I stopped in Astoria for the day and stumbled upon The Rusty Cup. I get my usual (Vanilla Chai) and thought this can't beat my home town Chai. I was wrong. Steady traffic but it's never crowded and there is seating for one, two, up to four people. It was a great place to sit down and relax for a while, there's just as much cool stuff in the shop as there is out the window. read more

I haven't been to Astoria since last summer, but I had to come back to The Rusty Cup. The mocha was exactly as delicious as I remembered. I got a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich that was also very good. Big points for a friendly staff. The only slight downside is the place isn't very big, but that also kind of adds to the charm. I wish this coffee shop was closer to my home. read more

The Rusty Cup is a must-stop for my girlfriends and me when we are in the Astoria area. The atmosphere is cute and very laid back, with lots of personality. The staff is cheerful and always puts up with our shenanigans! The seating area is small but very fun - full of local reads and guest books (which we sign every time! Tradition!), and a chess set! Coffee prices are better at the Rusty Cup than at some other Astoria shops, and the coffee is pretty darn good. We've ordered all kinds of food (bagels!) and drinks here over the years and their product has always been satisfactory. I go here for the atmosphere, however, not for the coffee quality. The Rusty Cup has been part of our lives for years, and we love it. read more

My wife and I, along with another couple, decided to hit Astoria for a short weekend get away. When we arrived, we wanted some coffee and saw this place. The place itself is very small. And if there is a line, you might be waiting outside. But obviously it's worth it if people are waiting in line for it. The cost was the first thing we noticed. It is very reasonably priced for coffee. Especially for additional shots. The price almost made us think, "Can this coffee be any good at those prices?" We are obviously brainwashed because the coffee was amazing. So much so that we came back the next morning because we just HAD to have more. We actually have joked about it when we have gone on vacation elsewhere and had coffee. "Ugh, this is nice coffee. But I wish it was 'Rusty Cup' nice." The people behind the counter obviously know the people that live and work in this area and were addressing them by name. If a place has a good group of regulars, they must be doing something right! read more

Came here because a tip indicated a great chai tea. You were so right. Chai tea was amazing! The batista lady was so friendly to us and everyone that walked in behind us. Not a huge place, but there is three tables and a counter top. Seats about a dozen or more if you want to stand. Will be back. read more

Got a chicken and avacado sandwich, and a hot chocolate. The sandwich was swimming...SWIMMING in sauce when I got it, let's call it more of a soup then a sandwich. I reluctantly finished the whole thing, finding only small remnants of chicken chunks floating around in the battle between mayonnaise and some other "sauce". Truly a disappointment. Feels like kind of establishment where only the employees friend's get top service. For instance one of the waitresses/cooks friend stopped in after I ordered and she made him a meal "on the house" in front of me. read more

I will be going here every time I visit Astoria. Or whenever I'm passing close enough to justify stopping in. They have the most delicious beverages and really, really friendly staff. A delightful place! I highly recommend the Pumpkin Pie Chai. It's FULL of flavor, but not too sweet. Also, I'm never a fan of coffee, but my friend ordered a dirty chai, and the barista recommended using white coffee for a more balanced taste. It was delightful! read more

Ridiculously tasty, fun and epic place! Stumbled on it when the cafe down the street was overrun by hipsters waiting in a San Francisco class line. This place was fantastic. My partner and I went here twice on our vacation to Astoria, and each time the staff was incredibly friendly. I got a dirty chai, which most of the time is either too sweet or not sweet enough, but theirs was perfect. I'll go here every time I'm in Astoria. read more

Only been in once but it seems to be very popular. The ladys working there are very friendly!! My boyfriend goes in quite a bit and usually gets the Flying Barney. Its so delicious! It is pretty small so when it gets busy, there's not much room. But they're relatively quick. Definitely going back when I get the chance! read more

Located right next to the historical Liberty Theater, for years during my youth and young adulthood, this space was home to Columbia Chocolates. They made the best caramel corn! Now it's a fabulous coffee spot. Small and cozy with some great brews and friendly service. I fell in love with coffee after I moved to Portland in 1989 and when I go home to visit Astoria these days I know I can get my fix at the Rusty Cup. Go forth and enjoy! read more

I stopped in for lunch and ordered a Moroccan Chicken Panini Sandwich. The service was good and I got my food in about 10 minutes. The food was also good although a side of something would have been nice. It only cost $4.50 for I can't complain. The atmosphere was nostalgic and cozy. This place is mainly a coffee house, but they do serve sandwiches too. This could be a place I would visit again. read more

I realized the other day that I've been coming to Rusty cup for 10 years. When I first came in, it reminded me of the show "Cheers" and I thought how everyone likes going to a place that knows your name, and your drink, and your kid's names, what kind of dog you have....you get the picture. Krist is very careful to keep her prices reasonable and goes out of her way to deliver. I've kept coming because the coffee and sandwiches are delicious, but also because Kristy and her gang really care about her customers and it is a joy to watch her serve the community!
