Selected this place for my birthday brunch primarily for the views which didn't disappoint. Super picturesque and overall a nice ambiance. Our waiter Gilbert (or Gilberto) was super prompt, friendly and helpful with his suggestions. Bottomless mimosas had 3 very interesting flavors like charcoal lemonade. My favorite was the classic. The crab cake was amazing! The fried chicken wasn't anything to brag about - thought it was kind of a cultural faux pas to serve it with watermelon given the connotation but we just chuckled about it. I had a random craving for sushi so I ordered a piece of sashimi which was delicious. They definitely know what they're doing with that. The lobster Benedict wins a million bucks on presentation. Haven't been here since 2020 when I left Miami, but my favorite brunch in town has certainly changed from what it used to be. No more buffet and now it's all done off the menu. Food wasn't bad, memosa's were great (loved all 4 variations) but the overall experience just wasn't what it once was and the service was a little disappointing (dirty glasses, not replacing silverware, etc) Still a classic destination for ambiance but hopefully you don't get put in a corner like we did and have a server stations blocking the view. read more

One fantastic view thats for sure! Slow to get seated with a reservation at slow time of the day. Service was average to below average at best! The salad and appetizers came together and the meals came with in 3 minutes of the salad and appetizer. Steak was good not great. Cesar salad looked like someone spilled a half a pound of cheese on it and had a Heavy anchovy taste to it. Server never cleared the table of empty beers and we were there for 2 hours and never once got a refill on water. After we finished eating we didn't see the server for over 20 minutes! I've been to this restaurant a ton of times both living on KB and visiting after moving. 4 stars for service both in the bar and at dining. 4 stars for the most amazing views and the atmosphere. Sitting outside enjoy the views and air with the lights outside in the evening makes for a great dinner date or for anyone, or during the day watching all the cool boats cruise around. 4 stars for the drinks and presentation. Sadly, the last 2 times we have been the food has been disappointing. I'd give the food a 3, and we order a lot. It's Lacking flavor and cooked not the best. But presentation is great. We came here for a birthday dinner and I'm so happy this was our dinner spot! We had a dinner reservation for 2 for 8:30pm on a Wednesday and were seated immediately. They asked our preference for indoor or outdoor which we chose inside and then were seated at the best table in the restaurant! The service was stellar, ambiance was wonderful, food was great, price for worth was understandable, and view was impeccable. It feels as you're on your own little island when you're eating here. Lina was our server and guided us throughout the menu and was the sweetest ever. Darwin was also great! We started off with caviar fries and calamari and were served a complimentary cornbread. These were the perfect starters and definitely made us excited for the main course. It was our first time trying caviar and although it was a bit fishy (as to be expected), the fries and sauce balanced it out well. For our main course, we were very hungry and decided to go with the 'Rusty Pelican Board for Two' and it did not disappoint! Our server explained the contents of the board when it came out and there was a lot of food. We couldn't finish all of it but we tried out best. The steak was cooked to our preference of medium well and juicy, the lobster and shrimp were tasty, the fish was perfectly tender and crispy skin, the side salad was a great touch just had a little bit too much garlic in the dressing. I wrote in our reservation that it was my boyfriend's birthday which our server said happy birthday when we sat down. We didn't order a dessert as we were so full but Lina was so kind and sweet and brought out a small oreo ice cream scoop with a candle. It was the perfect touch to a great intimate dinner celebration. The view, the view, the view! Absolutely blown away by the incredible view of the Miami skyline. It was beautiful and romantic. I'm glad we came here at night rather than for lunch because the lights glistening on the water was pretty. We went outside after we were finished to fully take in the view and the staff were very friendly. We didn't order any drinks as we aren't big drinkers. Me and my husband stopped by after a visit to the Miamiseaquarium for lunch, the food was a bit expensive but a good variety of seafood. The view is what you come for, from the patio you can view the boats passing by as you enjoy your food. The service was good, as a former manager of a popular restaurant I tend to notice where we get seated comparatively to other guests and it seemed as though they lumped us together with a larger party which seemed a little awkward because they were obviously having a good time where as we were a couple so something more quiet and secluded would have been nice. Came here after jet ski's and did not have a reservation. They still got us seated super quick! The view is gorgeous is you get seated outside but you can see it a little from some of the indoor seats. The restaurant it's self is pretty and most people are dressed nicer. I loved the French toast. The fruit on top was refreshing especially the apples and the toasted marshmallows were yummy. The spider roll came out different than I expected. Typically when I've had soft shell crab you get the whole crab but this was cut up which made it easier to eat. The flavors were delicious and the perfect size of sushi. My boyfriend got the burger and said he really liked it. The fries were good but nothing spectacular. All the staff were wonderful! A recent business trip to Miami had me and my best friend and colleague needing a reprieve from work on a day from business meetings. I made a reservation for Sunday afternoon on the patio so we could have a view of the Biscayne Bay and take in the ocean breezes. There is valet parking and the lobby is beautiful should you need to wait. The bar is also nice with a view. We had a great waitress, I can not remember her name, (maybe Lisa??), she was amazing! We could not get over how beautiful this unobstructed view was and that I was lucky enough to score a Sunday afternoon reservation! We arrived between lunch and dinner and our waitress let us take a look at both menus. We started with mojitos and not wanting them too sweet, she obliged working with the bartender and had us taste them when she delivered. I was pleasantly, OVERWHELMING surprised that on the special was Stone Crab Claws!!. I had not even thought of them on this trip to Miami, and I was so happy that here they were! I decided that was going to be my meal! We enjoyed the view and being away from our 'work' and etc. while just catching up for like a good hour before ordering and we never felt rushed. I even asked if they were going to need the table, as this appeared to a place that may need to turn the table and she said to 'take our time this was our table!' We decided to order the Smoked Peach/Burrata Salad. I got the 3 large Stone Crab Claws , mp $80 and my friend the Seabass which was served with a Caribbean Mash and Salsa which was super different but good. My claws were amazing! Our server kept moving the umbrella as we moved around our table to miss the ever heating sun! We are on the bay, after all! We shared Moet and it was a perfect Sunday afternoon off and on the beautiful Biscayne. The service was perfect and Rusty Pelican was also perfect. Had a delicious brunch ! We started our brunch off with the mimosas. We got each flavor from the menu -all good- but the only one that really tasted different was the dragon fruit and watermelon mimosa. With that being said I wasn't blown away by the drinks but they still were good. We then got the birria empanadas and they were absolutely delicious , the sauce on the side is flavorful , the perfect addition. For our meals we got the Cuban sandwich and the Jaliscos beef birria Benedict. Let me tell you, the beef Benedict was phenomenal! It was sweet from the waffle , savory from the meat and had the perfect crunch. It was something unique , I definitely recommend getting. As you can see from the pictures we loved our meals. The service was great. Our waiter was attentive and always made sure we had our drinks. The view you get from the restaurant is worth it. It's absolutely beautiful. Decided to take my mother and sister out for Mother's Day. We went the day before to avoid the crowds. Starting with parking, only valet. No self-parking, 20 dollars for VIP valet parking. You pay the cashier located outside when you are done dining. I was seated to my table upon arrival. Our waiter was okay, nothing special to write about. The food in my opinion could've been better for the price. I had the salmon and the piece was so small. But another member at the table salmon piece was bigger, don't understand how they do their portions. I had the strawberry mule drink which was really good. Amazing location delicious food and great service. I got the Miami spice menu during my visit but the entire menu is wonderful. Highly recommend the burrata salad! If you get here around sunset you get a full view of Miami by both day and night. Instagram tip: there's a pathway around the side of the front of the building with a little dock that goes all the way around the side of the building and you can get totally unobstructed photos of the view (although I got some great ones from the table as well!). We had a remarkable date night at Rusty Pelican. The service staff were committed to attention to detail and were customer service oriented; It was all about the experience. My drink was called the Belle and came in a beautiful presentation, with smoke coming out of the drink. Our food was delectable, especially the fresh sea bass! We were given outside seating right by the water, the weather was perfect and the sea breeze made the experience that much more enjoyable. Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance and if the weather is nice sit outside ! If it's not ask for the view by the bar which still overlooks the water. Now let's get to the food. The caviar fries for $20 something dollars did not impress me as our starter. While it was good it just wasn't all that that so maybe skip that app. The calamari however was chefs kiss with whatever that dipping sauce was. My main course which was catfish did not disappoint. Beautiful view to all of downtown Miami this establishment is great for anyone wanting to have a oceanfront dinner with their loved ones or friends. I highly recommend coming here all year around. For appetizer we had the octopus which was amazing. For entrees we ordered the pompano and fried snapper. After the appetizer the food took about 45 minutes to come to the table, anyone with a toddler knows this is a disaster. The fried snapper lacked flavor, it seemed fresh but had no flavor whatsoever. We came here to celebrate a pal's promotion to law partner, and were definitely glad we tried this Miami institution again after all these years. 5-star ambience. The real star of this show is the drop-dead-gorgeous view of the Miami skyline, especially at sunset. Since it's on the causeway out to Key Biscayne, literally out in Biscayne Bay, you get the Miami Vice opening credits view of the skyline, no helicopter required. Sit outside if you can, both to appreciate that killer view and to appreciate that it's 70 in December in Miami : ) 5-star service. Our server Sergio was terrific. For a very busy, somewhat touristy place on a weekend, service was well-coordinated and friendly. Our newly minted law partner got a toast not only from the staff (one of whom brought him a birthday hat, in a funny mistake), but also a little clink of glasses from other customers and an exchange of business cards. Todos en Miami son abogados LOL. For a large restaurant, Rusty Pelican can feel very neighbor-hoody. 3-star food. My only real gripe was the food, which was so-so. Lobster and shrimp risotto was too salty and the risotto was either undercooked or not risotto, I couldn't really tell. The plan was to noodle around in Biscayne Bay on our pal's boat afterward, and we did wind up taking our leftovers.
