    Individual Pizza

Stopped by for lunch for the first time while out enjoying the Summerland block party. Wonderful stop to get a quick, tasty lunch. Grabbed their Quick Lunch and were surprised by how good it was. You get an individual pizza, small salad, and a drink. I was surprised by how much food you actually get - generous portions for just $12. Got a thick crust pizza - sauce could've been a bit more flavorful but otherwise delicious. The thin crust looked great - definitely want to try that next time. Salad came with a good portion of veggies, too. There's decent outdoor seating options with shade for those hot days. Great location to enjoy the local shops as well. Good lunch stop.

While Rustys Pizza - still one of my favorite and I'll take an hour and a half drive just to get it. The Summerland location needs improving with the person in charge. (The so-called manager)has no customer service, none!, A bit abrasive when people have to come in and spend money, especially in these days at least be courteous, customer service goes a long way. the young woman that works there, which is not very clear. I used to drive all the way to Santa Barbara till I discovered Summerland, now Disappointed.

    Pizza has shrunken.

Last time I visit. I'm 63 and have been coming here since I was a kid. Ordered two Rusty's lunch specials which include a personal pizza, salad and drink. Price is now $14.50 + tax. The pizza is cut into 4 TEENY slices. One horizontal cut and one vertical cut. You used to get 6 larger slices. The pizza size shrunk a lot. See my photo In comparison to my hand. For reference, I'm 5 ft tall and my hands are tiny but look large next to the pizza. So, they raised the cost AND cut way back on the portion. I'm not going to be made a fool of in terms of paying that much for a teeny size marginal tasting pizza. On another note, the girl that helped us couldn't speak English! The staff should be able to communicate with the customers.

Rusty's special, with no anchovies, 8 wings and a small soda. Good eating on a rainy night :)

Just like old times! Was at the sacred space today in Summerland and found Rusty's down the way, WOW so delicious! Small pizza place with outdoor seating. Service was great! The food was really really good. The buffalo wings were spicy and juicy. The pizza was crispy with a thin crust. When we were little we would frequent Rusty's a lot and it brought back sweet childhood memories. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving a slice of pizza / wings.

Jennifer was our server on a holiday weekend and she catered to the local crowd and tourists alike as if each of us were her only table. She apologized for the wait but there was no need because we had a great experience. I can't believe we had not visited the Nugget until now because we love the quiet beach across the road. After our beach walk we were looking for some drinks and an early meal to keep the beautiful day going. We ordered the full rack of ribs and tri tip French dip to accompany hubby's cold beers and my tall pomegranate spritz. Both meals were so flavorful and the ribs were so tender they fell off the ribs. My tri tip with au jus was also well seasoned and prepared. For our sides, we had salads which were equally fresh & well dressed and hubby enjoyed the crispy and cheat-worthy onion rings. I definitely understand why the Nugget is a favorite local spot and a great stop-over along Hwy 101 between Ventura and Santa Barbara.

There are plenty of indoor and outdoor causal seats to relax. I just popped in for a drink at the Third Window Brewery. This is Third Window Brewery second location, the first one is in SB. I was pleased to find that they offer two options for cider drinkers-- and one of the two is not too sweet. The cider was a little over 9 dollars. Beyond cider they offer a significant number of choices for beer. For beer drinkers they have Belgian and IPA options. The place seems to be very popular on the weekend around lunch time. Of course, it was Mother's Day too, but I am sure this place on the weekends, especially summer pulls a great deal of people in. The service at the bar was ok. They provided me exactly what I needed in a timely fashion.

We felt welcome in Pizza Man Dan's as it looked inviting. It was kind of like a Shakey's but we wanted to give it a shot since Rusty's looked packed. Clean restaurant and great customer service, but that didn't help the food. Although it looked great online, we were pretty disappointed. I felt that the pizza wasn't fantastic but it wasn't terrible it was just okay. We got a half and half pizza for the two of us. Although the barbecue chicken pizza with jalapeños was pretty good, the supreme pizza was just alright. Nothing too crazy but it was packed with toppings which is why we didn't feel it was bad. The potato wedges were chunky and soft. It was underwhelming not to chomp into a crispy exterior with a fluffy inside. These had a "from freezer, to microwave" consistency. Super oily too and for the price, the amount you get was not worth it. We did only spend a couple of minutes deciding where to eat, but if we were to go back, we'd probably choose another pizza spot entirely. Perhaps others have a strong connection to the food here but for us, Pizza Dan was not the Pizza man.

Server walking back and forth till we pulled him to our table to take our order, mind you the place was empty (now I know why!). Plopped himself next to us, no introduction, no questions, just stone faced. We ordered, he didn't write a thing down, very confident. Placed a simple order. Food came, wrong order. He takes it from in front of me and leaves without a word. I wait and wait, eventually ask if my food is still coming, did he place the wrong order? "Yeah, your food is coming, yes wrong order". There was no "sorry if this isn't your order, there was a mixup" or something, ANYTHING. Food eventually comes, suddenly we have a different server, again no explanation. Food is mid at best. Dessert as an apology or something is out of the question, they've never heard of such a thing. Safe to say I regret wasting my money here, and it makes total sense why it's empty all the time. Don't bother, take your money somewhere else, there are so many great restaurants in Lower Village Montecito, this one is definitely a Must Miss!

We had the nachos (they were bomb and massive, highly recommend). We had done a bit of shopping and I hung my bag with a precious Hans Christian Anderson book of fairy tales I bought at the local bookstore over my chair. Well, to my dismay, I made it back home to Glendale and discovered I did not have my bag with me. I must add that at this point I was about 6 months pregnant and very emotional. I bought this book to read to my daughter after she's born, so it was just really hard for me. We called to ask about the book and spoke to Chuck, one of the managers, who told us they had it. I fully expected to call, learn they had it, and be told I could come pick it up or something, but no--he took it to UPS the next day they were open and shipped it to me. This level of customer service is so refreshing in a day when everyone seems to be in it for themselves. Chuck went above and beyond to ensure I received this book (didn't know I was pregnant, so that couldn't have swayed him). Aside from having great food, beers, and overall laid back vibes, they have unmatched customer service. Highly recommend.
