I didn't want to extract my tooth and felt hopeless until my cousin referred me to Dr. Candelora. We worked together and crowned the tooth again and here I am over 6+ yrs with it. He also gave me some beautiful natural looking lateral veneers. Sadly, I got invisiline at another office and they filed too much of my teeth which left me with almond slivers for teeth. Street parking everywhere or underground with partial validation from the office, I've got Delta Dental, which pays for semi-annual cleanings and x-rays, and a portion of most other things. Unfortunately when it comes to teeth, you must do what must be done. Save the tooth, as my mother would say. But there's no upselling here, and the quality of care is so good without the westside pricing. I have had severe dental anxiety for years and stopped going to any dentist. Then I cracked a tooth about a year ago and realized I needed to do something. I came to Dr. Candelora and explained how nervous and full of anxiety I was and they made me feel very comfortable. They made it EASY. I've been neglecting my teeth for the past few years so I found Dr. Candelora doing an internet search. With all the positive reviews, I took a chance on the guy and I have not regretted the choice. Dr. Candelora and his staff are AWESOME. I rarely have to wait too long and everyone is so kind. The hygienist took the time to explain to me the status of my dental hygiene using photographs she took. Dr. Candelora advised me on options regarding the crooked alignment on my teeth (wear your retainer kids). He gave me his honest opinion and did not push me like a used car salesman. As patients, all we want is an honest dentist who puts their patients first and not their bank account. Last week I had the unfortunate experience of losing my front tooth. I called into their office on Saturday and left a message. Dr Candelora returned my phone message in minutes. He gave me the opportunity to come in and see him on Saturday. I chose to go to their office on Monday. The office staff were so helpful. Dr Kim at the practice, spent time with me explaining what needed to be done. He is very sensitive to the fact that to repair my tooth he wanted perfection, as it is also a cosmetic issue. I have been going to Dr. Candelora for over 6 years now (probably longer). He took over the practice of my dentist who was retiring. Dr. Candelora is soooo personable and friendly and puts you at ease. I like the fact that he knows all the newer procedures and performs them to my comfort level. Like others have said, the entire office staff is great too. They are always welcoming when I go for my semi-annual cleaning and exam. I used to work in the same buidling as this dental office and later worked at another company a block away so going here was so convenient. I live and work in the Pasadena area and still drive to Glendale for my dental needs. Dr. Candelora is amazing and his hygienist Joanne is very gentle. I used to have terrible anxiety around going to the dentist due to the fact I was never really numb when work was done and it always hurt. I had seen 6-7 dentists from childhood until Candelora and none of them could figure out how to numb me properly. Candelora figured out how to numb me for my first filling with him. (I think my numbing issues are genetic since my mom has the exact same problem). Dr. Candelora uses a non-standard numbing agent and does 3-4 shots over 30 minutes to get me numb before he starts work; it works like a charm! No other dentist took the time nor had his extensive knowledge of dentistry. I no longer have any dental anxiety since it no longer hurts to get work done. I am a research scientist and it didn't take me long to figure out he is incredibly smart and keeps up on the latest research and technology in dentistry. I have a severe dentist phobia (due to a childhood dentist who pulled my tooth out without telling me he was going to!) so I have always been very nervous about visiting dentists, even as an adult. I've been going to Dr. Candelora for about 1.5 years and am so relieved and happy that someone recommended him when I moved to the area- he is the BEST. His office staff is always so bright and cheerful, and Jeannie (the technician who cleans my teeth) is simply amazing. Both Jeannie and Dr. Candelora are aware of my dentist phobia and do everything they can to alleviate my anxiety. I feel relaxed during my visits (which believe me is a huge change for me).
