Because of that history, I never expected to be treated this way. We experienced a genuine family emergency that forced us to leave early and requested a refund for our unused Sunday and Monday nights. These were weekday nights not a weekend or holiday, and the hotel kept 100% of the charges for both nights despite us not being there. What made the situation even worse was the amount of time we had to spend going back and forth during an already stressful family emergency. The front desk staff repeatedly told us they understood and agreed a refund was appropriate, but the owner instructed them not to issue one. For several days, staff members seemed confused about the situation, while the owner/manager refused to respond to phone calls or text messages. We were left waiting, following up repeatedly, and receiving no direct communication from the person making the decision. I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but there should also be room for compassion and reasonable discretion, especially for LOYAL, repeat guests who have spent thousands of dollars over the years and have personally referred many others to stay here. Unfortunately, this experience erased years of goodwill. Customer service is tested when something unexpected happens, and this hotel failed that test. We will NEVER stay here again, and after this experience, I can no longer recommend it to friends, family, or clients. What a HUGE disappointment Cottage Grove. Not the way you treat your loyal customers.

We got champagne at check in along with fantastic cookies. The room was well appointed with a fireplace and private hot tub in room. The shower too was spacious, clean, and powerful. Overall the place checked all the boxes and then some. The breakfast was over and above our expectations. Fresh fruit and a delicious homemade muffin to start. Cold juices and hot coffee. Yogurt and granola. All before the menu comes out with a custom made hot breakfast. My wife got avocado toast and I got an omelette. Both came with house made potatoes and mine had an option for a variety of toasts to choose from. All delicious and a great way to start the day. Really grateful to have found this place and already thinking about when we could go back. Also, perhaps most important, it's walkable to just about everything downtown, including the oxbow market and all the restaurants and shops in between, of which there are many.

We were walked back to our room and grab some freshly baked cookies on the way. The room was so cute and perfect for a romantic getaway. It had a heart shaped soaking tub, a large shower, a comfortable bed and a fireplace that was very powerful. They cook your breakfast fresh every morning and you have a choice between their regular menu items or the special of the day. They also have a yogurt and juice bar. They bring out coffee by the carafe. I ordered the avocado toast each morning because I loved it so much. He ordered the specials each morning and no matter what we ordered, it was delicious. They have free parking in the back and it's easy driving distance to downtown Napa and the Valley wineries. I definitely recommend The Inn on First.

We stayed here because we wanted to be stumbling distance away from the French Laundry (a 1 minute walk away in heels lol) and it was perfect. When we checked into the inn, I mentioned to Wesley that I was disappointed that we missed the wine and cheese hour, he quickly assembled a lovely plate for us and poured us 2 glasses of red wine. So nice! He also offered to take pics of my husband and I around the property and gave us a quick synopsis of everything we could do that was within walking distance. In the mornings, Susan took very good care of us. Always smiling as she greeted us and laid out the lavish buffet breakfast. Juices, water, teas, and coffee included. Other notes: *You could sign out complimentary bicycles *No Tesla charger on the premises, but close by *Ample parking around the inn *Nice welcome card and warm cookies on your bed upon arrival I would absolutely stay here again...last time we stayed at Bardessono (a completely different experience and even more spectacular, but 3 times the cost of Lavender).

From the get go, the manager and workers were all so friendly and helpful. There were initially some issues with dynamic pricing, but they were able to correct things on the back end, which was much appreciated. The main building and breakfast area are both very warm and inviting. The couches and seats are comfortable. There are games and books in the cabinet areas too. The chef provides a tasty breakfast each day, with the menu slightly changing. There is coffee, tea, and hot/cool water available all day. It can get a little crowded at breakfast, so if you are in a large group, go either very early or very late. The afternoon happy hour is pretty relaxed with some offerings of cheese, crackers, and wine. Be sure to ask for gluten-free options, as they have them available. They also prepared nice chocolates for my parents (anniversary) and a cookie for my nephew (birthday), which was a lovely touch. The rooms are fine, some are a little darker and/more dated, but that didn't bother us. The one thing that I would've done differently, is to bring an eye mask and ear plugs. Depending on where your room is located, you could be facing the main street. The doors in certain buildings would slam pretty loudly, so if you had neighbors returning late at night, you would definitely hear them. I am a little fussy with beds, and I found the Vitners King (seemed more like a Cali King?) bed to be a little firm and transferred movement easily. We would consider splurging for the updated rooms next time. Bonus that they have cruiser bikes to borrow. It was very nice to go for a quick ride one of the mornings. The location is fantastic, it's within walking distance to downtown. There are so many great restaurants to visit. In addition, wineries and parks are also a close drive away. Overall a great place to stay and we really enjoyed our visit, thank you!

We especially loved the jetted tub, it was so relaxing and exactly what we needed. The scenery around the property was beautiful and peaceful, creating the perfect atmosphere for a birthday getaway. My only complaint is the dust behind the bed, on the back bed curtain & on the bottom bed lays under the top mattress. Additionally the mattress needs to be replaced asap. There are fruits and vegetables and flowers and just about everything you can imagine in just a beautiful setting. And she is just so proud of what she has and loves nothing more than sharing it with her guests, we know that firsthand. The room itself that we have which is in the cottage House is quaint and simple but really quite comfortable. everything is clean and they are just so attentive for anything you could possibly need or want. As we are not staying in the main house we get a continental style breakfast in the morning and again Mimi goes out of the way to provide freshly baked breads and muffins and fruit that she's picked from her trees and tomatoes that she's picked from her gardens And homemade jams again from the fruits of her garden and does everything possible to make you enjoy yourselves. And this year we have also been fortunate enough for her to provide us with these incredible homemade organic exquisite unusual iced teas again from various ingredients on her property. They are delicious and unlike anything we've ever had. And once again not to be repetitive or redundant, but this is not something that she has to do for us this is something that she wants to do just to share because that's what kind of person she is. Beautiful place beautiful setting beautiful location. no it's not a five-star resort but for what you are getting in this incredible setting it's hard to imagine that every single person that stays here doesn't enjoy it like we do.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcome by Mimi n Ed the owner of the Inn. We were invited to take a tour of the organic farm - rows of vibrant green vegetables, bursts of colorful flowers swaying gently in the breeze, and fruit trees heavy with ripening fruit. The air was fresh and fragrant, carrying hints of herbs and blossoms, and the peaceful surroundings made us feel as though we had been transported to the French countryside. We especially loved the elegant French country-style interior design. Our room was spacious and inviting. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. Each bite was a celebration of freshness--crisp vegetables, juicy fruits, and rich, earthy flavors that reflected the care of the farm. Everything was fresh, healthy, and organic, with many of the ingredients harvested just steps away. You could truly taste the difference--the sweetness of sun-ripened fruit, the brightness of just-picked greens, and the pure, clean flavors of food grown with intention. A special thank you to Mimi, who thoughtfully prepared a delicious caffeine-free herbal tea just for me. The aroma alone was soothing--soft floral notes of honey rose petals blended with the bright, citrusy scent of organic lemon verbena, all grown and handcrafted on the farm. Each sip was warm, calming, and deeply comforting, making it such a memorable and personal touch. We are already looking forward to returning. If you're looking for a relaxing weekend getaway where you can enjoy healthy organic food and experience the charm of the South of France without leaving Napa, this is the perfect place. We will definitely be back! You can also order a box of organic farm products to take home and share with loved ones, so you can continue enjoying a taste of the farm long after your visit.
