Midcity Plumbing has done big jobs for us and small. After some flooding about 15 years ago, they did a major job of repairing the sewer line to the street. More recently, we called them when our water tank suddenly went out and was leaking rusty water across the basement. Not only did they answer the phone after hours at seven at night, but they arranged to come the next day. In less than 24 hours, we have a new water tank. Tech showed up early, wore boot covers, and got right to work. Cleared the issue quickly by accessing the line under the sink and confirmed everything was flowing properly again. My fiancé used Midcity Plumbing at his condo and was happy with their work so we gave Midcity a call when we needed the plumbing in our new townhouse inspected. To make a long story short, our home inspection didn't find issues with our new home's plumbing but a shower door repair company was so concerned about what their employee was seeing they insisted we have our bathroom inspected before they'd sell us a new door. I needed a new gray water sump pump. They knew I needed it quick as I was leaving town. The pump was $500. They charge me another $500 labor for about one hour worth of work. The Customer service answering the phone crabby. Condescending and disrespectful. Techs didn't even change my check valve, or original pvc piping, I had to give them materials I had. Overall sure they did an OK job but I wouldn't recommend them. read more

"YOU THINK DISPATCH TELLS US WHAT TO DO?!" I was screamed at by one of their plumbers. 90 days prior, without consent, they came in and destroyed my bathroom. They did not repair it until 2 seasons later. Was told that they would be there at 8AM. My roomate and I would only need 20mins each to use the bathroom and then go to work. They showed up at 7 when we woke up and demanded they start to work. I said we just woke up. They refused to wait in the hall and complained that "You're stopping us from doing our job" They only had permission to look. They had no permission to destroy my wall. This was in summer, they did not complete the job until winter. Thats 90 days/3months. No rush after they wrecked my place, but 1 hour they show up early. See attached photos. read more

I just purchased a new condo and after about a month, I noticed a sewer smell in my bathroom and started seeing water seeping in from behind the toilet. The HOA recommended these guys and I will be forever grateful. Turned out the seal was leaking under the toilet and MidCity said it looked like it's been leaking for a very long time. I was grossed out, thinking I would have to clean all of that up, but the workers did it all. They brought a new seal that fit my toilet base, had their own garbage bags, paper towels, and caulking. I didn't have to supply anything but the bleach. They cleaned it all up, recaulked the toilet, and even fixed the water pressure in my kitchen. They were awesome! Very professional, and very quick. I was referred to Midcity by a co-worker and had them to installed my first-floor apartment faucets and replace the old plumbing in two bathrooms in my 1950s two flat building, I should've let them complete the 2nd floor as well but already had a contractor working in that area on another project. My neighbor then referred me to the competitor to come and finish any other plumbing that needed to be done since Midcity was overly backed up with other orders. Had a frozen pipe that defrosted and flooded inside the house. My neighbor highly recommended Midcity Plumbing. The key words in her recommendation were: reliable, do good work, reasonable charges. Called them in the morning and they came that afternoon. (This was the weekend following the big freeze in January 2019, and all plumbers were very busy fixing broken pipes) They were highly efficient, thorough, and very reasonable. Had Midcity plumbing, my regular plumbers who I have used in the past out to camera my sewer line. I did this because since midcity was busy fixing frozen pipes, I had to call another company ,ABC plumbing to unclog roots. ABC scared me saying My pipe was going to break and cost thousands of dollars to fix. They did unclog. I had Midcity come check it out. It was not serious like ABC said. All I need to do is have regular maintenance to clear out roots maybe years from now pipe will need fixing. They've converted a single floor drain in basement to overhead sewer system, roughed in and finish trimmed a basement bathroom and today power cleaned our main floor bathroom due to over clogging of debris. Quoted me $4k to install a cleanout for clogged pipes. They said a cleanout was needed because they couldn't get a large enough cutter through the opening in the basement. Then, a second opinion told me they can clear the pipe through a much larger opening in the catch basin ($1k estimate). They also said literally any plumber should've known we had a catch basin, so Mid City tried jamming us up with an unnecessary $4k charge. It's been months since I had the other plumber do the cleanout through the catch basin and I've had no problems. Get multiple quotes and don't get screwed by these guys and DO NOT let them install a cleanout when it's not necessary. read more

I had them come by to remove a garbage disposal that stopped working. Showed up and replanned connection better than it ever was. Quoted me a price on installing a new toilet and showed up the following week and did that. It's all better than new. These guys are the best. He replaced two shower cartridges, repaired a toilet flushing problem to good service, cleaned out two bathroom drains, and fixed a leak under the kitchen sink. He clearly described what each part did and how he was going to replace and/or remove parts as necessary. He did nothing without my approval and then tested every part replaced.
