The real standout, though, was the Stuffed Crusted Chicken with mashed potatoes I travel often and have lived in Southern California , so I've had my fair share of great restaurants, and this chicken was absolutely unreal. I've eaten at plenty of places over the years, but nothing has consistently impressed me like Tommy Bahama. The food is outstanding, the live music creates such a fun atmosphere, and the rooftop is the perfect place to relax. This place truly feels like a hidden gem. Came with two spreads: pimiento cheese and honey butter. Biscuits had were not the tradional hard crust flaky layer type. They were more fluffy inside with smoother crust similar to the outside layer of a cake. Battery yummy. The better entree was the Chilean Seabass. One of the best sauces I've had on seafood. The sauce was perfect. Smooth blend of miso, cream, miron and what tasted like black sesame. Slightly sweet. Not too heavy. The Seabass was also perfectly cooked; springy and moist. The mushroom and spinach tasted like they were soaked on sweet white wine. Came with white rice topped with furikake. Pricey at $50 but worth it. The Creole Pasta had lots of real crab topping the pasta. Succulent shrimp mixed in the pasta. Seafood was fresh. The creamy sauce was not too thick but could use a little more of the creole seasoning. I expected it to be a little spicy but it was not. Good serving size. Came with two slices of toast. It's closer to Alfredo sauce but with the paprika taste. The staff were all so professional but chill and naturally friendly at the same time. One of the nicest restaurant staff I've met. The reservation was for 12:30 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026 and this would be my second time eating at Tommy Bahama but a first time with my job that I have for a group building meeting... or what they call a work outing.. We got there pretty early and it was less than 10 minutes before our waitress by the name of Jackie had taken our drink orders fairly simple she had been very accommodating ... In most of the orders we did have she had been very exceptional, and she also took the time out to consider certain detail details like my sparkling water for instance ... I finished off two whole glasses of sparkling water and she had went ahead and made a third as a takeout container for me... The Wagyu burger I ordered had been very good. It had a great texture throughout. I had asked for it to be medium well done and it was spot on whoever the chef was on June 15, 2026 at about 1 PM had made my burger exactly to the specifications I asked. Our table of eight had went ahead and shared a selection of three desserts. I personally felt the chocolate cake would've been a little bit heavy so I didn't have too much of that, but it had a very good taste. I did really enjoy the crème brûlée that pineapple crème brûlée had a very noticeable creamy delicious taste of freshness with the cream ... it might possibly be my favorite dessert at a restaurant and I may just come back to have just that... the piña colada cake was super moist and that was also very delicious... Our favorite meal of our trip! We booked dinner for a Wednesday night on the rooftop. For drinks we ordered the Mai Tai and the Espresso martini - both were perfect! I was expecting something more like the flavorful shrimp from the Hawaii food trucks, but these didn't have much flavor. The service was good, and our server was very friendly. Started off with a lovely cocktail. Our waiter recommended the coconut shrimp and they were to die for, crispy and delicious. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted red snapper and it was wonderful. We had reservations on the patio, which is mostly covered. That was important, as we had a few passing rain showers. They worked with diners who were more out in the open to accommodate them in a drier spot. Our table and many others were fine. It is a bit cooler and breezy on the rooftop. Service and food were excellent. Martini was food and decent wine selection. I got the red snapper catching the day special. It was superb! We had an absolutely amazing experience! Our server, Semi (also known as Jimmy), was one of the best servers we've ever had. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and made excellent recommendations that made our meal even better. The ribs were absolutely to die for--we weren't sure what to expect, but they exceeded every expectation. The lobster soup was packed with lobster, and the coconut shrimp was outstanding. The desserts were a little larger than we expected, but they were delicious and definitely worth sharing. We truly have zero complaints. From the food and service to the live musician, who was an easy 10/10, everything came together for a perfect evening. The night couldn't have gone any better. We'll definitely be back before this trip is over to try the tacos and enjoy the live music again. This has officially become a place we'll make sure to visit every year. As for drinks and food: I ordered the grapefruit cocktail, which was amazing but pretty strong for me--I felt it after just one drink! The food, however, was fairly average. We ordered crab cakes, a margarita pizza from the kids' menu, and mahi-mahi tacos. I didn't really find the mahi-mahi to be blackened as expected. For dessert, we had the pineapple crème brûlée, and that was the highlight. It wasn't overly sweet and had the perfect balance of flavors--the pineapple blended beautifully. Tropical themed clothes, household items, and now bar bites and libations? Consider me a new fan of the hybrid store, restaurant and bar that is the Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store. Located along a narrow street called Beach Street which leads directly from the main thoroughfare of Kalākaua Avenue to the beachfront Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store lives up to its elongated title with a retail store on the first level, a restaurant on the second level, and a rooftop bar on the third level. I have been a fan of the Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store since I was able to enjoy a different location on the island of Maui many years ago, and always had my eye on venturing to this location in the heart of the tourist mecca that is Waikiki for many years now, but only recently got the chance to go on a rainy afternoon upon my late arrival to Waikiki. Looking at past signage shared by my fellow Yelpers I had assumed that the Happy Hour menu was activated starting at 2 p.m. local time, but upon my arrival I was disappointed to see on the signage on the first floor that Happy Hour lasted from 3-5 p.m. on a daily basis. So after walking around Kalākaua Avenue for an entire hour, I was back at their host station along the second floor and they happily accommodated me with a table in their bar area, of which I selected over a seat at their bar. My server Ally was nice enough to remind me that their Happy Hour menu was in effect and I could order from that section of their menu while seated in this area of the restaurant. The menu at Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store is separated into categories including Cocktails, Zero-Proof, Wine, Island Time Happy Hour, Starters, Soups & Salads, Sides, Entrées, and their Spring Menu. Their Island Time Happy Hour menu here is not very expansive as they have two small menu items, but do offer 5 dollars off of items of their Starter menu, in addition to 5 dollars off of their Speciality Cocktails and Wines by the Glass, as well as 10 dollar Well Drinks and 8 dollar Select Draft Beers. I was committed to trying menus from their Island Time Happy Hour menu, so I ordered their Bar Burger Slider which was a small burger that came with American Cheese, Tommy Bahama Sauce, and Onion Jam; and their Blackened Mahi Mahi Taco which was one taco that was topped with Tomato Relish, Chipotle Aïoli, Island Slaw and Lime Sour Cream. To pair with my meal, I ordered their Bahia Sangria cocktail which was a combination of Brandy, Red Wine, Pomegranate, Oranges, Green Apples, Lemons. My first three orders would be presented first and they were a wonderful combination of flavors that paired so deliciously with my festive cocktail. I especially loved their Mahi Mahi Taco as it was a hearty piece of fish topped with an abundance of ingredients served on a softly grilled tortilla. Since I loved my first grouping of food, I decided to order their Lobster Spring Rolls which four deep fried rolls that had Kurobuta Pork and Shrimp and served with an Apricot Thai Chili Sauce dipping sauce, Green Leaf, Mint, Basil, Pickled Daikon and Carrots; and their Scallop Sliders which were two small sandwiches that were topped with Chipotle Aïoli, Basil, Roma Tomatoes, Island Slaw and served with Crispy Frites. The Lobster Spring Rolls were a inspired way to enjoy your traditional spring rolls, as you can combine their green leaf lettuce, mint, basil, daikon, carrots and the deep fried spring rolls into a festive entrée. The Scallop Sliders were not as imaginative and didn't hit the flavors that I was hoping for, so I probably would not order this particular dish again. My total bill was $64.92 which was before gratuity was added in, which I consider I real deal financially especially considering all the competition that is around this particular area of Waikiki. I consider Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store a great place to enjoy a nice meal, especially during their Island Time Happy Hour, as it provides an affordable option for stylish, tropical-themed cuisine with an emphasis on hearty seafood dishes. The combination of shopping and dining creates a relaxing and enjoyable experience, offering a welcome respite from the chaos of the surrounding area. We walked there from our hotel which was nice because parking down here is scarce. It is located in their store so look for the signs that take you to the iron staircase. Once you arrive on the second level, you'll be greeted by the host. They checked us in and let us go up the stairs for the outdoor rooftop seating, which is on the third level. We were sat promptly. There was a live musician playing smooth guitar music of popular songs and of course Hawaiian songs. He asked us for requests which was very nice! I loved listening to it in the background throughout our dinner experience. We started off with Christmas themed cocktails. Mine has a twist on the cranberry vodka, and my husband's was a twist on an old-fashioned. I enjoyed his more than mine, but overall very pleasant. Our server was nice and welcoming. I ordered the mahi tacos and those were great. It came with a side of chips and a little bit of salsa. I had to ask for more salsa for the chips. My husband had a crusted mahi-mahi with rice. It was pretty good. The rice had some almonds in it, which gave it fun texture. We went there at the prime time of 5 o'clock, so we were able to experience it with light and dark. In particular was the complimentary bread with the cinnamon honey butter. They no longer serve them nor do they have any complimentary bread offerings. While a couple of the mainstays are still available, we found the recipe had changed and somehow the quality and flavor profile isn't there. Ordered a mojito but was disappointed in it. TB's alcoholic beverages have always been a little alcohol heavy for me but this time there was barely any alcohol in it! We ordered the lump crab cake appetizer to start. While it tasted great, the crab meat patty fell apart as soon as we touched it - making it a little messy to eat. The slaw that accompanied it was rather bland. For our entrees we had the Baby back ribs and the Creole shrimp and crab pasta. Not sure we had any crab in it and had small slivers of the andouille sausage. Despite this, the dish was very flavorful. Our server made up for the disappointing experience. She was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was not very busy on a Monday night. We were seated by the window lanai area but it was too close to the Hard Rock restaurant next door. We came here for a pre welcome dinner for the wedding party and plus ones and it was such a great experience. My boyfriend was in the wedding party and I was a plus one. Honestly I didn't even know Tommy Bahama had a restaurant. I only thought of it as a clothing store since my boyfriend shops there all the time. Finding out they had a restaurant in Hawaii was a fun surprise. The food was absolutely amazing. They brought out shared appetizers for the tables. I know there was something with shrimp that was so good and the salads were fresh and delicious. I ordered a dish with lobster, noodles, and bread. The shrimp is good, but the star of the show is the slaw that comes with it. It sounds weird, but the slaw is incredible. The rooftop dining is great as there is a cool breeze that makes it comfortable. The service and food are wonderful. You will not be disappointed. read more

Not our first visit to Honolulu, but our first and the very next day, second visit to Tommy Bahama Restaurant in Waikiki. A special thank you to Jessica K. for her incredible service and excellent recommendations. The dinner menu offered so many delicious options that it was difficult to choose! We started with a Blood Orange Margarita and a Grapefruit Basil Martini - both were refreshing and absolutely delicious. From the spring menu, we selected two appetizers: Eggplant Arancini and Lamb Skewers. All we can say is - WOW! Truly outstanding. Although we were already quite full, we decided to share the Macadamia-Nut-Crusted Fresh Catch. Once again, everything from the flavor and temperature to the presentation was five-star quality. The fish was perfectly tender with a wonderfully crunchy crust. The almond rice was an excellent accompaniment, and the grilled asparagus was the best we've had in a long time - perfectly cooked. For dessert, we had the Pineapple Crème Brûlée. Make sure to save room for this - it's smooth, silky, and absolutely delicious. A big thank you to everyone working in the kitchen and behind the bar on April 26 at 7:00 pm - you all did an incredible job. And thank you again, Jessica K., for making our experience so memorable! The next day, we returned for happy hour on the rooftop. Once again, everything was fantastic: Ahi Tuna Tacos, Ahi Poke, guacamole, and beer - fresh and delicious. We had a party of 6. I am vegan and there were options for me as well. I had the asparagus. We also shared the chips and salsa which was delicious! Others had the crab cakes, the steak salad, fish tacos, crab bisque, and mashed potatoes. We also had cider and their version of a lemon drop both really good and they used top shelf vodka. Jake was an amazing server. He took care of our large group with all of our differing dietary needs. read more
