Highly recommended and met its billing. This joint was packed on a busy Friday night but each of the staff were hustling to complete orders and get the plates served hot. I had one of the best burgers (The Maxon) I've ever tasted and it was so worth the long wait. We will absolutely return to this wonderful pub-restaurant.

Cajun pork ribeye salty gravy on mashed potatoes

Eight of us got together for a Sunday evening supper at 5:00. Our opinion: The food was very good, actually much better than Druthers and Ravenswood. The pretzels app was great. We also shared the brisket soft tacos--three of them--filled generously. The French Dip was the choice of two of us. The steak was tender, and the au jus was flavorful. The sides we selected were mashed potatoes which were delicious! We also ordered sides of the horseradish dip which was outstanding! The salad side was large and full of the usual veggies. Nice! Several Burgers of various types were enjoyed very much. The Chips were 5 stars! They were a little thicker than elsewhere and fried perfectly. Worthy of taking home the extras. Only negative (for second time here) was the Mac and Cheese. Even though it is creamy, it lacks much needed cheese flavor. It was the only food item we ordered that was disappointing. Even though the place was almost full, service was great! Efficient and organized. A 25% tip was well deserved! Handicapped parking in the back was ample, and a ramp with a strong railing lead to the entrance. Happy we came here rather than Druthers or Ravenswood, both of which we are familiar with.

This is our go to place when we don't feel like cooking. Friendly staff, quick service, and everything is made fresh. They have a beautiful patio for outdoor dining too. I love their hand cut fries. Their BLT dip appetizer never disappoints. Their chicken sandwiches are freshly breaded and well seasoned and the gravy they put on the gravy fries (poutine) is so good. And recently on a Tuesday, margaritas were on special. I chose the watermelon one and it was a thing of beauty! Refreshing and delicious.

Excellent service very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and everything that was on it. We were seated promptly when we got here the atmosphere was excellent. The food is fantastic. It is definitely someplace where I would recommend to come and try if you're looking for some delicious cuisine. It is a little bit bit loud, but it is a bar restaurant so that is the only drawback to it. It's a little hard to have a normal conversation inside, but I've been in places that were a lot louder than this. Overall, not a bad place at all.

What's not yo love about Maxon's, it's beautifully decorated, comfortable seating, amazing staff and delicious food!! You can't go wrong with any on the menu, the Oh Donna Burger and the Breakfast Tots with homemade Sausage Gravy (just ask yo replace the chipotle sauce with the gravy) are my go too's. Oh and the eings with homemade blue cheese are always perfectly cooked. I saved the best for last, the bartenders (Especially Jen) are always happy to help with drink suggestions and up for a friendly conversation. This place is just incredible.

Upon walking in the host and servers were super nice and we were seated promptly. The space itself is super nice! Not crowded at all but definitely means you should make a reservation as they are super popular! Food was amazing! DO NOT MISS THE ROLLS! I'd come back just for the rolls, they were so soft, fluffy, and light with the perfect flaky salt on top to balance with the whipped honey butter. Delicious! Everything else was also great, the hanger steak is also tender and loved the hash that came with it and the crab spaghetti had ample crab meat in it. Presentation was gorgeous. Love the seasonal menus and you really can't go wrong with anything here. We skipped out on dessert but I'm sure there's great options too. Highly recommend and hope to be back!

The food absolutely delivered. The chicken wings had that perfect crunch in every bite, and everything we ordered was on point, the pasta lovers (chicken and shrimp over penne), the chicken stack with eggplant, and the wings were all excellent. What stood out just as much was the service. Even though the place was packed, it still felt cozy, and the staff never missed a beat. Drinks were never empty, and you could tell the team is well-trained and dialed in. The owner was right there in the mix, delivering food, making drinks, and greeting customers. That kind of presence says a lot about a place. Nice touch on the way out too, being thanked for coming. It's simple, but it sticks. Definitely a spot worth going back to! PS don't skip dessert!

Luckily they were open so I could grab a bite. It's located in the historic town of Charlton and the place is quaint with a welcoming cozy feel. This would be a nice gathering place in colder months, as the stone fireplace is a major attraction as you walk in. For my snack, I had the classic calamari, the tavern poutine along with a grilled vegetable salad to share. I figured I would balance out my cheat day with some vegetables haha. It all came together quickly, and the wait wasn't bad. The portion size here is very shareable. My favorite by far was the tavern poutine as the breaded cheese curds and house made gravy with bacon really hits the spot. The calamari was a little on the chewy side and not as tender as I'd hoped. I would definitely pass on it. The grilled salad was presented nicely but had a ton of creamy balsamic on it. I would make a mental note to ask for dressing on the side. I personally am not a fan of overly dressed greens as I prefer them crisp. It wasn't bad, but not something I'd order again. Overall, my experience here was nice and I look forward to stopping in again.

This was an amazing experience. Every touch point was a pure joy, from the moment I entered and was promptly and politely seated, to the last few minutes as I chatted with one of the owners, Chris. Every single interaction we experienced gave us the comfort of being amongst friends who were happy to see us, and more importantly happy to be here. From our fully engaging server to the wonderful highschool sophomore who never let our water glasses get below half full, each and every person made our experience just that: an experience of excellence and perfect attention to detail. Our meals were just as delicious as the people. The Grilled Double-Cut Pork Chop was an absolute triumph--impeccably juicy, beautifully charred, and perfectly balanced by earthy morels, rich creamed ramps, and the bright, sweet pop of local cherries. The reimagined "Ratatouille" was a stunning work of art, featuring a beautifully seared zucchini steak, smoky eggplant crème, and a crisp, fresh nest of squash topped with plump, perfectly grilled shrimp. For the perfect conclusion, the Espresso Crème Brûlée delivered a silky, robust coffee custard beneath a shatteringly crisp caramelized crust, brilliantly elevated by the crunch of cacao nibs. What truly elevated the evening, however, was how flawlessly they handled my strict wheat- and grain-free dietary needs. Navigating menus with these restrictions can often feel stressful, but our server and the chef made every possible effort to accommodate me. They proactively verified every sauce and reduction to ensure they were safe, and the kitchen effortlessly modified the dessert by putting the biscotti on the side. To enjoy a multi-course, world-class meal with that level of meticulous care and total peace of mind is incredibly rare. They didn't just accommodate a restriction; they crafted a masterpiece around it. We certainly won't be waiting another 8 years to return.

Another friend, Pam, had highly recommended Emma Jayne's Restaurant which is only a couple of traffic lights from Trader Joe's - a perfect location for our trip. The restaurant sits just north of Fred the Butcher (next door, literally) for those who frequent that establishment, on Route 9. There is off-street parking. When we arrived at 12:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, the front parking spaces were full. (Note: there may be parking around back; I didn't check) We thought we might have to wait for a table. Wrong! The restaurant is surprisingly spacious with two large rooms furnished with tables that were thoughtful spaced apart. A photo of an adorable young girl, whom we assumed was the dining establishment's namesake, was on the wall. Let me be sure to mention that the ladies room, which smelled faintly of bleach, was spotless. I mean REALLY clean! About the food ... my friend and I shared an appetizer of Fried Calamari. It was an ample portion (took some home) accompanied by sweet chili sauce - a nice change from typical marinara served at other places. However, the calamari was small and overcooked. As a result, what was presented was a plate of small, overly crisp rings of 90% batter. No squid! For our entrees, Barb chose the Chicken Salad Sandwich. She requested that it be served on a pretzel bun (touted as homemade) for which we were hit with an up-charge of $3.50. The chicken salad had grapes and walnuts in it and Barb liked it very much. The up-charged pretzel roll did not appear to be homemade. Very disappointing. Had she known it would be uninspiring, she would have accepted the brioche roll. Macaroni salad - not very exciting - accompanied the sandwich along with a pickle. I love seafood and was torn between ordering the Fish and Chips (halibut) and Lobster Pot Pie (an appetizer). Our server, Drew, gets a gold star for suggesting the second one when I told him I wasn't a big eater. Apparently, the halibut, while highly recommended, is a sizable portion. The pot pie was superb! The rich, creamy sauce was divine. I couldn't eat it all and will enjoy the rest of it for lunch today. Emma Jayne's menu has something for everyone. Our server, Drew, was informative and attentive. While we may make other food choices (skip the calamari and pretzel bun but keep the pot pie), we will definitely return.
