I attended my birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris. We made a reservation online which was pretty simple. When we arrived we were able to get a nice table in a more private room. The restaurant was festive with nice Christmas decor and a dimly lit ambiance!! The room we were in only had 4 tables, so we appreciated the privacy. Our main waiters were Tony, Andy, and Jonathan (his name wasn't what was on his name tag, I forgot his correct name). Tony started off telling us his recommendations and we ordered a bottle and some glasses of wine. There was a $138 special for the bottle. I don't drink but I did sip the Shea Pinot Noir, it was a very dry wine. It probably would have been better paired with something. My daughter's boyfriend really enjoyed it though, with his steak. The Rosa Regale wine was very smooth and sweet. It was actually good. If I drank I'd prefer this. We started off with bread and butter, and calamari. The calamari was really good. I enjoyed it. I'd definitely ask for it to be fried hard next time. But it was seasoned well and the lemon made it even better. We ordered the stuffed chicken Oscar style, pork chop, tomahawk steak, steak and shrimp, au gratin potatoes, mashed potatoes, asparagus, brussel sprouts, and etc. The stuffed chicken was good, it went well with the au gratin potatoes. It was topped with a small crab cake and bernaise sauce, which wasn't bad. It just wasn't my favorite. I wish the chicken had a cranberry sauce or something to go with it. That would have really elevated it for me. The brussel sprouts were tasty also, they had bacon in them. The pork chop came with apples on top , which were pretty tasty as well. The tomahawk steak was $175, it was the most expensive steak I've ever had. But you could definitely tell it was better quality. It was tender and it paired well with the side of mushrooms. My daughters stuffed shrimp were appetizing. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We had plenty of leftovers afterwards. The sides are shareable, so maybe discussing it prior to ordering would make more sense to cut down on the cost. We didn't do that. Lol. Afterwards Tony put some confetti on the table for my birthday, which I think was a nice touch. We ordered chocolate ganache cakes, cheesecake, raspberry sorbet, and coffee for dessert. The presentation was very nice. The cakes were a big portion, so I'd definitely recommend sharing the desserts. They're a good size. My daughter enjoyed the sorbet. It was tangy and fruity! The raspberry sauce for the cheesecake is normally really good, but it was slightly sour on this day for some reason. Our server Tony was very attentive. Him, Andy and the other servers kept our drinks full. Tony was very nice and funny the whole night. I really enjoyed all of them. Afterwards when our food was boxed up, there were a few mix ups. Once Brian the GM found out some of us had each others food when we got home, he was very accommodating and fixed the issue with no problems. They remade the mixed up items and allowed me to pick them up on a different day of my choice. Which I appreciated. Brian was very professional and friendly!! There were several people boxing the food up, so I understand how the mixup happened. We were happy with the resolution. All in all it was a nice dinner and a real vibe. Although everyone was nice Tony really was great!! I'd definitely recommend them for a celebratory dinner. The food is a bit pricey, but we enjoyed ourselves. Our final bill with tip was $1075. The service we received kept me from crying about the cost. Lol. Check them out!!

Food was delicious 10/10! Everything tastes amazing and was served so beautifully! The service was also great very courteous friendly and it was quick at the beginning. For our dessert sadly it looks like they took it to the wrong table and we ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes for the dessert but the wait was worth it because that classic cheesecake was to die for! The restaurant was also very elegant and perfectly lit for a romantic dinner!

Ruth's Chris Steak House is located in the Town Center area of Virginia Beach. There is limited street parking, but there are parking garages here and the Green Parking Garage is the closest one to the business. My visit here was on October 31, 2025. I've been to Town Center numerous times, but have never been to Ruth's Chris. My mom and I both came here on this visit based on an ad for hearing about a program available, so the cost was covered by the company sponsoring this event. This review is centered on the aspects of the visit regarding the staff, food and so forth. The entrance to the restaurant is on the second floor. There is an escalator that you can use to get up there. There is also an elevator to get up there as well. This restaurant is more upscale, so business casual to elegant attire is required, which is noted next to the entrance doors. When we came in, we looked around a bit as we weren't sure where to go. A few moments later, someone came by and they helped us get to the room we wanted to get to. At the tables, there was a set menu of items you could choose from. The first course was the Steak House Salad. For the entree, you had three options to choose from. The sides were Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Fresh Broccoli. The dessert would be the Classic Cheesecake. The first part was to get an overview of the presentation that day. After 15 minutes or so, servers came around asking what our choice would be for the main course. I chose the Garlic-Herb Cheese Stuffed Chicken and my mom chose the Classic Petite Filet. They brought out their bread to the tables. Around 11:30 am, the Steak House Salads came out to the tables. It looked really good, and when I had it, it was great, even though I don't normally do salad dressings. Shortly after finishing the salad, the sides came out to the tables, followed by the main course chosen. The Garlic-Herb Cheese Stuffed Chicken was amazing. There was plenty of flavor to it and really hit the spot. My mom noted the same thing with her Classic Petite Filet. After having those parts of the lunch, the next hour or so was the presentation that brought us here in the first place. Once that part was completed, the final course came around, which was the Classic Cheesecake. The cheesecake was really good, and is something I don't normally have. Overall, Ruth's Chris Steak House was really good. I know it would be pretty pricey on a regular basis, which is why I hadn't been here before until this. I may consider coming here for a personal special event reason in the future though. The food and service were awesome. If you are looking for a more upscale place to have a meal, this place is worth checking out.

My wife and I went here for a happy hour and had a great experience. Caleb is a great server who made sure that my water was regularly filled and that my order was done correctly, to the T! I ordered the burger and fries cooked medium-rare with half the slice of Swiss cheese on the burger and the other half on the side which I then boxed to-go. I really appreciated my server and cook's attentiveness to my order as I'm trying to be mindful of my salt and saturated fat intake. As a dietitian I frequently encourage my patients to advocate for themselves when eating out and ask for Heart Healthy requests (i.e cheese and dressings in the side, no salt on fries, etc.). Caleb made it easy to ask for what I needed. Also, the burger was cooked to order tasted excellent! My half slice of Swiss cheese melted great and was plenty to cover my burger. I'll definitely be back!

Drove 1 1/2 hours to eat here with a party of six and was turned away. Went to Ruth's Chris instead and were welcomed with open arms. Andrea was an amazing server and made our experience great. Unfortunately, this changed my opinion of this restaurant.

We had a quiet dinner tonight at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in the Town Center of Virginia Beach. We arrived at 5pm and we were fortunate enough to grab a couple of seats at the bar. Brendan the bartender was very pleasant and helpful with menu questions and suggestions. We started out with Seared Ahi Tuna on the Happy Hour Menu for $15. This was a generous portion and it was beautifully plated, and lightly seared, just the way I like it. My Wife had the Spicy Shrimp, also on the Happy Hour Menu for $16. They were incredibly delicious, served piping hot and she enjoyed them very much. For Dinner, she had the Chilean Sea Bass served with spinach. It was beautifully plated with so good! The crust on top was a nice touch where they use a Parmesan blended with some spices to make this incredible flavor. I had a 6oz Filet Mignon served with 3 grilled shrimp. I enjoyed it very much as well. You know what you are getting when you visit Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, quality steaks, seafood and more coupled with outstanding service.

My first time going to a Ruth's Chris Steak House. We received excellent service while we were there. They were very attentive but not overbearing. We got the petite 8 ounce steak and also the chef special 16 ounce ribeye with the crab on top and mushrooms, mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole for the side. If you like sweet, the sweet potato casserole is amazing, and if you don't mind, mushrooms, the roasted mushrooms are so damn good! The mashed potatoes are just okay. The wine was great though. One of my coworkers mentioned that they received very poor service while it was really busy so your mileage may vary. Because we got there early in the evening, they open at 4 PM, we had a 4:45 reservation and it was only about a quarter full. But the food was amazing. The service was really good while we were there. Ambience was nice but in my opinion everything was a little bit overpriced. We paid roughly $300 for the bill. I think if you're willing to spend that kind of money then this is a great place to go for the food and experience but if you just want some good steaks, there are many other cheaper options that can deliver as well.

Finally made it to Ruth Chris. It was cool to see what it was all about, but not our cup of tea. Was it nice inside with tasty food...yes! Was it worth the money? I don't feel it was, especially if you have decent cooking skills of your own. I am not trying to knock it, but I would (and did just a week prior) prefer to buy a good-quality steak or salmon and make it myself. We just felt it wasn't anything special for what you were paying for. Now I will say, the sides are what stole the show for us. They were delicious and a good portion of it. This restaurant seems to be great for a business write-off or to have that "dining experience." However, a one-and-done is probably what this would be for us. It was nice to have the experience and say we've been to "Ruth Chris" though.

First time at this location I've been to other locations. They are definitely a chain restaurant and the standards are across-the-board are the same. Went for a mid week lunch there was some sort of special that they were offering so I decided to give this location a try. The restaurant was not too busy. They were plenty of servers for the amount of people that were in the restaurant. The server was very attentive. He came right over and shared with us the specials, and even explain to us the different dishes that they offer. I of course had to order the filet mignon because of course it is Ruth Chris you know you have to get a fillet. The steak was cooked to perfection. It was very flavorful. The fries were nice and crispy. They also had good flavor. The salad was a side salad a Caesar salad. It was your typical salad nothing fancy. All in all the meal was great and I'm sure I will be back again.

Ruth Chris knows steak , they are still the best when it comes to steak , they are cooked perfectly the way you like it,and well seasoned that you don't need no other sauce . Been going to this Ruth Chris on a special occasion and never been disappointed, service is always pleasant . I just wish they offer more selection for side dishes , but other than that I love the way they do their steak. We tried going to this other steak place in Va. beach called "......ers and ...s and we still think Ruth Chris is the "steak King" pricey ??yes ! its worth for the perfect good steak, ambiance ,and service .

Both the host and our server were very friendly. The restaurant itself is nice - it has a dark, masculine decor vibe. While I loved the types of chairs they use, I will say their tables for two are very small. They had this little side table type of thing and that was where I had to put my purse and some of the extra dishes to have room. We had the Wyagu Ribeye and the Picahna steak. Both were very good and cooked to perfection. I had the risotto which I didn't feel was cooked right; it had a gummy texture. The Cesar salad was one of the best I've had. I am not sure if their dressing is house made but it was very good and the addition of prosciutto was a nice touch! I also had a Paloma that was very fresh! Now this is supposed to be a steak house and cantina. The decor did give traditional cantina vibes, but the menu did not offer many traditional cantina type foods. If you are looking for cantina style dishes, you may find yourself disappointed. We did do the guacamole though, and it was just OK I'd say. Would I come back? For the steak and salad yes. Otherwise it was a little underwhelming to the price!

Not being able to eat at those other restaurants was the BEST thing that could have happened to us that day! The ambiance and the gentle vibe you get when you walk in this place is palpable. And the food lives up to the ambiance too. My party haslamb chops, cowboy steak, asparagus and a myriad of sides that came with these meals. I heard lots of "oohs" and "this is delicious" from my family. Unfortunately, I am a vegan and the choices were virtually nonexistent for me--but in Gaston's defense, they are an Italian steakhouse (they never said they catered to vegans). We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Before ordering, I actually spoke with the owner, Gaston, because I wanted his recommendation for the best steak on the menu. He confidently recommended the Cowboy Ribeye, assuring me that it was one of their signature steaks. I ordered it medium rare with a little char, exactly the way I enjoy it. I also asked if I could substitute the mashed potatoes and broccoli for another side since I don't eat either of those. I was told substitutions were not allowed. For a $60 steak, I found that disappointing. I wasn't asking for anything extravagant--just a different vegetable or a simple side salad. When my steak arrived, it was much smaller than I expected for the price and didn't resemble the Cowboy Ribeye I was anticipating. It was cooked slightly over medium rare, and while it wasn't terrible, the flavor was only average and had a slightly off taste, almost as if the broiler hadn't been cleaned recently. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and broccoli I had specifically asked to leave off the plate were served anyway. To be fair, the service was excellent. Our waitress handled everything professionally and even apologized for the sides, explaining the kitchen had plated them before she could stop it. The chicken scallopini ordered by someone else in our party was very good, and the other chicken entrées were also enjoyed. Unfortunately, I came for the steak, and that's where the experience fell well short of expectations. At this price point, I expected a high-quality cut of beef, some flexibility with side dishes, and an overall experience that matched the cost. Instead, it felt like every effort was made to minimize portions and avoid accommodating a simple request. I always try to support local restaurants, and I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews. But when you're paying premium prices, the food should reflect it. Based on my experience, I can't recommend the steaks here.

The ambiance was nice, the open kitchen with the wood fire hearth right at the entrance added a warm cozy feel from the onset. The restaurant was warmly lit but not dark. We were seated immediately in the far left dining area in an elevated booth. After reviewing the menu we settled on the fried deviled eggs and wood fire oysters for starters and the Vincent Vega pizza for dinner. Fried deviled eggs was a first for us and it was so good! The egg white was breaded very lightly and fried and the egg yolk was piped on top with a piece of smoky delicious bacon goodness. It had a nice smoky, bacon-y taste and we devoured them. I only wish you got more than 2 pieces. I think 4 pieces would be better for the price considering it's essentially one egg but I'm not complaining. The wood fire oysters was another hit for us, the serving came with 6 half shell oysters topped with breadcrumbs (light), swimming in butter and fire roasted. I think we ate these even faster than the deviled eggs lol! Would definitely get these again. The pizza also did not disappoint. If you like bacon, mushrooms and creamy Boursin cheese, you'll love this pizza. We added crushed red pepper flakes which added a nice kick. The crust is the star of the show; thin, crispy but still has body and slightly chewy. Yum! That wood fire hearth definitely makes a difference. It was made of donuts. It was moist, sweet, and delicious. Drinks: We got a bottle of champagne and two cocktails. Drinks were all very good Service: This is probably why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 3. The service was very good. First, they called me prior to my reservation and asked if they could pre-chill any wine or champagne for my husband's birthday and I was very appreciative of that. When we got there, our drinks came out a little slow but our waiter comped that immediately. Throughout the night, the owner checked in on us several times and that stood out to me. Overall I will come back once they fix some things with the new chef. Hopefully the food will get better

First, let me say the service was absolutely TOP TIER! The staff was attentive, friendly, and the overall atmosphere definitely gave that elevated dining experience. I don't mind paying for a fine dining experience as long as the food matches the experience. We started with the crab dip appetizer, and honestly it was solid. Definitely a good appetizer choice. For drinks, I kept it simple with a tequila sunset and substituted pineapple juice for orange juice a good drink! Now for the meals. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and green beans. I hate to even say this because I had such high hopes, but the lamb chops lacked seasoning for me. I ordered them medium, but they were definitely more medium rare. I love a medium rare ribeye, but not so much with lamb chops. The mashed potatoes and green beans were decent, but overall needed a little more flavor. My husband had the Butcher's Burger with wedges. He said it was a solid burger, slightly overcooked, but still good overall. He did enjoy the different flavor the pork belly added. My daughter ordered the Pasta Pescatore and said it was good, but not necessarily an "oh my goodness, I have to come back for this" type of dish. Overall, because so many people told me I would LOVE The Butcher's Son, I think my expectations were extremely high. The experience and service were excellent, but the food itself didn't completely wow me. It was good, just probably not my first choice for a return visit.

The atmosphere is nice, the food is spectacular, service this time was just ok but not something that would ruin our night. Our waiter was very absent for the most part, it did take a while for us to get our drinks and order; not much check backs for refills and such but overall he was a good server. The food is always amazing, I've never had a negative experience for their food. And the location is nice. The establishment is clean, more on the higher end, we came in dressed to impress for our date but you had a mix of how people were dressed. Down to just your everyday wear. 10/10 recommend

The wine tasting is still my favorite part of the Cooper's Hawk experience. It never fails me. And Nightjar? That one has my heart. The brandy gives it just enough attitude to remind you that you are, in fact, an adult with excellent taste and nowhere important to be afterward. Once the tasting is over, we usually migrate to the bar, and that menu has quietly collected some serious favorites over the years. My longtime love has always been the shrimp and scallop risotto. The risotto itself is still consistently creamy, rich, and beautifully done. Unfortunately, the seafood portion just isn't what it used to be. The scallops seem to have entered witness protection, and the shrimp are often tiny and a little overcooked. At this point, it sometimes feels like a gorgeous bowl of risotto waiting for its seafood to come home. Maybe toss a little crab in there and restore some dignity to the situation? Just a thought. Thankfully, there are plenty of other winners. The burger is easily a 10/10 for me. The chicken piccata completely surprised me because I am not usually a big piccata person, but Cooper's Hawk somehow won me over. The Parmesan-crusted chicken is simple, familiar, and absolutely phenomenal. The green beans are always tender, the mashed potatoes are divine, and the quesadilla on the bar menu deserves far more attention than a quesadilla has any business demanding. Dessert and I have not spent nearly enough time together here, but I did try the chocolate mousse dessert, and yes -- she was worth meeting. The atmosphere is elegant without feeling stuffy. Depending on how lively the locals are around the bar, it can get a little loud, but that is honestly part of the charm. It always feels warm and welcoming, and somehow I manage to meet new people, make new friends, and then find myself back there celebrating with them later. That may be my favorite thing about Cooper's Hawk. I originally came for the wine and food, but over the years it has become a place tied to people, birthdays, family dinners, friendships, and plenty of "one more tasting and then we'll go" lies. The wine keeps me coming back. The food gives me plenty to love. And the memories make the reservation worth it every time.

Hubby and I were thrilled because one is opening near our home outside of Charlotte, NC. Make reservations! This place was packed and we quickly figured out why. Everything is so good. We didn't quite figure out the "lay of the land" but there appeared to be a designated place for tasting that was packed. We enjoyed looking at the "wine toys" while we waited for our table. There are sooooo many unique things that I can't wait to purchase from a location closer to us when it opens; traveling with glass didn't seem too smart. Our server was great and I wish I knew her name to shout her out. Ask to sample any wine you're curious about. And let me say... the sampling pours are more than just a sip. I was astonished! I chose the red flight as rendered. Everything was good. I'm not a fan of Spanish reds and should have substituted that one. Next time! They are so conscientious about food allergies and preferences that you can customize everything (except the jambalaya). I already knew before arriving (because I look at menus ahead of time) that I was getting the scallop and shrimp risotto, especially after I learned I could have it without the disgusting peas and asparagus (but with extra spinach.... I do love some veggies). It was AMAZING and will probably be the dish I always end up getting at the Indian Land, SC location when it opens. No room for dessert so you'll have to read my next review for that. 10/10

We had a reservation for five. Their answer to that was to sit us at a four person hi-top and stick a chair on the end so everyone was crammed in, and sitting on the end meant everyone kept bumping into me the whole night. As for the distillery- someone had the brilliant idea to turn off all the lights in there at 7- so there went your view and any ambient lighting in the dim basement. The service was slow and lackluster. The food was lousy. I had the venison, which was under-seasoned. The pepper gravy had no pepper in it. Only the Brussels sprouts had any actual flavor. The bourbon was the best part of the meal. They offer small 2ox tasters and it was actually quite well done. But not worth going back for.

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

P.S: The server and host were attentive and nice, so the low rating is entirely for the food. My bf and I ordered a truffle fries to share, I ordered the Braveheart Ribeye with broccolini and risotto(forgot what flavor but it was cooked in a cream sauce), and my bf ordered the Ribeye Lasagna. The truffle fries: the fries tasted fresh but they looked like the b-dub fries. Comes with ketchup, which I was hoping for some sort of aioli for an upscale chophouse. The Braveheart Ribeye: The temperature was what I asked for(medium rare), but the char is straight up crispy brunt and bitter as if I'm eating charcoal pieces. I also ordered a demi glaze on the side, and that tasted and looked like some McCormick sauce. No demi-glaze flavor and the color is transparent like those powdered gravy packets. The broccolini was bitter. They were tucked under the steak so maybe the brunt from the steak went onto the broccolini... The risotto was creamy but they were undercooked cuz they were still hard. My bf said his Ribeye Lasagna just tasted like a normal lasagna like he couldn't tell the difference of normal beef and the "ribeye meat" that they used, but it was a big size and the sauce was pretty good so he thinks it's worth the money. The creme brulee... I have this tradition with my bf which we will order a creme brulee(if the restaurant provides) during our first visit. I'm no Michelin creme brulee reviewer, but I'd say I tried and made enough creme brulee to identify what a standard and good creme brulee is, and unfortunately this just ain't one. The flame on top is a cool gimmick but it melts the supposedly crispy top to a little too soft (we waited for about 5 mins after the flame was gone before eating it). The texture of the creme was NOT creme brulee but more like flan, when the creme should've been more of a custard/solid but creamy like texture. We were told their creme brulee has a little orangey-taste to it, but the orangey taste just totally covers the flavor of creme brulee. All we could taste was a bitter orange flan. Although my bf likes his lasagna, we both agreed that for this price we would've expected better tasting food. I have no doubt that the ingredients they used were high quality, but this is just not gonna go nowhere when you don't have the right chef to cook them.
