The best restaurant near Bryce canyon national park. We were in that area for 2 days and we came here for lunch and dinner the first day and lunch on the second. The options are limited. The breakfast end time is pretty strict. We reached just when the breakfast was ending and we were told that the kitchen was already done with breakfast and was prepping for lunch only. The salads are awesome. The fish and pastas are delicious - never expected such quality from a remote place like this. The sandwiches were decent. The place is huge and our clue should have been that only 2 tables were filled at 5:15. I ordered ribs and my spouse the quarter chicken. The ribs were literally 90% fat and 10% meat. Not even edible. I showed the server and she said "oh". The chicken was so dry, my spouse ate a few bites and gave up. The micro-brewed beers were listed as "Light, Wheat and Dark". I asked the server if she knew what kind of beer they were "...like IPA, Stout, Ale, etc." and she said "no, just Light or dark". The bread was good and the salad fair. If this cost them more than $1.50 in materials I will apologize profusely. Service was so-so. Waitress was late getting to the table, sidn't ask if we wanted something to drink until after she took the food order. She was sour-pussed until she bought the check and was all smiles for a bigger tip. The only good thing was the beer was ice cold. Never going back. Go elsewhere. Just to respond to Emilee... you miss my point. My chicken was buried in the green chili and cheese. I had 4oz of chicken and 4oz of chili and 2oz of cheese. We are tourists. We only get one shot at places like yours. You need to work to make it a worthwhile experience for us, not gouge us with high prices and bad food. Horrible! Restaurant as much of a scam as the town of Tropic. We got a cabin there advertised as Bryce Canyon, yet it was 15 mins away from the park entrance. Ordered Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon. It was watered mush with neither ingredient . My daughter order an omelette she had to return missing ingredients. read more

My family and I were on our way to Bryce Canyon but wanted to have some breakfast first so we found this place on yelp and I wish it wasn't on here at all. The food is alright nothing special about it, there was also some stuff that they didn't had on the menu, coffee was really good I would say that. I'm giving it a one star because of the service we received! when we got there it took someone about 10 min for someone to come out of the kitchen and sit us down after the server who was helping us seem like it was her first day as a server or she was probably just not on the mood to work because she was so awkward and did even try to acknowledge us nor was nice at all, she definitely made me feel so uncomfortable. The wait was not too bad but when it was time to order, we were told that they were out of trout and chicken. Food took a really long time. Husband ordered ribs and daughter got Alfredo pasta and theirs were ok. My son ordered the $23 NY steak which was so bland and dry he didn't finish it. I ordered the $20 pork shank "special" since they were out of trout and it appeared to be fried with a hard dry shell. I had to ask for a side of bbq sauce to make it slightly palatable. I'm not picky about food at all but my son and I agreed this was the worst meal we've had in a long time, maybe ever. Our waitress wore her mask improperly under her nose and looked miserable. Just finished eating there an hour ago. I got the ribeye and mid-way through the meal already feel sick. It tasted okay, but I likely got food poisoning from this establishment. I don't recommend getting anything medium-rare here. The mixed vegetables tasted like they came right out of a can, but the mashed potatoes were alright. The whole establishment is weird, and feels as though it were slapped together from cheap decor purchased from a dollar store. We stopped here after hiking in the morning. Most of the other restaurants were closed on Monday. We were greeted and seated quickly. The hostess was pleasant. However, that is were pleasant ended. Although the food came out quickly, both waitresses seemed grumpy. Nothing overtly rude, just not pleasant. No smiles. No conversation. Just drop off the plates and walking away. Nothing said. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was very dry. The sea salt fries were very good however. My wife had the burrito. Her pork was also very dry. This is not a place I would warn you to stay away from. Just don't expect happy or moist food. Went to this spot which was right around the corner from my AirBnB for dinner one night. So one thing Utah is known for is rainbow trout. Unfortunately did not hear or know about it until the last leg of my trip. Hence, Bryce Canyon area (Tropic, UT). So decided to come into this place which is half convenient store and the other half restaurant. So I decided to order the rainbow trout dinner - it came with mashed potatoes with gravy and mixed veggies. The trout was amazing. Seasoned and cooked perfectly! However the rest of my plate looked like microwave TV dinners unfortunately. I will give the trout (5 stars) but everything else was ehhh. We stayed in the lovely town and decided to treat ourselves. Husband had a burger and I had trout. The burger was served with 3 onion rings and salad. It was very dry and had no taste. I had trout with fresh veggies and rice. I would have appreciated if the trout was served when it was cooked. It appeared as if It was waiting for a while before it was served. The veggies were great and I only wished the trout was warm. The complimentary bread was warm and tasty. I had house red wine. I wished it was either chilled or room temperature. It was served warm. We were visiting Bryce Canyon, and this place had the shortest wait within a 10 mile radius. I had the bbq chicken and rib combo with fresh veggies and a baked potato. First the good: plenty of food, the fresh veggies were not over cooked and were good, and the baked potato was just fine. The not so good: in my opinion, when it comes to food, you have the good, the bad and the bland. My ribs and chicken were some of the most bland meat I have ever tasted. The bbq sauce had no distinct, or unique, or had ANY flavor. The service hear was not very good. They may have been understaffed, but we had very long waits between visits to our table. I was disappointed this location was not still the Mormon restaurant I remember from my Bryce vacation years before. It used to have great Mormon potato casserole dish and other yummy food. Along with black and white photos on the walls of the pioneers. Now it's a western theme restaurant and the ribs looked good except we were there before 5 pm and had to order lunch. My patty melt had a bad taste to the meat. Very Good season fries and their ranch dressing was very yummy . Dans bacon hamburger was good he said. The green dinner salad was fresh and good. "Reserve the right for 18% gratuity, because of our fresh produce and ingredients." I had half BBQ chicken breast with side of seasoned French fries, and complementary canned beans. The chicken breast was very very dry, and as such hard to swallow without lots of water. The extremities were tender and easily pulled off. The skin was not crispy or layered in sauce. But the BBQ sauce was nothing special, for a homemade sauce one could really mistake it for the mass production brand. Although whether this is a detraction is up to your preference. Beans were the tasteless and slightly more tender than an over boiled carrot. Fries were good: Crunchy and chewy, salty and spiced, served warm. No complains here. Portion wise it was filling. The service was okay, and the decorum matches the touristy circumstance of Bryce. This is your typical touristy Ritzy food, trying too hard to be homey, instead of actually being homey southern comfort food. You are better off buying dinner from the grocery store next door. read more

We waited an hour and a half for our food. When we got our food it was cold. The food was dry and had no flavor. It was VERY overpriced. People were seated at all tables; social distancing was not observed. They may have been short staffed, but they are one of two restaurants in town and they need to step up their service and quality of food. I'd recommend going anywhere else. This is one of a few places to eat in Tropic, Utah. The service is slightly slow. The food we had was good. I had a half-rack of ribs and enjoyed it. The size was ample. The sauce was on the sweeter side. My wife had trout which was both fillets. She enjoyed it. My son, asked for a Mac and cheese which was not on the menu, and they made one. However, it did not taste good and this was confirmed by my wife. So he shared her meal since it was so large. The dessert, I would say was odd. I ordered a berry pie, with ice cream. The ice cream, I have no idea what it was. You would think the standard vanilla. But, it was unidentifiable. Why? It was nearly all melted by the time the plate came out. It was a plop of something with chocolate chips and some other brownish stuff. I thought maybe it was cookie dough, but I have no idea. The soupy ice cream kind of ruined the dessert. We ate at this restaurant several times during our trip to Bryce Canyon National Park. The ribeye steak, hamburgers, taco salad, and strawberry/cheese stuffed french toast were excellent. For dinner they also serve a warm, freshly-baked loaf of bread, which was delicious. The fish and chips was just OK, but everything else we ordered was outstanding and with big portions.
