My boyfriend took me to this restaurant for my birthday, and it was an incredible experience, largely thanks to our waiter, Joshua. He was super attentive, making our visit both fun and relaxed. Joshua had a great sense of timing, maintaining eye contact so we could easily order drinks or ask for help without any delay. My boyfriend would just make eye contact with him, and Joshua knew exactly what we needed. He was knowledgeable about the menu and had a friendly yet chill vibe that made us feel right at home. For me, food and drinks are important, but as long as they're decent, it's always the service that shapes my visit more than anything else--and Joshua definitely made me want to come back! He was professional while also being real and authentic, and it felt like we got to know him on a personal level. I was very impressed! Everything was incredible! Rusty Pelican lives up to the hype. We chose our table by the window inside because the day was a little rainy and the view was amazing! Our service was great from beginning to end, we weren't rushed at all. We started with the cornbread which was so good. The short rib empanadas were one of the highlights of the night. The snapper was perfectly done and so flavorful, as well as the lobster and shrimp risotto. Everything we tried was delicious. The view is definitely stunning but the food is great as well! The only thing great about this place is the view! First you should know going in there is no self park. If you self park they still charge you $10 if you park valet or not. And they take it upon themselves to take a $2 without asking. The food is over the top expensive without the food being that great. We had such a nice time going to happy hour at the Rusty Pelican! The one knock on the place is they only have valet parking and it's nine dollars for the cheapest option. But the restaurant itself is a really nice vibe, decorated beautifully and an open concept that lets you see the bay and the city; outdoor seating is also plentiful and comes with terrific views. The bartender was just super friendly and helpful with everything on the menu; the sliders and charcuterie were our favorites. We also had a couple of really nice drinks and were invited to go outside and walk around. Happy hour pricing is also really decent. It's always a good time for brunch. Had brunch with a friend and we decided to try Rusty Pelican. We had a reservation and it still took about 25 minutes for us to be seated. There was a bit of some seating arrangement issues at first but it eventually got sorted out. We started out with the bottomless mimosas. It was dope that there were different flavors for this bottomless mimosas. By far the favorite was the dragonfruit and watermelon mimosa. We started off with the calamari that was delicious. Crispy and golden and fried to perfection. I ordered the crab cake Benedict as my entree that came with a side of potatoes. The crab cake Benedict was delicious. Right on the water with a perfect view of downtown Miami it's a great place to bring people who have not been to Miami before. My husband wanted a restaurant with a "vibe" and great sunset and the Rusty Pelican delivered! The floral all with neon sign was a great spot for Instagram worthy photos. Beautiful space right in the water overlooking downtown Miami. We were unable to get outside seating but had a lovely table at the window. We ordered the Ube Bao Bun. The filling was very good, the bun itself was different texture/consistency than other bao buns we've had, but still delicious. We had the classic Caesar salad. Huge portion! Well dressed. We decided to have the arroz meloso for two and we both agreed it was the best meal we had on our trip to Miami. Front of the house is pitiful. Had a reservation at 7:00pm, did not get seated until 7:42pm. The entire time during the delay, the front house was very dismissive and rude. When asked for an update they responded "everyone has reservations." No apologies or anything of the kind for the front staff service that took longer than the return of Jesus Christ himself. Back of the house staff is nice. That said, no water put at the table until 8:27pm. Our orders were not taken until this point either (so an hour and 27mins into being seated). We had to ask for another wine glass 3 times for someone at our table. You can be nice, but certainly not slow and unintentional with your efforts. McDonald's has more hustle than these people. Kitchen outperformed everything. It is hard to do wrong even in your own kitchen when you serve steak and fried seafood, but it's still very good. Overall, dinner was longer than a Monday, even with fantastic company. It's two stars just because of the food. Every other aspect stunk worse than the paper mill. My table wants to order dessert, my phone will probably die before staff comes to take the order and the dish arrives, so this is the review. Y'all take care, bye bye read more

Also beware and make sure you valet park if you don't want your car booted and have to pay $62.50 like we did and the worst part is that no one informed us that parking was valet parking only! It's hard to even give a review right now because we are so upset. We contacted the restaurant and the manager was very apologetic but that was the end of it. The food was just ok but definitely not great. I had to return my dish twice because it came out cold. $41 for four tiny pieces of scallops seems excessive to me, but maybe that's just me. We ordered oysters and herb encrusted octopus for appetizers the oysters were delicious I loved the fact that the garnishes were served in viles instead of ramekins. The octopus was served with on a good serving of squid ink piled with fingerling potatoes and vegetables. The octopus was tender to bite and cooked perfectly.
