It's been a long time since eating at Ruth's Chrid since I've stopped eating red meat. We went for our anniversary dinner and really wanted the seafood tower! Let me start by saying the staff at this location are absolutely stellar!! Everyone had great personalities and were very accommodating. The small seafood tower was amazing! It filled my husband and I up so we finished our dinner up with salads. I usually never finish my salad but this one was spectacular. I ordered the Harvest salad and I believe it was supposed to come with dried cherries. To my pleasant surprise, the cherries were replaced with delicious bacon! Not complaining at all! Finally went here for Thanksgiving as they have a $39.95 Turkey dinner which sounded great considering we didn't want to cook and had no other options. After a very lovely soup and salad, they served the turkey and dressing with cranberries. We had sides of creamed spinach and sweet potato casserole. Then we had small pumpkin cheesecakes and ice creams. Lovely . And the best part was that they gave us turkey, dressing and cranberries to take home as doggie bags. I will say that since it was Thanksgiving day, the food could have come quicker since it was not like a steak and had to be cooked after we ordered. We ended up walking to the place, but the area is beautiful with all the lights and petite/cutest fountains. You will not regret walking, but you will regret driving. We go out to eat really regularly. I remember when I was a kid it was Wyatt's and Luby's and if we went any where else, that was considered fancy. Best bet make reservations online to reserve a time and mark your special occasion. They will greet you by name and decorate your table. We started with shrimp cocktail. OMG huge yummy and fresh. We then spilt the harvest salad which they will do for you table side. We shared the 24oz T-bone Steak. They serve you on plates that are a sizzling 500 degrees. So the steak stays a great temperature throughout every bite of yum. Really it was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. We got 3 sides Roasted Corn it was delish Sweet Potato Casserole- not my favorite should have gotten Mac Lobster and Cheese. Then Layonaisee Potatoes also really delish. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant, and modern. You have two servers attending to your every whim you never have to ask for refills, and tending to table needs of removing plates. My family and I went here for dinner Christmas Eve, and we had a wonderful experience. Our server Dana was very attentive, and our food was incredible. We ordered drinks which were excellent then next ordered the seafood tower, crab cakes and a few single serve salads. The spinach arugula salad was delicious! The best sides hands down were the mashed sweet potatoes with candied pecans, and Brussels sprouts with bacon. If you're a lobster fan, you'll love the Mac & cheese! Went for the Valentines Day special. Our waitress didn't even know about it. When our food arrived my fillet was over cooked (ordered medium was served medium well) and my lobster tail under cooked. My boyfriends ribeye & lobster tails were cooked correctly. Our waitress also didn't check in on our table as often as she did with the tables around us. It made me feel like because we ordered a special she didn't think we worth waiting on because her tip wouldn't be good; not the case. Special occasion destination only because it's expensive but rightly so. The cocktails tasted great! We had the calamari, sweet and spicy sauce on top. I loved it but my husband doesn't like sweet. The steaks where done perfectly. We added the shrimp and it was good. Cream spinach and Parmesan mashed potatoes where so good! Dessert was a walnut cheesecake as part of the three course meal. I usually stay away from big food chains like this and stick to local, but when I saw the Marchesi Antinori Wine Dinner announcement it caught my attention. Considering the price was $115 per person I figured it was a good deal since I saw people were paying over $300 to eat there. It was a five course dinner that came paired with wine. I was surprised with their stellar service when I arrived, we were greeted by the valet and he was extremely friendly. The hostesses approached us to open our door and they were very friendly, and seated us promptly. I was surprised when they led us to the event seating, it was in a small intimate setting in one of their many party rooms. There was only four tables and one of them was for the wine guy. Apparently not a lot of people had participated in the event. Everything was set up exceptionally well and our server Joan was nothing short of professional and attentive, but friendly as well! One look at the menu and I was intensely intrigued. Make no mistake this was a five star menu and let me tell you it was all delicious. Along with each plate came a generous glass of wine. The plates were beautifully plated and the presentation was extremely well put together. The first plate was Carpaccio with some sprouts. The carpaccio was thinly sliced as it should be and it had a great taste. The dressing on the sprouts was a light vinaigrette and was perfect because it didn't over power the carpaccio. The plate was paired with a Rose which was light, slightly fruity and sweet, but refreshing nonetheless. The second plate was a heirloom tomato salad which blew my mind it had a block of mozzarella in the middle topped with pesto vinaigrette. And it was paired with a white blend which was kind of like a Pinot Grigio. I started getting tipsy at this point lol. The third plate was a grilled halibut. OMG why have I never tried this fish it was delicious, meaty and flaky, it was perfection on a plate. This was paired with a red blend of Cab and Pinot Noir. The main course consisted of a medallion steak paired with asparagus and risotto and by that time I was past the tipsy point and have no freakin idea what wine it was paired with other than it was $100 bottle of red wine. Lol but the steak was honestly perfectly cooked and prepared at the perfect temperature as well. I loved the hot plate, but when you aren't coordinating very well it's the last thing you need. If your wondering, yes I did burn my finger a little and that was after Joan told me to be careful. But hey I'm the girl that burns her ear with the curling iron twice in the same place! Dessert yes people dessert, was panna cotta with caramelizad bananas. Yes it was good and yes I broke my diet but I was too drunk to care at that point. The dessert was paired with a nice golden glass of I have no idea but I drank it anyway. The wine guy Chris gave us a nice presentation along with videos of where the brand is made and how. He was very knowledgeable and really went out of his way to mingle with us. The event coordinator Ileana and the manager walked around and mingled with us as well. I really enjoyed this event and I highly recommend it to anyone. The price was just right considering the very generous portions of not only food but wine. Okay, everyone, I'm sorry to have to give this review because I had such high expectations of this restaurant and instead left a bad taste in my mouth and a huuuuuuge dent in my wallet. I've heard so much about this chain in other cities, so many great things. first and for most, the customer experience is said to be spectacular, the food a soiree for your senses and fantastic for family dinner. Well! Someone done lied to me!!! The service was awful and I mean, stick a fork in my eye awful. The name of our serve was Alejandro, I though because we had the same neame that he would hold the same customer service expectations as I did. NOT THE CASE. We saw him three times, and only two of those times he actually at our table. We had to wave down another server and she was annoyed that we called her over. She gave us so much attitude about the one request that we had expressed, she sassed us by asking, IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE??? (rolling her eyes and exhailing like she was baout to have an asthma attack). There was something else but she didnt wait for use to speak before she pivoted her unhappy little being away from out table. So when she returned we very politely explained that there were two other issues. The issue was that three of the people out table received their steaks (from what we discussed with the table next to us they steaks were an issue that evening) very rare, I mean you can see the heart beating and sending blood through the meat still! I love me a rare steak, but when I bite into it and I look like a vampire that had just fed, I think I would have to draw the line. All we wanted that they fire them back up and bring them back to our table. Is that too much to ask? I could have told them that I wanted a whole other steak done correctly if I wanted to, but I didn't. Well we got them back alright, one was over done, another charred and the third was acceptable. We waited for a manager or someone to come by and NOBODY WALKED BY. I got up, went to the waitress in another section and requested to speak to the manager. We waited 30 minutes and no one showed up. What did show up after his disappearing act was Alejandro. To give us our ticket. The nerve and brass pair that he had to deliever that check to a very upset table was admirable, but not for the "Ruth Chris" expectations that I had. I would expect that from Chico's Tacos or Papa Burgers. Are you ready for the grand finale!? The check was exorbidant, I would have had no problem with the check if the service was impecable and my dinning experiance was memorable. Well, correction, it was memorable, so memorable that six people will never eat there again. DON'T SUPPORT THIS PLACE. DONT EAT HERE. LET THEM KNOW THAT OUR MONEY PAYS FOR THEIR PEOPLE TO WORK THERE, AND IF THEY CANT GET GOOD PEOPLE THEN THEY WILL NOT GET OUR MONEY. My husband and I were dying to eat here after hearing all the hype of how great the steaks were. I have never been so disappointed in steak. I have very high expectations, my dad raises angus beef in Iowa. I know what very good steaks should taste like....they're not found here. And I've never paid that much for a good filet ...only to get it served in butter, I mean good steak doesn't need anything on it and it will melt in your mouth.....I will never order steak here again. I'm a spoiled farm girl...probably sound snobbish but trust me, once you have had the best, you won't look at this place the same way. Loved the entire experience, from beginning to end. We made a reservation prior as soon as we walked in they asked for our name and sat us quickly. We had told them we were celebrating an anniversary and the table was covered in rose petals. The waiter ask if we had ever been and we hadn't so he told us all about the menu and about Ruth Chris. My boyfriend ordered the New York strip, and I ordered the petite ribeye. Came perfectly cooked to the temperature we both wanted. We ordered a side, the lobster Mac and cheese. It was SO delicious it was seriously amazing. We also got a bottle of wine and loved it! It was time for desert and I didn't really want any but we got the banana bread pudding which was recommended by the waiter since it was a popular dish. It was delicious but the best part was that the waiter worked with my boyfriend to write on the plate "will you marry me" and the wait staff recorded it and delivered it just like my boyfriend want. I've never been to Ruth's Chris Steak House before. My date took me and WOW. I never knew steak could taste this good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very elegant and fancy. The restaurant used dim lighting and is perfect for date night. We started the night off with crab cakes and it was an amazing decision. The crab tasted so fresh and light which was a perfect way to start off our meal. We then did the Porterhouse for Two. The steaks were served already sliced and we were given plates with sizzling hot butter where we would put our slices of steak on. That was a new experience for me and it was delicous. The cooks on the steak were perfect to order. If you are a big steak lover and feel like you deserve something nice, this place is perfect for that. I normally love Ruth Chris in other locales but my experience here was awful. They gave me the wrong steak (my cousin's steak) and when I flagged this error they tried to serve me the steak my cousin had already started eating! That's unacceptable even at a Denny's. I politely asked for my $50 steak to be one that someone hadn't already started eating, cooked medium. 15 minutes later, the steak came back rare. I asked for it to be cooked to medium, and the third try they brought back the steak well done. By the time I had started eating my well done, tough steak everybody in my family had been long finished. Terrible! What do they do to remedy this error? Nothing. Normally after huge screw ups at a classy place like a Ruth Chris they will give a free desert or something. Here: nothing. Full $50 for steak they got wrong three times! What a joke. Please note for the record that I am a huge fan of the Ruth's Chris chain. I like them because, while traveling, I enjoy knowing a place where I can get consistently good food and service. I like trying new, local places when I travel, but sometimes, you want a little familiarity. That's what made my visit to the El Paso Ruth's Chris so disappointing. I really don't know where to start. The service was friendly, but very slow. I was never offered water or bread. I asked for water and it took a while, but I finally got it. My caprese style salad was pretty good, except that I asked them to hold the balsamic, and I got balsamic anyway. My fries were cold. What disappointed the most was the steak. I ordered a filet, black and blue. It was cooked correctly, but it was cold when I got it (throughout, not just in the center, and the sizzling plate wasn't sizzling). The quality of the beef was not nearly up to the standards I am used to at a Ruth's Chris...in fact, it was about the quality you'd get at a Saltgrass Steakhouse (seriously...I'm not kidding here). Not only was the food entirely overpriced for what you received, the attitude of many of the employees put us in a bad mood from the moment we were seated. Really poor example to set. At the end of eating, my plate was left with a big mound of fatty remnants which any good steakhouse would not have served in the first place. Let's see, there were also kids in the bar (great, just what an ADULT restaurant needs) and the televisions and loud noise spilling over into our dining did not fit with the 'elegant' atmosphere which we had been told awaited us at this supposedly 'fine-dining' restaurant. I won't even go into how the staff handled our visit, because it was unfortunate. A huge celebration turned into a complete nightmare. The only reason we did not leave was that the guest of honor had made the plans herself, with great anticipation, and we did not want to disappoint her by leaving the restaurant. In hindsight, we should have left the minute their servers began to treat us un-cordially and with their extremely poor attitude. I was once told by a good friend that at a GOOD restaurant, you should be able to ask for just about anything without anyone blinking an eye. Not so in this case. All we asked for was to be welcomed in order to celebrate a quiet special occasion with family, and be treated nicely. This place made you wonder if they were even bothering to care what they could do for you, but rather, that you should feel somehow 'lucky' and oh-so-fortunate to be in their overpriced, underwhelming restaurant. The Ruth's Chris in El Paso has been setting sales records for new stores and exceeding management projections according to local media (El Paso, Inc). Typical for El Paso, retailers and restaurants open very strong--particularly concepts new to the area. Until Ruth's Chris, El Paso lacked a steak house that my any objective measure, provided service, atmosphere, and food quality on par with any of the quality national chains. As I believe Ruth's Chris will discover after the holiday season, they will have to differentiate themselves more consistently from the local brands to avoid what has come to be known as the El Paso Cliff--the steep sales nose dive that takes place immediately after the brief honeymoon is over. As is the case in point with the El Paso Ruth's Cliff (no pun intended) success breeds arrogance and complacency. When curiosity and novelty fade, and the next steak chain steaks its claim (pun is intended) to the El Paso market, management will scratch their heads and wonder where it all went wrong. That's when I hope someone on the Ruth's Chris' braintrust reads (or re-reads) this review, which officially begins now: Yesterday, I found myself without a dinner reservation for a 65th birthday party celebration (party of four). At 10:00 am, in a panic, I discovered no reservations available at any of our favorite restaurants on this busy Saturday, popular for Christmas parties. I left voice mail messages with three of them. I left the same simple message with all of them. The two that gave me the courtesy of a returned call, were both sympathetic and found a way to accommodate my party that made me feel like my business was important to them. The third, which did not return my call, spoke loudly about the arrogance and indifference to which I referred earlier. Bon A petit Updated: made another reservation for party of four last week on Christmas Eve. We had an overall very nice experience, continuing with our server. The restaurant was crowded but not full. The kitchen seemed on top of its game with comfortable, but not overly rushed timing of courses. Ruth's Chris is a Resturaunt I started going to in 2007. Since then I've been to most of the ones in the United States. Every time I go there I get the veal ausso bucco for an appetizer and the filet with asparagus. This is one of the best steak house Resturaunt's around. Ruth's Chris is a very welcome addition to El Paso and is really the first chained fine dining establishment our city has gotten. I've been to Ruth's Chris a few times in other cities and the El Paso branch is just as solid. The waitstaff do a very good job and are very attentive. The steaks are quality although cut matters. In the two times I've been to this location, I've had a bone in fillet that was mediocre and not even close to worthy of its price tag, and I split a 40oz Tomahawk ribeye with my wife, which was one of the most flavorful steaks I've ever eaten. The sides and desserts are also solid and nice additions to the meal (like most fine steak houses, sides are ala carte). The pecan crusted sweet potato side dish is probably worth taking a trip for on its own. A heads up however, this place is not cheap. It's easily the most expensive place to eat in El Paso, where a steak with sides and a drinks are going to run you over $100 a person without breaking a sweat. I also think it's ridiculous they charge $5 for valet parking in a location that is an enormous parking lot. I gladly will pay it when I'm in downtown Fort Worth or D.C., but to pay $5 when I can park right in front of the location is silly. It's honestly only there for people trying to show off, because it's really impractical. It's way faster to park and walk in than to do valet and it's one of the silliest things I've seen in El Paso. read more

Ruth's Chris is one of my favorite steak restaurant chains. I think the waitress was new, because I could not get a refill on the iced tea until I presented my CC card to pay. She was nice, but wasn't attentive. While the steak came a perfect medium, I had specifically asked for it to be blackened and was told that they only use salt and pepper. I may be wrong, but I remember Ruth's Chris offering a Cajun seasoned steak in the past. Oh well, the steak came out with not as much flavor as I'm used to with this chain. read more

I've been to many Ruth's Chris in Louisiana, Florida and other locations across Texas. Needless to say I was very excited for one to arrive to El Paso. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality and overall experience compared to other locations. I came here shortly after it opened and my son ordered a cheeseburger... they got the order wrong and added blue cheese to the cheeseburger. My 13 year old son didn't like it and I was mad - told him we're in a fancy place and he should eat it. However when I saw it was blue cheese I realized why he didn't like it so I sent it back (which I never do) then my husband who'd never been to one wasn't warmed to NOT TOUCH the hot plate so he burned his hand. The manager came out to offer an ointment ugh. So we paid a lot of money for a bad experience. read more
