekend, and hoping we'd get a table thinking it would be packed and busy! However, that was not the case when we walked in, and I am a bit disappointed that it didn't impress me much. I also want to think that they were having an off day, but I'm not sure if I'd be back. The decor is very old fashioned, small town bbq restaurant decor. There are so many frames and decorations to look at while you're visiting. We walked into Smoking Pig and were greeted fairly quick. We were told our server would be with us soon and noticed a couple of things right away that were a bit alarming for our likening. There were only 2 diners in the entire restaurant, it was deeaadd. Also, our table was extremely sticky. Our phones, cutlery, and all the condiments were STUCK to the table. One of their bbq sauces had a long hair stuck to it, so not sure how often those are cleaned. When my husband told our sever he wanted a clean bottle and advised her of the hair, she sort of just said, "oh", and gave us a different one from another table. We also noticed our server knew a customer, walked up to him and started to give him a tapping shoulder massage. This wouldn't have been a huge deal if the customer didn't have long hair in a ponytail, past his shoulders, and she had no gloves on while doing her buddy a favor.... I know this might not be an alarming action for some people, but with all my food handling experience, this is a HUGE NO NO. You do not do this to avoid contamination! I prayed she washed her hands before coming to our table. When she came to the table she asked if we were ready, and we said no and then she asked if we wanted to start with drinks, so we gave her our drink choices. Our teen finally chose the fingers and cajun fries, I decided to try the pulled pork nacho fries with cajun fries, and my husband ordered the two-meat combo. Lean brisket burnt ends and his mac and cheese side. It came with cornbread, so the price is not bad for what you get. On my end: I was turned off immediately by the food I chose. However, the nacho cheese according to our server is homemade and it is very different from what I consider nacho cheese. My pulled pork was not tasty, but it was smoky, so I'll give it that. My daughter's chicken was good, I loved the fresh taste: but her fries didn't taste cajun at all. My husband loved his food. He ate the entire meal! He also loved their sauces, which were a great addition to the entire experience because you can choose what you like. Maybe bbq is the way to go here and not what we chose. It's is a long drive across town from home but on this visit we were in the area and decided to give it a try. The décor on the outside and inside is what you would expect in a rural/country location. We arrived around 1 PM and only a few people were eating. We were seated in a comfortable booth, regular tables were also available. The first thing I noticed was that the table top had a sticky finish like it was not properly cleaned. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the 3 meat combo meal and selected Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket and Spare Ribs and Cole Slaw. Corn Bread is included along with 1 side. There is an additional $3.00 charge for the Ribs. I was asked if I wanted lean or fatty brisket and I choose lean. There is a selection of sauces on the table. I used the classic BBQ sauce. All 3 meats were tender and juicy. The ribs had a nice smoke ring. As ordered the beef was lean. The amount of food was plenty with enough left over for take home. The order consisted of 4 ribs, 4 pieces of brisket and a pile of pulled pork. The corn bread was fresh and worked well with a slater of butter. The cole slaw was traditional vinegar based. My wife ordered the onion rings. It was a large portion and was perfectly cooked, crispy outside a soft inside. I would return when in the area. It's a great BBQ joint in Vegas. I've had the burnt ends a couple times and they're a little tough... But tasty. Not as tender as I normally like but good enough.
