Tucked into Hotel Adeline, Straight Up is a nice little speak easy just northeast of Fashion Square in Scottsdale. You enter through the main entrance in the hotel and head to the right where you will have to figure out how to get into the phone booth (ask the front desk if you can't figure out) ;) Jee has made a wonderful menu with custom cocktails that she brings a wealth of experience from Melinda's Alley in downtown Phoenix and there is guaranteed to be something for everyone on her menu! I had a handful of cocktails on my first visit including the Ice Queen Version 2, Call me Clancy, Ready for my Closeup, and the Hemingway Special, all were fantastic and filled with flavor. Jee made sure we were well taken care of the whole night and has probably the best and most friendly personality out of any bartender I've come across, she'll recommend stuff too if you're not sure what to get. If you're a fan of the downtown PHX craft cocktail scene (Melinda's Alley, Bitter & Twisted, Little Rituals), you'll love this place in Scottsdale and it's old school classy vibe. I'll definitely be back!

Straight Up in the Hotel Adeline in Scottsdale is an adorable speakeasy with amazing cocktails! Come in through a door in the phone booth and see the eccentric decor and fully stocked bar. Jee makes the absolute best drinks and can tailor cocktails to whatever your preferences are. I got a Wham! Monkey and a customized cocktail with gin and aloe, both of which were absolutely delicious and packed a punch!

Really good drinks and fun entry! We got the Diana Vernon whiskey cocktail and my wife got the Sassy but Classy Tequila cocktail. Music and sound quality was perfect!!

Neat bar tucked away in hotel Adeline. G was a wonderful bartender, serving delicious espresso martinis. Unique spot to enjoy a drink!

It feels brand new and the staff is super kind and friendly. - Super cute venue and I love the decor and the AI generated duck photos on the walls, LOL! - Expected board games with the name, but was pleasantly surprised to find miniature versions of bowling, axe throwing and curling! - This spot is perfect for company get-together's, which is what I was there for, birthday parties or just a low-key hang out with friends. Highly recommend checking out House Rules, especially with our summers being so hot. This is a great indoor activity. My birthday is coming up in August and even thinking of throwing a small birthday thing here with friends/family!

Now I realize that the 2026 was a Summer Olympics and Curling is part of the Winter Olympics, but we didn't care Upon entry to go to the host stand and tell them what you're looking to do (activities vs bar/waiting). The space is relatively open and you can immediately see the fully stocked bar, the bowling area, the back axe throwing lanes, and the enclosed curling lanes. We opted for a package that got us unlimited games (any) for an hour. We started with curling and we didn't need any special clothes or shoes. We were lead to a lane and it's set up like shuffleboard (you can stand on either side and there's two separate color stones). There's ice where you glide your stones and you stand on rubber for traction. You can glide by hand or use a piece of equipment that is essentially a stick to help push and guide your stone. There's an attendant on duty to help any stones that are stuck or that don't make it down the lane The experience was awesome. We've always wanted to try curling, but it's difficult to find somewhere that is set up to let you do that. We were amazed that we finally tried it in a desert of all places. There are no brushes like in typical curling, but you still get a sense of the Olympic activity. The bowling was fun too, but it's a smaller version like you might see in some novelty bars. Axe throwing was that of typical ax throwing. You had a couple different sizes of axes, there's lanes and you throw at a wooden target. They had computers to input your name and keep track of points. It was sometimes difficult to stick the wooden target, but it was fun We didn't try the food or drink, but everything looked good. The staff were very helpful. It was a weekend, and it wasn't overly crowded which was nice. Overall it was a fun experience Some tips: If your stones seem to be getting stuck down the lane, ask the attendant to move you to another lane. That's what we did and it made all the difference Explore the rest of bustling Old Town Scottsdale. There's literally something for everyone, and definitely check out the Frybread Lounge for some great Native American fusion cuisine Chee

Love the special touches like the light at your table to call the martini cart bartender over to do table side personalized martinis. Our waitress was phenomenal and offered so many helpful menu tips as well. For the ambiance, think dark, moody, and sexy vibes. Even though the exterior and bathroom areas of the W Hotel are under construction, the ambiance within the restaurant is beautiful and unaffected. I also appreciated their waiting area with seating and TVs so we could catch the very end of the World Cup game! The food and drinks were amazing. I had a delicious mocktail with elderflower - dare I say one of the best I've ever had...I'd go back for just that! Everyone else at our table loved their martinis as well. Often when you dine at these new aesthetic spots in Phoenix/Scottsdale the food disappoints - but not here. Only dish we didn't love was the chicken piccata which was a bit plain. My vodka pasta and the braised beef pasta were delicious and flavorful. And let's not forget the dessert offerings: gelato, affogato, and tiramisu were all so good! I'll definitely return here it was top tier all around!

Before our table was ready, we sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks and the bar tenders were lively and super nice! Great service there. However the worst part of our experience was the hostess. She didn't smile at all throughout the whole time like she didn't want to be there at all. Honestly, probably need to get a new hostess cause everyone else was so nice and smiling and just a great vibe. Our server Kelly made up for how terrible the hostess was. Kelly walked through the menu with us and the favorite entrees as well as the martini cart which was such a fun experience. My husband got the veal cutlets and it was the best he's ever had. I had the branzino which was good but quite dry. I think if it had an actual light lemon type sauce it would make it easier to eat. We also got the Mac and cheese which almost didn't make it but our server made it happen! We got the chocolate torte to go and holy moly that was so good. Also, can't forget the calamari, it's a must have. That dip was divine! We also loved the antipasto that came while we were looking at the menu and it was such a great twist from the usual bread service cause it was light. All in all, we loved it and we will be back and we hope the hostess is a different person when we do come back!

We sat outside in the evening shade for a nice gathering. We shared the Cuban Caesar salad with romaine, manchego cheese, sliced pears, toasted pepitas, masa croutons, avocado, fried plantain chips and Aji amarillo Caesar. The salad was crisp, well dressed and delicious with the fried / curled plantain chips. The shrimp cerviche with fried plantains, blue corn tortilla chips, lime, cilantro and cucumber pico de gallo was ok but not remarkable. Our final selection was the Gaucho spiced skirt steak with chimichurri, and masa potato cakes. The steak was overcooked, not medium rare, bland taste and tough. The potato cake was tasteless. Overall, the ambience and service was good, however, the food lacks any hint of Cuban flare except for the fried plantains. When I think of Cuban food, I salivate for the unique taste profiles with a hint of sweetness from the fruits. At The canal Club, I found it non-existing. The name, setting, and environment is good but the kitchen needs to let in on the theme being Cuban.

I can honestly say, EVERYTHING, was fantastic! We decided to share all our dishes which was really the best way to experience this restaurant. We shared the Beef Kafta, the shakshuka and humus (pita comes with and is fresh and warm), fried feta with roasted tomatoes and honey, and the salmon and the beef carpaccio. Of course, never one to say no to dessert especially if everyone I'm with is willing to share, we decided to indulge in the chocolate layered cake and the baklava cheese cake. The service was fabulous! Cora was welcoming and kind (dad was not having the best day after chemo), Trevor was attentive and laughed at all of our silliness, and James the manager was lovely. Having great food is so important but when you come here, you get a full experience of service, food, ambiance full of wonderful energy , and good times with family.

They were able to accommodate us although the hostess was a little rude as we could've just went somewhere else if there was no room. All of us ordered the steak frites and a lot of ours had really big fat pieces so there actually wasn't much "meat." In comparison to the first time we went here, the steak the first time was much better. They also changed the chimichurri recipe which was needed and was really good this time. A few people got the dole whip boozy marg. They said it was a 3/5 as it was inconsistent drink to drink, ex: one got cherry, one didn't; one was more watery than another one. They said they wouldn't get it again. Overall it was a little disappointing compared to my first visit, especially with most of us only being able to eat half our steak. They also changed the plating to the wooden boards which were kind of warped so when we were cutting our steaks, it was shaking the table a lot.
