One restaurant was open fantastic prior to Rusty's Place with Luchini in Italian immigrant opened it. This is where you would go and talk politics. Now it's a nice neighborhood breakfast lunch house. They do a really nice job. The service is good food is really nice. And they're really good to the neighbors. This is not your regular corporate place. If somebody who's there in a regular basis doesn't show up they will call and ask them to a welfare check on the person to make sure they're OK this is a real community restaurant. I have gone here a couple times in the past with different people decided to go with my best friend and his daughter and it was wrong from the beginning we got put in a booth that was closest to the kitchen the booth was wet did not give us anything to wipe the booth off with we sat down the woman that settles down was rude I was feeling as though something was truly wrong my best friend is dark skinned as well as his daughter there was one waitress that noticed there was something wrong with us she offered us another table but we still sat at the table there was no gloves being worn during the transportation of our muffins to the grill from the waitress that was waiting on us another waitress was very rude and disrespectful we had a very poor service food was not out of the normal I do not believe I will be going back here again I feel we were racially profiled and it is the most uncomfortable feeling ever somethings should be done read more

Staff was courteous. Was there around 8AM restaurant was a little cold, kept my jacket on. Waitress took our order quickly and food arrived quickly. Problem was with the food quality. Very happy with Rusty's place - good service, a diner like breakfast menu with some nice local options as well (Polish, Irish in nature). Disrespectful, unkind, and spiteful are the words that come to mind when I think of my recent experience at Susan's Café on Sunday, January 3. 2016. I am extremely angry at the way I was treated on my visit. I called 10 minutes before I arrived to request a "TO-GO" order. I was immediately told there were no to go orders being taken because there was an hour and a half before close and that it was quite busy in the café. This surprised me because as a pretty regular customer who ALWAYS gets to go orders, I had never heard this before. So, I went to Susan's to place my order and asked for it to-go. Not only did the wait staff give me the complete cold shoulder, but the kitchen staff, especially the female cook went off spewing negativity against me and the fact that she said no to go orders! While I sat waiting for my food at the counter, I could hear the hateful remarks that were geared my way. This made me very uncomfortable and caused the staff to not look at me, treat me with no respect, and assume I was somehow the enemy! I also heard her say while haphazardly packing my food, "No more to go orders. You be firm. That's what I said and that's what I want." Whatever happened to the old saying the customer is always right? As I have been to Susan's many times, I have always found them pleasant, kind, and ready to help. Today's experience was humiliating and awful. I spent $30 on a ton of food and was treated like I was the plague. There is a lot I could say here, but the main thing is who turns away business because they are too busy? I called to place an order and would have waited until it was done to pick it up based on the time they could have given me. Sitting there while my food was being prepared and hearing the nasty comments meant for me was hurtful. I actually cried when I got home because I felt like I had done something wrong. As I looked around the busy café, I couldn't help but wonder why someone wouldn't have joy when their entire establishment was filled and they were obviously doing well. In an order to make some sort of statement, I left the waitress $10. It was my hope she would speak up or see me as human and not like the enemy. I am hurt. I am unhappy. I am disgusted with what happened. I will NEVER go back to Susan's unless they issue me a heartfelt apology! I deserve one because I did nothing wrong. Customer service is a big deal. While I understand she didn't want to do phone orders, I went in and ordered like the rest of the customers there. The only difference is I wanted mine in a box to go. This is not earth shattering stuff, people. Treat people the way you want them to treat you. It really does matter! read more

It was good, not great ..... perhaps because I was expecting more Eastern European (Polish?) selectioins as other Yelper's commented on the Pierogi's, Kielbasa etc. but alas the selection was minimal and we were disappointed with that selection. of the menu. Breakfast was very good but nothing special, the value is what makes me give them 3 stars instead of 2. Extra points for very friendly staff and unlike what other Yelper's posted the other patrons were not grey haired and catatonic looking, in fact they were mostly mid 20's-30's. Left this place feeling stuffed because we wanted to eat ALL THE THINGS! Everything we had was great - Irish eggs benedict, the breakfast combo with pierogi, egg, kielbasa and a pretzel roll and added on last minute, a chocolate chip pancake. I'm super particular about pancakes, but we were seated right by the grill and couldn't leave without trying one. They're HUGE - larger than the plate - fluffy and tasty. A little dry but they compensated with extra Cabot butter pats for me to doctor it up. Coffee was fresh, not at all bitter and plentiful. Prices were very reasonable, portions were generous. Our service was the best part, though. Our waitress was helpful, responsive and friendly and the cook staff even joked with us over the counter a bit. Everyone was genuinely interested to know if we were happy and we were asked to return in what also felt like a genuine, not pushy way. They also have a little coffee shop connected, which is a different business but you can cut through one of the doors to get a good latte to go with your breakfast. The restaurant is very clean, the staff is very friendly and the owner is very hands on and hardworking. This is my favorite place in the are to get brunch. The menu is delightfully diverse, with traditional brunch fair and mix ups on favorites. It is usually not crazy busy, but it can get crowded during peak brunch times, like 10:00 on sunday mornings. The prices are incomparable for the quality of the food, meaning the prices are low and food is amazing. The service is decent, not outstanding; the waitresses usually are kind and helpful, but sometimes you'll have to try for a few minutes to get their attention for a refill or to place an order.
