The service and the ambiance was perfect! A solid 100% the staff was wonderful, our waitress was fantastic! For paying that much for a meal.. It was just alright. Nothing I'll come back for. But I did love the atmosphere and they had a paper straw so I removed it from my glass.

Had such a satisfying meal--everything hit just right. The petit filet was incredibly tender and buttery, cooked perfectly and basically melted in my mouth with every bite. The Caesar salad was crisp, fresh, and well-balanced (not overdressed, which I appreciate), and the garlic mashed potatoes were rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. Definitely one of those meals where every component stands out on its own but also comes together perfectly. Would absolutely order this combo again.

Wonderful dinner! We checked in 30 min early. The kids running the hostess stand were not keeping up as they forget we were in the bar and didn't check. We got contacted by phone 15 min past our reservations but no big deal. This Ruth's Chris does not have a view but is laid out well and very comfortable. Our server "Luan" was simply outstanding! We had the Porterhouse for two. I like it it Med Rare and my better half likes its more towards med well. Luan had a great suggestion I have never done! He ordered it Med Rare let her pick her pieces and sent them back to be finished off perfect. Both were happy! The steak was amazing as was the creamed spinach and potatoes. Our wine glasses never went empty nor did our water. Great service as it should be. The manager did make his rounds to ensure everyone was happy. Simply a great meal at a great steak house! Well done!

My new fave go to in Waikiki! I took my friend for her birthday dinner and we stayed for happy hour - best deal on the island! Dinner was amazing - the steak was cooked to perfection, as always, and the staff was super friendly. Shoutout to Kevin and the manager, David - they really make you feel like family. Their happy hour runs from 4-7 and is priced at $6-7 per drink, and they're pretty strong. I'll definitely be back! It's a close walk to a lot of hotels and the beach, so you can always walk it off if you have too many!

Everything was fine. I would say more like 3.5. Service was friendly. Great location close to hotels and other shopping. Steak was cooked perfectly!! And the lobster macaroni was so delicious!!! Huge serving.

My buddy is a regular here at Ruth's and invited me to dinner on Friday, after a long day of helping him with his business. From the moment we walked in, Russell, our bartender, recognized him and already had his first beer poured and tasty by the time we took our seats at the bar. I ordered my first beer and we ordered shrimp cocktail to start. Everything was excellent, from the food, drinks, service, and cheerful banter. After the shrimp, we ordered a New York strip (cut pupu style), the baked chicken (the best I've ever had), and a side of scalloped potatoes au gratin. Their signature sizzling plates came with the usual fanfare, and it was a perfect spot to further melt the cheese on the chicken, and the potatoes. A couple of glasses of cabernet finished our dinner there, with leftover steak and potatoes to take home. An enjoyable dinner, for sure.

Best place ever! Ask for Russell at the bar! He's the best in town!!service is always excellent with Russ! We have been coming here 2nd time in a row from Vegas and this place never disappoints from food, service, and atmosphere. You can watch games from bar area. They do have happy hour as well! I got the lychee martini which was delicious and not too sweet! This is place is 10/10 and perfect for date night! Make reservations though FYI

Very pretty location, and a great atmosphere. It appears larger than the one in New Orleans area that we are seeing see to. The Service was very good. The Servers were friendly and very friendly. Exactly what you'd expect from a Ruth's Christ. The food was mostly very good. We went with a party of 11, and had a private room. Loved it. The dinner salads were huge, fresh, great dressing's and so good. We then had a couple Tomahawks, and they were absolutely delicious! Cooked to perfection, juicy, seasoned well, and served with a melted butter plate. The Sweet Potato casserole was to die for!! The garlic mashed potatoes were good, the bread pudding was quite good, and a party member reported that her fish dish was very good as well. There were a few other steak cut's which all reported were very good. There was also a stuffed chicken a dish, and 2 kids shrimp meals. All great. The one let down was absolutely the creamed spinach. It was not liked by any member of our group. Really enjoyed it and would indeed recommend it.

My wife and I wanted to have one nice dinner on our last night at Waikiki. We were already sorta tired and we've been up since 6am to capture all the experience we can so coming in for dinner around 8:00pm after waiting for our walk in reservation was called for. Our waiter was Tricia and she took care of us very well, we placed our order through her and she disclosed good info on each item we ordered. We chose the Porterhouse for Two steak and garlic mashed potatoes as well as two drinks, Mango Mule and Pineapple Frizz....bread was also provided while we waited and Tricia made sure we were topped off on bread and water too. When our main course and side came, the server disclosed that the plates we would eat on is hot and which side of the cuts from the steak is what. One side was Ny steak style and the other side was filet mignon, which was very juicy and delicious. We definitely ate our meal together in short time, another man in a suit came by to check in on us when our plates were collected while we were waiting for our desert to arrive, we didn't get his name but he was very kind and told him we ordered the crème brûlée after Tricia sharing that it's a popular choice and also her favorite option to pick. Lastly, Tricia brought over a dessert for my birthday, it was 2 strawberries with chocolate zig zagging drizzle with words saying Happy Birthday, it also had rum on the top where she lit it up where it engulfed in blew flames...it was very cool! We both enjoyed our meal and experience at Ruth's Chris steak house, this is one of the best steakhouses we found in Waikīkī. Definitely come here for a complimentary dessert with an entry purchase if you're rooming at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikīkī (same building).

Like clockwork, my good friend makes reservations for her birthday at her favorite place for an early bird dinner. I highly recommend getting an early reservation because it fills up fast, and you get really quick service, too. I normally don't eat meat so I ordered the Sea Bass. It was exquisitely prepared to the point that the fish literally fell apart at the touch of my fork. We started off with the Steakhouse Salad, Shrimp Cocktail (huge shrimp) and a flavorful Chopped Salad before diving into our main courses, followed by shared deserts.

Ok, so we usually never, ever eat at places we can eat at home while on vacation, but since I was given a Ruth's Chris gift card earlier this month, here we are. The hostess is a little meh, but once seated, we had one of the best dining experiences in Hawaii that we ever had. Our server, Garreth, was really nice, gave us great recommendations for dinner, and tips for the hike we're going on tomorrow. As for the food, we did the tomahawk dinner for 2. It's $220, and you get the tomahawk, 2 sides (garlic mashed and creamed spinach), salad, and dessert. Everything was so good. Perfectly seasoned and piping hot. We swapped out the dessert for $5 extra and got the cheesecake...DELISH! We also added cocktails and the crab cakes to enhance our dinner. Honestly, I would break our rule next time on Oahu, and eat at this location of Ruth's Chris again.

Crème brûlée (can't ever pass this up)

Although it was Valentine's Day and they were so busy...our server Trish was attentive but could tell she and the manager knew the couple next to us. Just by their attention... Overall the evening was great because I was with mi amor.

Ruth's Chris Steak House Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ruth's Chris Steak House

What time is the happy hour on Saturday?

Happy hour is every day from 4-7pm. First come, first served, at the bar counter only.

    Where can you park?

Ruth's Chris validates parking for the Embassy Suites hotel on beachwalk avenue. Various parking garages and lots are available near the area as well as street parking.

    Is there a kids menu?

There is a children's menu, but not printed out. 4oz filet mignon and small roasted chicken with sides and drinks for $22 as of 6/2025. Prices and menu items may change.

Do they still have the escargot? And Apple crisp dessert?

No. Previous menu items like these have either been discontinued or still not back on the menu due to kitchen staff shortages (for prep, they prep all their food daily). Certain items will come back in time.

What is the happy hour special?

It would depend on which Ruth's Chris you are going to in Honolulu. They have a number of appetizers, meals and drinks for Happy Hour, which runs between 4:00-7:00pm. I would suggest going to their website to the specific location.…

Is here BYOB? How much is the carry on fee?

    No there is not

Are they still doing the happy hour special?

Yes but you have to ask for it

Is it recommended that we make reservations? We are going out in april

Yes, please make reservations to ensure you get a table at your desired time. I made reservations months earlier and had a wonderful dinner. Enjoy!

Do they still do the tomahawk dinner for 2?

Yes, we ordered the tomahawk steak and carnivores in our group loved it Impressive

What are the COVID restrictions? Can you provide a negative covid test instead of vaccine card?

We wore a mask while being seated then took it off once seated. We did not have to show our vaccine Card.…

Where do we park for validation?

Park at embassy suites accessible from Beachwalk Ave and let them know where you're going 😉 As far as I know, Imperial (to the left of the steakhouse) doesn't validate unless…

Do they still have the early bird special?

We went there early May and they still had it listed on the menu, and that's what we ordered!

Is this location doing outdoor dining currently?

Yes they have some seating outside

    Is there a dress code?

It is a good restaurant in Waikiki, also my favorite one! I recommend this to you. You should just clean and you should not too much casual fashion. Food is very good, service is fine, I'm sure you can enjoy!

    Is there any children's menu?

Yes there is a kids menu, you just need to ask.

Where is the closest parking garage?

Ruth's Chris in Waikiki is connected to the Embassy Suites. They only valet, but check into the Waikiki Beach Walk page. You get three free hours of valet parking. I just end up tipping the valet guys a few bucks. Enter on Beach Walk from Kalakaua…

Server was ok at the beginning, but not sure why it slowed down so much after about 45 minutes even tho the place wasn't too crowded. Not good: dessert. We ordered the Mac nut espresso cookie. We were thinking it was a cookie skillet or at least a big soft warm and gooey fresh cookie. What we got were 2 thin, small, stale, crispy-ish cookies and some overly sweet runny cream sauce on the side. It took about 20 minutes to get these from the time we ordered them. Not worth the wait. Service got really slow towards 9 pm and the place wasn't that crowded by this point. Overall I don't think we will return. Service was pretty slow at the end and the food was just ok.

The only reason I didn't give this review a 1-2 star is that I recognize that Abe is busting his butt there. He was floating back and forth between this bar and Eleven. Separate review with my direct encounter with Abe at Eleven forthcoming.

We stopped in during their happy hour from 3-5 PM, and it immediately stood out as an ideal after-work pau hana or easy date-night spot. The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. The standout for us was the empanadas -- flaky, crisp pastry filled with tender braised beef and potato, finished with a bold aji rojo sauce that added just the right amount of depth and gentle heat. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. Whether you're looking for a low-key happy hour, a casual date spot, or a place to unwind after work, this is a hidden gem worth seeking out. Pro tip: Arrive early for happy hour -- once more people discover this spot, it won't stay quiet for long.

Charming ambiance [Honolulu HI]…read more We came here by invite from Terry K and also had the pleasure of joining Therese and her hubby, Kevin. The cafe had a nice inviting feel that extended towards the back, the ambiance was dark and chic. The cafe was adorned with Halloween motif. We placed our orders at the counter which was towards the front section and our food were served at our table. I chose the Spinach Mushroom Goat Cheese Omelette and Lemonade for my drink. That homemade lemonade was so refreshing and delicious! Loved the delicious spinach and mushroom in my omelet. Hubby ordered a classic breakfast of Two Eggs w/ Bacon and Roasted Potatoes... wow! the bacon was crispy and yummy and just how I like my bacon cooked. He gave me 2-pieces, maybe because he saw me drooling over it LoL! but I'm telling you, Therese's Wagyu Cheeseburger on Brioche with French Fries looked mighty yummy too! Thank you, Terry, for inviting us to join you for a Sunday brunch. We had a wonderful first time dining experience here with good food and company! Review #3585

Silver Lining is located in Kakaako with it's own private parking lot. Yes, it does look a little sketchy before you open the door- but hey, it's giving Speakeasy so just lean into the experience and you won't be disappointed! Inside you are met with soft jazz music and a beautiful bar which only sits maybe 10-12 people. There's also a small private room in the wine cellar which you can reserve if you call ahead. Regardless, it's super intimate and a perfect place to unwind or have a special date night. They only serve natural wines and they have a huge selection! They will also give you recommendations if you don't know where to start. Don't be afraid to talk to the bartenders or the wonderful owner- they will definitely point you in the right direction. I've been here three times already and each time tops the last. I've tried: - Mushroom Carpaccio: SO fresh and SO delicious. I have never had anything like this before, and man it's a must try. - Arugula Salad: You just can't go wrong. The balsamic is so tangy and tasty- please don't skip this either. - Baked Meatballs & Sauce: DELICIOUS!!! So tasty and it goes so well with their red wines. - Charcuterie: I have never had charcuterie as fresh as this honestly. They slice the meat in front of you too which is so cool. Definitely a must try if you love charcuterie. My girlfriends and I have tried a lot of their wines (maybe too much LOL) but all of them are so good. Seriously, you can't go wrong. It's also really cool because they serve tasting portions of the wine, but if you like it a lot you can also buy a carafe (or buy the whole bottle like we did). Silver Lining is such a gem and I can't wait to be back again soon!!!

I'm currently choosing to avoid alcohol as much as possible, so I wasn't able to fully enjoy the incredible selection of wines recommended by the owner. However, I visited with a friend who is a true wine enthusiast, and they couldn't stop talking about how exceptional the wine selection was. The food, on the other hand, was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared and so delicious that it genuinely made me happy. You can really tell that great care goes into every plate. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and incredibly inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and spend quality time with friends. Most of all, I want to compliment the owner and the entire staff. Their genuine kindness, professionalism, and warm hospitality made our experience even more memorable. Excellent service can turn a great restaurant into a truly special one, and that's exactly what they've created here. Thank you for such joyful and memorable evenings. I look forward to coming back again soon, and I highly recommend Silver Lining to anyone looking for outstanding food, excellent wine, and truly exceptional hospitality.
