I remember this bar from 20 years ago. Back then it was just a friendly dive bar - no food, no frills etc. I'm back visiting and someone mentioned this place so I had to see it again. What a makeover! Great job! Started with an ice cold draft PBR. No complaints there! Next make sure you order the wings. We got them "crunchy" as the waitress suggested and yes cooked perfectly. I would have like a better quality blue cheese but that's just a suggestion for management. Also ordered the chicken bruschetta quesadilla. It came out fine but got soggy from the salsa and unappealing to me after eating a piece. My girlfriend got a burger. She loved it and looked fresh and juicy and generous size. Service terrific and friendly. Sorry didn't get her name but originally from Ireland, I believe. Great job! My suggestion is to just stick to the burgers and wings and I don't think you can go wrong. Party of two for a late lunch on a Sunday. Parking lot was full and we were ready to turn back around but we checked with the hostess and we were seated at a high-top in the bar area immediately. Games playing on all the TVs. We got the French onion soup, buffalo chicken quesadillas and buffalo parm chicken wings. The french onion soup was amazing. Hubs got the quesadillas which he devoured and said were very good. The wings were good but I didn't ask for them extra crispy and regretted it. The service was excellent. The rest room was clean but an accident waiting to happen ( right next to the kitchen door). read more

Place is junk and the service wasn't very good. The bday wing offer is a total scam. We had AWFUL service and had to ask for our check 5 times. The servers aren't motivated to do a good job - because the 18% tip is already included if someone at the table does the birthday special. We had a few beers, and the Birthday boy had 30 wings. The other two guys got an appetizer and a burger. (Total not each). Our bill was $85 dollars and the service sucked. The beer selection is piss poor as well. 15 taps and all in-bev: bud, coors, ick. Rusty Nail still deserves praise for its birthday promotion. After all these years they are still offering free wings in an amount equal to your age. Other than that, however, they are starting to slide down the steady slope of mediocrity. The service here has remained consistent, but two things decreasing RN's score are its food quality and value. In the past year I've not once been able to eat a sandwich where the meat hasn't been dry. This is often the case when you take frozen product and reheat it, or it occurs when you simply cook the meat for too long. The only thing offsetting this disappointing attribute is the fact the establishment has changed the menu around to include popular favorites like the piggy tots as permanent items. Regarding this restaurant's value, Rusty Nail has reached a point where they are charging too much for pub food. The last time I came here I ordered poutine which came with a tiny amount of gravy. I asked for more and was charged $.50. Now, you don't have to be Canadian to know when poutine has too little gravy, and RN's rendition is exactly that. Their chicken wings are also now $11 for ten pieces. That premium would be warranted if they cooked fresh chicken wings in a smoker for two hours and covered them in homemade sauces, but these are their usual frozen wings deep fried for six minutes and tossed into one of several pre-made sauces. The value simply isn't there any more. read more

I went into this restaurant after reading all the rave reviews online. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. The service was good and it has a good family friendly bar/tavern atmosphere. I've eaten here a couple of times since moving to the area. A close friend of mine recommended the wings and said how "amazing" they are. I, personally, was less than impressed. The wings were fried way too long. I want to taste the actual chicken, not over fired meat. I will eat here again and order something different on account of the service and otherwise decent food. read more

This is a really good choice for casual dining. The food is consistent, the menu has a nice variety of pub style food (chicken quesadillas, wings and chicken wings and salads are among the favorites as well as burgers). The waitresses are friendly and efficient! If your looking for a place to take your family, have a quick business lunch, or simply get together with friends this is a good choice. Prices are moderate. On the negative side, it can get a little loud, but it is a pub after all. And ladies, this is a good choice for a "girl friends gathering". I go every year for my birthday lunch! Went yesterday and was greeted by a waitress that loved her job. So delightful! Explained that you get 1 wing for every year. Big time wings for my family. These wings were a good size wing to! I wanna give a shout out to their cajun spiced wings. They were so good. Ordered the loaded nachos and they were good too!! Not a bad deal. Wings were great, so was the macaroni salad and tater tots. Restaurant was very clean as well. Would give those things 5 stars. That's it. Everything else about the experience was awful. Service was terrible. The girl who took our order didn't check on us not even once the whole time we were there! She was standing around near the host stand the whole time so we had to flag down the manager just to get some waters. We had 2 random girls come over to check on us through our meal and the second one only came over to give us our check and get us out of there! Maybe we wanted dessert or another drink but she didn't even ask. Hostess was the only one who even deserved a tip out of the entire meal she was great. Special chicken BLT quesadilla was awful, not nearly enough cheese and chicken was just dry and crusty, didn't eat it. Fries on the other meal were cold and grilled chicken was dry as a bone and flavorless. Beer was not cold and tasted off, maybe skunked. I go for Birthdays and Non free wings for every year plus a free beer! The wings are crispy and meaty. Buffalo Garlic Parm is our go to. Hot is good tried the Insane thinking it would be normal extra hot it lives up to its name you can only do a couple. The waitress said they use Satans Blood which is a pepper extract mixed with hot. If you like to test your spice level like I do it's worth it! Also just tried the French Dip it's was great with the Au jus. Piggy Tots are also good. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! Amy the assistant manager has absolutely no manners. We waited for 40 min in the parking lot right by the side of the building where the smell of rotted garbage was very intense even in October. They called after 40 min so I went in, two of my friends stayed behind to finish their phone conversation. I sat down and Amy the so called assistant manager came over after 2 maybe 3 min to inform me that if the rest of is is not at the table within 5 min, she will have to seat other ppl and ask me out. After a hard day, with the intention of just having a meal and enjoy the evening, this encounter was very disappointing and disrespectful. They DO NOT CARE about the customer AT ALL.! Had lunch here during the week. It was PACKED on a Thursday mid day. We ordered the Thai wings which were good with a little kick to them. Lots of options for wings and apparently there's a wing special if you have a birthday. Lunch was just ok. The meat in the ground beef tacos was really dry. Worst service I've ever had. We reserved seats 15 minutes before we got there, online it said we would have a table ready. when we arrived they had given our table to another party and said we had 2 tables ahead of us. An hour and a half later with us reminding them we were there, instead of an apology we were told to "be patient" while they seated people who had just walked in ahead of us. Arrived with a small party of about 8 people on a Sunday night. Place was packed wall to wall and we were told it would be about an hour long wait. We had some drinks at the bar and we were actually seated in about 45 minutes, which was good. Once seated, we ordered our food and drinks. The wings were horribly over cooked and dry. The sauce we ordered for them was nothing but butter and fryer grease (ordered medium). Burger was over cooked and took a long time to come out. The restaurant was ear piercingly loud as everyone tried to talk over each other. In all, the staff was nice, the food could've been better, and the environment was loud (even for a bar). read more

The service, the place get patrons were friendly and exciting. The whole place joined in an we were singing along. Reminded me of the Pubs in Ireland. Food is always good but for me it's the charged positive atmosphere. Wednesday and Saturday has the best karaoke! Folks can carry a tune.... Like I went to a concert. This is my second time coming to this place and it's been a blast. Every time I come here I always get their wings and they are so amazing. The customer service is wonderful and everything about the place is so pretty. I wish I could thank the chef because the food is so amazing! Tried several flavors of wings and all were very good, especially the "24 Karat" sauce. This is similar to "gold medal" and other variations that are a bit of a hot mustard flavor. All I've had here were the wings so far. A friend ordered a burger and it looked good and they said it was good. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. My complain is the beer menu is very generic. It's getting pretty common for even the most average bars to carry at least 1 or 2 kegs of some non-wide-distribution beers, something not from DeCrescente. I would definitely go back. If you're in the area looking for a place to grab a bit and some beer with friends this is a pretty good choice. There's a lot of seating. So even on a busy night you should be able to be seated relatively quickly. read more

I love this place. My family frequents the Rusty Nail which is a well run Bar/Restaurant with something to offer everyone. If you are looking to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and check out a game, the many flat screens are available to make your experience a good one. If you wanna bring the fam for dinner, they have a separate room off of the main bar area where you can enjoy dinner, some drinks, and maybe a little QuickDraw. The bartenders are responsible and take care to not allow someone to drink themselves into a coma. They have all of the NFL games on Sunday's and enough flat screens to enjoy the games and QuickDraw. This is the best bar in the Clifton Park area in my opinion for those who want to have a good time and not worry dealing with the delinquents (that you might find at a place like Tailgators). read more

Both times I was there to celebrate birthdays. First was mine and we were able to polish almost all of my birthday wings. Yes I getting older and that means more wings to eat. We have only stopped here once. The food is great. Everything was served hot. The beer was cold and the waitress was very friendly. Bar area was packed and I felt like I was at the movies as many times as I needed to say excuse me just to get to the bathroom. But there's a reason that many people crowd in one area. When I think of a place called the Rusty Nail I think of a dirty biker bar. This couldn't be farther from the truth. The Decor was completely updated and classy and full of flat screen tvs. It was nice but I would have enjoyed it more if it was a dive bar. I have heard people rave of their wings but i was let down. I like crispy wings but these were cooked beyond recognition and tiny. There was so little meat on the bones and what was there was completely dried out and tough. Lots of appetizers and sandwiches. Standard bar fare. Nothing that really stands out to make you want to come back. read more

We came here for my wife's birthday for their wing and drink deal, plus we had been there before and enjoyed the food. It was relatively quiet on a Saturday around 4pm, but there seemed to be some confusion with the service, it was clear multiple servers were attempting to cover the same tables, didn't seem to have the traditional areas to cover. The wings were cooked very well, nice and crispy, but the rest of the food was average at best on this trip. We are willing to go back based on past experiences, but the slow, jumbled service impacts the overall score on this visit. read more

My meal was nothing special. But the service was we're this place really failed. We were seated promptly but it took us flagging down our waitress to place drink orders. She was back with the drinks quickly and took our order. Once the food arrived in an acceptable amount of time that was the last we saw of her. The manager actually came to our table to offer us another drink. Before the meal was over we were both given foam boxes and asked 3 times if we were ready for the check. Went to the rusty nail for some good drinks and good food and that's exactly what I got. I went with another couple and it was so good! I got wings which where amazing and a good quesadilla. We went around 930 at night and we didn't feel rushed or bothered. It was our first time there so we needed a little time to order and they didn't mind at all. Very cool place and will be back! Somethings are pretty good, I would stick with basic items like sandwiches etc. Good wings,bu they can be inconsistent as others have noted. Atmosphere- 4 Stars. Completely understand if the place is busy but at give let take-out customers an accurate pick up time based on how crowded it actually is because there were others also waiting who were told the same time.
