They often don't have hard chocolate icecream. Today my husband and I wanted to share a banana split. They had no pistachio, butter pecan, cookie dough or cherry vanilla! Thir strawberry topping had no berries in it (just syrup). Thier strawberry icecream was bubblegum pink and you needed a microscope to find any berries. I realy miss Scoops ​ read more

Soft serve isn't hard to do but somehow they've managed to mess it up here. Chocolate was sour and vanilla was tasteless. Maybe they need new machines? But at least test your product to be sure it's good. Hard serve is the better choice with a lot of interesting flavors. Still there are better places to go for ice cream in the area. read more

Went there for the first time since it changed from scoops. They did not have Rocky Road or Banana and were out of Pistachio. There were (2) maybe 16 year olds that couldn't keep up with the baseball team running all over the place. Won't be back. read more

The ice cream is good, the young ppl working there are very nice and polite BUT the owner is the worst. My son and I went Friday night to pick up IC for 6 of us. Just as I was opening the door the lights went out, ugh! With the door open I asked if there was anyway to still get ice cream. The older guy behind the counter said "no". No other words, just no. We closed the door and stood out side trying to figure out where to go next and the lights came on. I open the door to go back in and as my foot hit the floor the lights went out again...the guy behind the counter screamed "shut the door". WTH...I am not accustomed to being yelled at by strangers, especially someone I was about to give my money to! I understand this is a stressful time for everyone, our power was out too. Be warned they will close early and leave you sitting outside in complete darkness with your small children. We arrived at 940 after checking that they were open until 10. The girls working were quite unhappy that we were there and boy did it show. The red head who said her name was Madeline was especially nasty. They did serve us although it appeared that everything was shut down. Guess that's why my hot fudge was ice cold. We went outside with our ice cream. At 945 pm the closed sign went up, the lights went out, the girls left and we were left sitting in darkness outside well before the stated closing hours. If the hours have changed perhaps they should be updated on their website, google and yelp. We went there 4 adults and 1 child . My parthner ask for more than 2 samples , the woman reply to him pretty badly no more than 2 samples per person . Credit card and debit card are not working you have to pay cash . The banana ice cream was awesome delicious . The peach very disapointing , absolutly no flavor . Do not go here. Overpriced ice cream-close to $6 for small. My 6 year old ordered a cone and I knew it may spill. Asked for a cup in case. Charged me .75 for the cup. Before I could hand my daughter the cup, her cone fell. Owner literally looked at me and said "oh well your problem." No empathy for my crying child at all. I got the gelati when I visited and it was overall good. The water ice was a bit hard and flavorless, but the soft serve made up for it. This place had the best soft serve icecream that I have ever had. It was soft and not too milky. It didn't melt easily and was also fluffy like the texture of a marshmallow! If you visit don't get the water ice and I don't know too much about their hard icecream but the soft serve is a must do! read more

I had a bad experience here. Some miserable employee ruined a good mood i was in because she was very cold and rude.

Every time we go to Scoops, which is very often, the girls are both efficient at moving the long line and friendly. Despite the craziness of a rush, my kids and I are always greeted with a smile and if we cannot decide what to order because there are so many choices, the girls give suggestions or offer samples. The only drawback is that Scoops is cash-only which can be a pain but if you can remember to bring cash, Scoops is a great place to go for a homemade treat. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Where's the Manager when you need one? Went in tonight and witnessed something so gross, that I wish someone from the Board of Health was with me. Employee wearing Seton Hall shirt was awaiting customers at the counter. While she was standing there, she had her fingers in her mouth- not sure if nail biting or what she was doing? She then went on to serve customers without washing her hands. How disgusting? Aside from that, I thought it's the law to wear gloves when serving food?? Oh no- not here. I've been a customer of Scoops for a very long time...starting with the Scoops on Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, though that was probably a different ownership. Both installations had very good ice cream and I've had positive experiences until recently. First, I went to buy my favorite flavor. English butter toffee, last November or December and it was no longer available. So I ordered a different flavor, and it was the worst ice cream I've purchased at an ice cream storm. Old and dried, It tasted like it had been there since summer. Then in January we had a family party nearby and planned on ice cream at Scoops for dessert. My granddaughter called to ask for a list of flavors while we listened so we could pick our orders. Instead the man who answered said he was too busy. It was 27 degrees out, so I had my doubts about that and figured he didn't want to be bothered. We called Igloo nearby, and that employee was very accommodating, and we got our order from there. Just for the heck of it after picking up our order we drove by Scoops, and there was no one in the store except for the employee, so I'm sure he was lazy not busy. I personally won't return to Scoops as there is no excuse for the rudeness, and now the ice cream is suspect. read more
