My husband loves their frozen mango margarita and I prefer the watermelon jalapeño. Also their nachos are a good, hearty portion. Apparently they have $11 margarita pitchers on week nights. Going into this place is a crap shoot - we never know what we're going to get. They seem to have a new person at the cash register every day. One night they ran out of queso & salsa (¿que?); another night their frozen margaritas were runny. Sometimes the chips are fresh; other times, they have the appeal of a burnt shingle. The tacos are pretty decent -- except for the black bean tacos, which smell like an Arkansas outhouse. "Loco hour" is great, though recently they stopped serving beer in frosted glasses. First world problem, I know, but doggone I loved my beer in an icy-cold glass instead of a plastic cup. So, yeah, we'll keep going back because it's close to our house, but the service and food quality can be as consistent as Kanye West's moods. read more

We live 1.5miles from here and haven't stopped to eat here in the 18 months or more that they have been open. We should have kept driving by tonight as well. 2 cars in the otherwise empty lot was a red flag. Literally every item we order was off. RUN! We ordered a taco with regular meat and two shrimp tacos. If you don't mind eating taco meat that looks like it has sat for the past day or so or shrimp tacos with beans that were too hard to eat. It was disgusting. We thought we would try this restaurant hoping we would find a new spot but sadly disappointed. Since I did ask for a refund and got one. We didn't ask for a refund on the shrimp because by that time we just wanted to leave. The manager did offer to make me something else but since we did try several things and they were disgusting then to add to this they offered us two free taco coupons. By that point wouldn't you figure out that these customers were never coming back. As we were leaving I hear the manager tell one of the workers to chuck the meat. Food portions are small and taste bland. The meat is tough and has no flavor. This meal is not worth half of what I paid.

Pretty standard. I had 2 breakfast tacos one with Chorizo, Egg, Cheese, and Potato and then the same setup but with Brisket instead of Chorizo. Both were okay rather on the small portion size with normal flavor. I also got a spiced Pulled Pork taco which didn't indicate anything other than coarse pepper but started a 3 alarm fire in my mouth and tasted like it had been soaked in something much much hotter than ground pepper. Basic interior with beers available and convenient location means I might go back but it doesn't compare to somewhere like Torchy's. read more

We have been to R taco before and really enjoyed it. However today wasn't the same experience. I walked in and placed an order to go ( after calling and being left on hold for too long.) the gentlemen took my order and was nice, there was not many people at this time it was mid afternoon. I sat and waited for 3 tacos for 20 mins !!!! I finally realized everyone was being served except me so I went up to the counter where the cooks were goofing off and it appeared they NEVER EVEN made my order ! So the cook says "oh it's coming up right now and slaps my tacos together". I don't understand how you just don't make an order while I'm sitting there waiting for it and you continue to let me wait. Then when it was ready the guy just tossed it up on the counter, I guess handing it to me was simply too much work. It gets worse- I get home (5mins later) to eat my tacos and the potatoes were old, dry and cold. The chicken was so not fresh it was altogether a terrible meal! R Taco can do a good job and just simply didn't. Not even busy in the restaurant and they completely screwed up everything, this shouldn't be happening. My husband ordered just meat and cheese on his taco, it still came with everything, even after the guy repeated the order back, he never put the changes on the receipt for the cook. The worst one I tried was the Baja Shrimp Taco the shrimp was cooked well but the sauce it was drenched in was truly awful. So I gave the Shredded pork taco a try and that was pretty bad too. They put pickled onions on this one. If you were to say to me, "Hey, let's pickle some onions and put them on a taco." I was so excited to see they finally opened an R Taco over here!! I worked in Dallas and they had one right close to my job. Always loved the food. This place didn't disappoint!! The food was all cooked fresh and so it was hot and delicious!!!! The margaritas are strong for being half price. The queso is tasty and so is the salsa. Has just enough kick but not overly spicy. (I'm a pansy with spicy stuff btw.) My boyfriend had the grilled shrimp and grilled fish tacos. The shrimp was very well seasoned and so was the fish, but the fish was slightly overdone. The black beans were the best I've ever had and same with the elotes. I had the crispy chicken and the rusty taco. Both super delicious!! We will definitely be back. I really wanted to like this place. During my visit I ordered a tres grande. The queso had dark orangish brown chunks in it and a slimy film on and throughout it, the guacamole was brown and tasted pretty bad, the salsa was okay. I brought it to the managers attention and he was rude, arrogant, and condescending during our conversation insinuating that i was just being picky. I couldn't get a refund for the inedible food i had paid for. I will not be back. I will take my business to Torchy's or Fuzzy's where they know what customer service is and have decent food. read more
