We had such a great experience hosting our baby shower at the Rusty Pelican. The venue was beautiful, the food was great, and everything came together perfectly. Jessica was wonderful throughout the entire process. She was incredibly patient, kind, friendly, and always helpful with every question and detail along the way. She made the planning process so much easier and was a pleasure to work with. We're so happy we chose the Rusty Pelican for such a special day!
I came to sample the Miami spice lunch. Service was pleasant but rather slow. The views here are incredible. This is the MAIN reason to visit imo. I tried their empanadas, followed by their flounder burger. This then followed by their orange Cointreau creme brulee. The star for me was the dessert.
my birthday dinner here was a upscale and perfect restaurant for an event, for me specifically my birthday. Loved the view, food was 10/10 and the drinks unique and stronggg! thank you to the staff for being accommodating and helpful, this is now one my FAV spots.
The views were absolutely impeccable! My friend and I had this shared meal where it came with steak, red snapper and a bunch of sides and we couldn't even finish it. It was so much food and it was so good! The service was great our server was so kind given it was my birthday!
Although the day was good I thought it could be better. Our server was excellent although it felt like management Hand cuffed her . Small details like asking for a sauce on the side not being allowed because of presentation seemed petty and small , although for one in out party it caused a major issue due to a dietary issue. Also the odd rule about to go boxes as well . I honestly expect a fine dinning service to remove un-eaten food back to the kitchen and box it up for us. Treating us like a fast causal when it comes to that really hurt my perception of this place as fine dinning. In fact I would say it's more of an upper causal restaurant with fine dinning prices. I will say that cinnamon roll was excellent and so was the chai drink. I would also recommend the birria empanada as those were really good. Every else was good to above average but nothing to amazing
My wife and I had the RUSTY PELICAN LUNCH BOARD FOR 2. $135 - Photos to follow. Very good, but could be better. Lobster Benedict, N.Y. Strip, Fried chicken and (1) waffle, Fingerling potatoes. Plating somewhat sloppy. We also had two Classic Mojitos at $17 each. Service was good by Everett. What you see on the photos is exactly what you get. Is it worth it? You tell me. Ambiance is very relaxing, outside seating available next to the water. We're both 66 and have been coming here since 1977. Totally different experience back then. Highly recommend if in the area.
Came here for my mother-in-law's birthday, and we had a great time. We started off with some coffee and ordered the Rusty Pelican Brunch Board for Two, we got two boards for five people, and it was perfect. The food was amazing. The lobster benedict was honestly the best I've had, and the steak melted in your mouth. The fried chicken was super juicy, and the cream on the waffles was delicious. At the end, we had their café con leche lava cake with cookies and cream ice cream, and the bread pudding. I would go back just to have the bread pudding again. The view was also beautiful. We sat by the window and had ocean views, and the service was great. Overall, we had a really nice experience and would definitely come back
Perfectly Flawless Dining Experience. From the breathtaking view of Miami to the lovely decor and ambiance, this is a must do seafood restaurant when in town! Krishna took wonderful care of us, Angela made the Mojoto Experience both educational and delicious, while the quality of our food was impeccable. We shared the Hamachi Crudo ahi tuna appetizer, then Laurie had the Arroz Meloso rice and fresh seafood dish while I enjoyed the Crispy Whole Local Snapper. We finished it all off with spectacular key lime pies. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back whenever we're back in town!
For starters, we kicked things off with the Caesar salad and the burrata salad--both were generously portionsed and perfectly complemented by the complimentary jalapeño cornbread. Everything felt fresh and flavorful. Drinks were on point all around. I sipped the One in a Melon, a refreshing watermelon creation with a magical balance of sweet and tart--truly delicious. My husband loved his classic margarita without a single complaint. For the mains, I went with the lobster and shrimp risotto. It was hearty, meaty, and satisfyingly filling, with a well-balanced flavor profile. My spouse enjoyed the Chilean sea bass, perched on a bed of mashed plantains and crowned with a vibrant pineapple-mango salsa. Both dishes were excellent, and we'd happily order them again on a return visit. Overall, a fantastic dining experience--we left eager to come back and relive these flavors.
I'm a big fan of Rusty Pelican, their happy hour is one of my favorite to go too so when I heard I was going to Brunch I was very excited. Our service was okay, we had to wait a bit for a few things but other than that our server was attentive. We ordered a seafood tower for 4 which was delicious and then I ordered tacos which were fresh and tasted delicious! We were sitting outside by the water under an umbrella so we weren't getting too much sun. It was a beautiful slightly windy day outside and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! The seafood tower had sashimi and sushi rolls on the bottom level, oysters on the second level, and two lobster tails and shrimp on the very top layer of the tower. Everything was fresh and tasted so good. We asked for extra sauces and soy sauce and it took all couple times of asking but we eventually got them. The wine we order was delicious, they brought out ice buckets with water so it was chilled. We had Mer Soleil Reserve Santa Lucia Highland Chardonnay. It was light and refreshing. The fries that were a side with my tacos were delicious! I believe they were truffle fries, they were so fresh and crispy. I would definitely order it again! I look forward to planning another brunch at Rusty Pelican soon!
I remember this place being a lot better than it was, but I think it's just because we went at lunchtime so the selection wasn't great It was over an hour and a half to get our food, and once it came, it was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I will say the dessert was absolutely fantastic. It was a lava cake that is made with coffee and it was something that I will definitely be back for. That being said, this place is stunning for views of the beach and the Miami coast, and it has a very relaxed, elegant vibe.
Rusty Pelican is a Miami staple! Celebrating a milestone? Rusty Pelican. Friend visiting from out of town? Rusty Pelican? Good food with a great view that isn't overly hyped? Rusty Pelican! I have come here before moving to Miami and continue to come here for the last 6.5 years here. The food is solid, the cocktails are great, the staff is super friendly and sweet. One downside is the parking, it's valet but other than that it's a great spot!
This restaurant has a beautiful view of the Miami S skyline. Our server was very quick and attentive! Of the three dishes, the hamachi crudo was a little sour for my liking and a bit unlike other ones i've had before. The lobster grilled cheese and burrata salad were really good

For starters, this place is iconic for Miami so I appreciate that in itself. With that being said, the location for this restaurant is the main attraction. The view is unmatched and the cost of the experience surely pays for it. The service was great. Everyone was nice and professional, starting with the valet, the front desk, and the waitress that was assigned to us. We were a table of 12, so a pretty large group. They werent able to give us a table next to the window although we had a prior reservation and had asked for it which is fine, all the tables have somewhat of a view, but it would have been nice to see if they just tried to accomodate. On to the food. I was unamused. Out if the 12 people in our table, about 8 were unamused as well. The food is pricey, the presentation of the food is fantastic, but the food itself tasted mediocre. I personally had a sushi which I did not enjoy. The spider roll only comes with 8 pieces for $25 dollars which is one of the cheaper options in the menu. I couldnt eat more then 4. Other dishes served to our table included the salmon, the lobster risotto, the caesar salad with chicken, the spicy tuna roll, the tomohawk steak, the half chicken, among others. Not a single person said "this food was delicious." And that should say something. All in all, I appreciate the staff and the ambiance of the restaurant. I also appreciate how nice the presentation of the food was. But the food itself was not tastey for the price you are paying which is disappointing for a Miami local. These iconic Miami restaurants should be encouraging you to come back, but i personally will not. read more

Happy to be back to the Rusty Pelican. It has been completely renovated and the menu has been revamped. The views as always are amazing. We came for the happy hour specials and ended up having dinner. Everything was delicious. The calamari is crispy and the sauce is amazing. We also had oysters for happy hour on special. We shared Brussel sprouts and the Chilean sea bass. Everything was spectacular. The service was exceptional. Both Fabian and Yohan at the bar were helpful but not intrusive. My partner enjoyed the Expresso martini. We had an excellent time and will be back. My compliments to the chef for reinventing Rusty Pelican. read more

Spectacular view...was charged for a drink I never received...ordered the lobster and shrimp risotto , they left it under the heat lamp until it was nothing but a dried out shell with chewy meat...the shrimp were also like chewing leather ...go for pictures, drinks at the bar...but the food is better at other places ...sorry but this was a big disappointment on a special birthday night read more

What a good time we had here, Adrian and Vanys made sure we prepare and recommend cocktails according to our likes. The drinks I had were the old fashioned with rye whisky, the dark side of the moon, and a spicy cocktail that Adrian prepared for me after asking what I normally look for in a drink. Also, the food was delicious, we got the grilled octopus and the empanadas. The place is really nice, and it's perfect if you make it there before sunset, cocktails, and sunset. There are no restaurants with better water views than the Rusty Pelican - Miami, which is the reason Beloved and I went there, and we were impressed. We found the best indoor view from a corner high-top table in the bar area. The regular inside dining areas leave you with views obstructed by the outdoor patio dining umbrellas. We would have taken one of those but it was too hot outside on that day. We were there for lunch and I found the choices on the lunch menu to be rather small and not very impressive. Though it had a good raw bar selection of about 4 different oysters with a unique Pink Peppercorn and Champagne Mignonette, the rest of the menu was rather ho-hum. For my meal, I started with a glass of PENFOLDS MAX'S RED BLEND, SOUTH AUSTRALIA 2018, and their Smoked Tomato Salad consisting of organic greens, heirloom tomatoes, toasted quinoa, goat cheese, cucumbers, pickled shallots, and smoked tomato vinaigrette, which I found to be very good. As an entrée, I had their ten-ounce prime skirt steak. I asked for a chimichurri sauce but it only came with their house onion reduction which was plenty tasty. Beloved started off with a Snapper Ceviche combining sweet potatoes, choclo (an Andean variety of corn), lime juice, aji Amarillo, onions, and cilantro, which he kidded very much. And for his main dish, a fish burger, which he also said was good. Though the Rusty Pelican has gorgeous views and good food, nothing unique or special. Maybe dinner is something else, but I don't know about dinner, and quite frankly, from what I had and saw at lunch, not all that interested in finding out. read more

my first visit to rusty pelican was such a pleasant surprise - the waterfront setting with the miami skyline is unreal, and the whole place has this warm, easy atmosphere that instantly puts you in a good mood. the staff were genuinely kind, our waiter was on top of everything, and the food came out fast. we tried the caviar frites and the herb-marinated grilled octopus, both delicious, but the caviar frites were the standout! i can't wait for my next visit. read more

Although this is not my first visit to Rusty Pelican this experience was by far the best one I've had. That's all thanks to our wonderful server, Melissa. Not only was she attentive and nice, we continued our conversation well after we finished brunch and after her shift was over. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. My husband and I have come here many times for various occasions (birthday parties, Mother's Day, etc) and have had the pleasure of enjoying every facet of the menu (brunch, lunch & dinner thru various menu change up's). The food has yet to disappoint. This time around, we went for brunch and brought a friend of ours who had never been to the Rusty Pelican. Everything we ordered was top notch. Kudos to whoever thought of the accoutrement board for the oysters (we had 1/2 a dozen kushi's and 1/2 dozen pink moons). For entrees we ordered the fried snapper, lobster panini & crab cake Benedict, all of which came out great. To top it off we indulged in the bottomless mimosas. The great food, waterfront view and overall ambiance was as stellar as ever but Melissa was the one who really elevated this visit. We will be requesting her next visit and every one after that. Absolutely amazing experience, loved this place and would definitely go back here! The ambiance is spot on, the restaurant is on a river and we went here for brunch. The entrance has a pretty floral wall with Rusty Pelican written for pictures. There's a wine cellar kind of a thing inside with a good collection of wines. There's a small cute fountain at the entrance as well. Make sure to reserve before going here as it seemed busy. The service was amazing! There's plenty of seating inside and outside with the river view and that's what we had picked for ourselves while making the reservation. The drinks were very nice and the presentation and taste of food was spot on! We ordered the salmon tartar and grilled street corn for appetizers. The corn was melting in the mouth it was so good there was a hint of butter in it. The tartar was extremely refreshing! Great ambiance! Cannot beat the view from both the indoor tables by the windows or from the outdoor patio. Food is good, just less spectacular than the view. My lobster risotto tasted good, but I thought the risotto was a little too undercooked and the lobster was way overcooked to the point that it was tough and chewy. My companion ordered the surf and turf and his filet mignon was perfect, nice and tender. Gracious service. Servers here really know how to treat the customers well. My coconut cocktail was strong and delicious. The dessert was also good - lava cake with ice cream. Do make a reservation (a must on the weekends). Valet parking only on weekends. We went for happy hour only but the food was great, the ambiance and vibe was really welcoming, with the view right on the ocean. Great food, drinks, views and service. What more can you ask for? Took my family here for brunch and really enjoyed everything. We started our meal with Ube bao buns. These were super delicious; my only complaint is it just comes with 2. For entrees my gf got the fish tacos and I got the fried chicken and waffles. My daughter got the kids cheeseburger. We all really enjoyed our food. I also elected to get the bottomless mimosas which were great. They have a variety of unique flavors like lavender charcoal activated lemonade and watermelon dragonfruit which was my favorite. Service was attentive and I never needed to wait for a refill. Beautiful view, wonderful space, awesome food and drinks! I went for Happy hour which is from 4-6:30 M-F at the lounge area. I have only been for breakfast so I was excited to try new food items. I ordered the Wagyu Salchipapa which was amazing, fries so crisp and the hot dog was delicious, the Sliders (come in 2), the One Biter (which has crab inside), and our bartender Favian made us a Gin drink which was delicious! Had some peach in there to complement. I also ordered the Maraquya drink. It was good, but I think the taragon taste was a little overwhelming, but the presentation was great. read more

Had to wave down the server a few times but the food came out fast after I ordered. Views | Chicken and Waffles | Brunch Views - this place has one of the iconic views of Miami/brickle. We went for brunch on a Sunday, and it was amazing. We arrived at 1200 and had the perfect view of the brickle skyline, boats, and south beach. You really can't beat this view on a sunny day. It was the ideal way to end our trip. Chicken and Waffles - I had the chicken and waffles. It was substantial but messy -- definitely, not a meal for a date or a business meeting. It is hard to eat because the bone is in. Therefore, you have to eat it by hand. I would try a different meal if I went back. Additionally, this meal is super popular. I ordered it at 1230 and received the last one for the day. So, be prepared to have a backup meal. Brunch - This is one of the sceney spots. The view is next level, and the food/price ratio is one of the best in the city. Therefore, it is extremely popular between 1000 - 1400 Saturdays and Sundays. Pro Tip - request a table on the patio to take advantage of the view and outdoors. Pro Tip - make a reservation two or more weeks out if you are doing a Saturday or Sunday Brunch. Pro Tip - they have valet, but it takes a minute to get your car. So, you probably want to uber out to the venue. read more

Came here for Father's Day brunch and did their brunch offering for the day. We were seated at a wonderful table inside with bay front views. Our server was attentive and sweet. The owner Rafael came and checked on us many times. What great hospitality! We came with our kids and their kids brunch was a great deal. For $35 they got to choose between items like filet & eggs, Belgium waffle, salmon, mac n cheese etc. it came with a drink and they were included in pairing with our 4 course brunch offerings. First came out a yummy nectarine and feta salad. It was light and refreshing. Charcuterie and seafood platter came out second. THE BEST charcuterie board I have ever had and I've had plenty. The grilled cheese with tomato bisque on it was amazing! And I don't even like grilled cheese. Our kids loved the mochi donuts. There was a pistachio cheese ball that was delicious paired with crackers and prosciutto. Drooling just thinking about it! My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs Benedict which the steak was cooked perfectly. My lobster Benedict was flavorful and I received a whole lobster tail. The poached eggs were also cooked perfectly. Both kids ate their brunch and was happy. By the time dessert came we were stuffed but still managed to try a bit of everything. The price of adult brunch was $98 per person but we felt the quality of food and the options, service, and atmosphere fit the price tag. Can't wait to come again for a romantic dinner. read more

My Miami friend recommended this place and it did not disappoint. I was in Miami for two days solo so I didn't have a reservation-no problem. Showed up on Sunday and it seemed to be peak brunch hour-I opted for the bar which had plenty of seats with a fantastic view. The server/bar tender, Fabio, quickly made me feel welcome. A margarita and then I ordered the Cuban eggs Benedict with plantains and short rib empanadas. Wow-my new favorite style of Benedict! It was a hybrid of a fantastic Cubano and Benedict. The empanadas (my first ever), were so delicious and the plantains (my 2nd ever), are my newest favorite side dish. Location! Location! Location! Biscayne Bay views, ocean breezes, and the Miami skyline make this place very enjoyable and that's before you're even seated and have eaten. This place is located on the west end of Virginia Key on Biscayne Bay directly off of the Rickenbacker highway. Our servers were great and accommodated our party nicely. We were originally seated outside but then places inside when it started to drizzle. I recommend the Salmon as well as the seafood platter/tower. It had been years since I'd been to Rusty Pelican but the view is still as breathtaking as I remember. I feel like most tables have a nice view and it's just a beautiful interior as well. Service was excellent. We started with the seafood tower which easily fed 7 of us. I had the scallops which were nice and well-cooked and my boyfriend had the filet mignon which he really liked. Their wine list was great. And we even had dessert - I believe it was a souffle type dish but we devoured it so I did not take a photo to remember. This is the type of place you come for a nice birthday or other occasion. The attire of patrons varied so the dress code is not super strict. Valet parking seems to be the only option here. read more

The menu is very poor n so service n food quality. Just the view is good
Is free parking there?
yes. (They have valet for a tip/fee) Also the parking FILLS up quickly & you might have to park far away FYI.
Does anyone know if they have blackened fish on the menu?
You can for sure order fish blackened if you wish there even if you don't see it on the menu!
