    Spicy hawaiian
    Connie Y.

Small storefront but super welcoming vibe and cashier was super helpful offering recommendations. Parking a bit difficult on the street leading up to the store but there's a structure right in front. Their set flavors are good for traditional poke but I personally just like picking my own toppings and sides. The spicy hawaiian was still yummy and had a good kick to it. The more popular flavors scared me as they had chilis in it and not sure if I could handle that spice But I would come back and try them! Portion sizes are ok I wish there was a little more to it considering the price of it and was still kinda hungry after

Great fish and great service! It's a decently viral spot so I had to try! I went on a Saturday around noon past lunchtime and there was a short line so not too long of a wait. It's a small shop so there's a bit few seating if you want to dine in. I got the tsunami nachos and shared it with my boyfriend and we were both full in the end! We ordered the spicy tobiko salmon but got firecracker salmon due to their mistake but still enjoyed it! Firecracker is their most popular flavor choice and I do recommend. The staff was super nice about it and gave us a portion of our ordered fish on the side free of charge! I've tried the poke bowl a different time and only critique I would say is the need for additional sauce as the rice is a bit dry with the proportion of poke given. Regardless of the harmless mix-up, I'd highly recommend the poke here as it's flavorful, fresh, and high quality, and the staff genuinely feel so passionate and friendly.

Aloha! Easily one of the better poke spots I've had in Orange County. I made the drive out to Huntington Beach specifically for this, and I'm so glad I did. Their "homestyle" recipe is complete with tangy cucumbers and ultra-fresh, high-grade sashimi, making every bite fantastic. The space has a lot of ohana, featuring a family mural. On the other side, portraits of the original Hawaii location from its Netflix highlight. They've come a long way, and bringing an authentic slice of the North Shore to another iconic surf town is a match made in the ocean. To top it off, they carry Hawaiian soft drinks, which are practically impossible for me to pass up. Mahalo!

Got to finally see what all the hype was with Ry's... and wow was it good! This small shop is serving up some fresh poke with a simple menu of poke bowls, poke salad, and poke by the pound. I got the regular poke bowl with salmon, california style. The fish was so yummy and cut into the perfect bite sized pieces. I loved the addition of the imitation crab and onion with the california style. The rice was also perfectly seasoned. We also got the tortilla chips and seaweed salad on the side. Putting everything together made the perfect bite. There is limited seating inside, so keep that in mind. But the beach is just a few steps away, so heading there afterwards is always a great option.

I've been wanting to try Ry's for a while and it did not disappoint! The poke nachos are huge, enough for 2 people. They don't have the wonton chips at this location, so I'd like to try their other location for the wonton chips. The poke itself tastes really fresh and there's so many different flavors to choose from.

We are Foodland poke fans and the style of poke bowls is pretty similar. Even during slower times, there's a line. Our first time was a litrle overwhelming so we chose quickly without really reading through each flavor. We had the spicy Hawaiian and lao ahi. Wish the nachos were wonton chips but the flavors were still there. The small portion pf nachos was plenty but my teen polished off the large poke over rice. Fish was fresh! The wait wasnt bad. It's a small place so don't count on eating inside. Fortunately with the beach just a block away, you'll always have a great meal with a view.

The ahi was fresh and the portion was large; I just wish the operation was a bit more efficient. Most poke places generally serve premade poke, so they're able to hand you your food when you pay. However, here, not only is there a line to order but you're also waiting again after you pay. I just assume that they're mixing the poke flavors (maybe even cubing the fish, it took so long!) to order. I honestly can't taste the difference, though. Would be fine by me to have your poke pre-made. There's a free lot across the street but it was full when I arrived at noonish on a Sunday. Spots are slim, but I've generally found paid street parking within a couple of blocks.

Unfortunately found out that they no longer have wonton chips at this location. Now it's only available at the Pasadena one. We got two orders of poke nachos anyway since that's what we were craving but I don't think it was nearly as good with regular tortilla chips. This got split between 3 people so I wasn't super full by the end but I was pretty satisfied We got the salmon Lao style and spicy tobiko for the ahi. Both were pretty good but I think I would ask for no eel sauce next time. I do like eel sauce in general but there was too much and I think it overpowered the flavor of the sauce and the fish. I did like the crab meat though which they cut up in bigger pieces than I'm used to

Walked around downtown HB for bit before we came over. Was recommended by my homie saying quality and taste is quite similar back in Hawaii, so we had to see what's up. It was busy especially during a Wednesday, but the line went by quick. Cute and cozy shop. It gave me those island vibes. I ordered the Salmon Firecracker style bowl, and my gf got the Tuna Lao style with half rice and half salad. It was $15 per bowl. Both dishes are definitely a 5/5 in flavor and creativeness. The fish tastes fresh and not fishy or slimy. The Firecracker is more Hawaiian traditional, while the Lao style has fish sauce and spicy. I heard the owners were from North Shore, so you know the poke is authentic. Probably one of the best poke I had since my vacay in Oahu. Spots like Lowkey Poke and Poke Haus is not worth it. You gotta come here guys, alright. Just get poke and walk down to the beach or pier with your girl and enjoy the hot ass summer. Drink up too lol. Mahalo!

    Vincent N.

Quite possibly the best tasting fish/poke I have had in OC! Had to get the two fish (salmon and ahi) rice bowl to try both! You get to choose two flavors (one for each fish) got the shoyu and spicy Hawaiian. Both were pretty good and flavorful! The fish was so soft and fresh, it brought me back to Hawaii! I also do like how it comes with pickled cucumber! However the rice was hard and it really made lowered the overall experience of the bowl. Also, chips were tortilla chips and not wonton chips. $23 for a two fish rice bowl is a little hefty as well, but it is definitely worth it for what I feel like is the closest thing to Hawaii. However for overall taste of a poke bowl, it is not at the top of my list.

    Firecracker salmon
    Leyna N.

Finally got to try ry's! I ordered the firecracker with salmon! The wait was maybe 20 minutes in line but it was worth every bite! I was pretty full after a few bites and the ratio was a bit too much rice. Definitely fresh and reminded of Hawaii all over again!

    Maritza P.

Customer service was notably sweet, attentive to taking my order making sure everything was correct. Get the spicy flavors. They did not miss with all the flavor! The quality was impeccable. No words. Note that the Pasadena location is the only one with wonton chips. Highly recommend when you are visiting Huntington Beach.

Ry's Poke Shack lives up to the hype. This place serves some of the most unique poke around. I've been here three times now, and every visit has been excellent. It's a small hole-in-the-wall spot right in the heart of Huntington Beach. The lines can get long, but service moves surprisingly fast. What I ordered: Mayjah Bowl (2-choice poke): I selected the Ponzu Crunch and Firecracker, topped with Ry's famous crab salad. * The ahi for the Ponzu Crunch was perfectly balanced in texture and flavor. * For the Firecracker, I chose it hoping the spicy mayo would complement the other ingredients and I was right. Ahi Kamikaze ( 1/2 pound): This was slightly underwhelming compared to the other flavors. I'll definitely return to explore more options, but overall, it was still solid.

My cousin recommended this place to me during my last visit to Huntington Beach. He was very positive as well as satisfied with the food and the service of North Shore Poke. Their overall service was undoubtedly very good, but the taste and quality of the food were the only aspects that left me disappointed! I went to North Shore Poke Co. for lunch on March 28, 2026 after my visit to Huntington Beach. The place was moderately crowded the time I got in. The interior is nicely designed, capturing a traditional Hawaiian vibe. I chose the custom poke bowl - a small bowl with Rice and Salad, topped with three Hawaiian sauces (Traditional Shoyu, Spicy Mayo, and Spicy Shoyu), along with Ahi Tuna, Salmon, and extras like Cucumber, Masago, and Furikake. I also added Fresh Spicy Tuna and Seaweed Salad, which cost an additional $4.50! What disappointed me most was being charged for the Seaweed Salad, as many other poke spots typically include it as a complimentary topping. Their service was fast, and my small poke bowl was served within 5 minutes. The portion size felt underwhelming, considering the price I paid. The taste was also below average. They claim that their fish is "Fresh", my poke bowl unfortunately didn't reflect that. Most concerning of all, the Fresh Spicy Tuna seemed spoiled and had a very unpleasant smell! When I informed them, they promptly replaced the Fresh Spicy Tuna with Blue Crab. But by that time, I had lost my appetite due to the incident and could barely finish my poke bowl. North Shore Poke Co. might be one of the top poke spots in Huntington Beach, but I would still rank The Poke Place in Rancho Cucamonga and Ahipoki Bowl in Rialto well above it. Most likely I'm not coming back to this place again!

Service was attentive throughout the visit. They offer several premade bowls, but you can also build your own, which I did. There were plenty of flavors and sauces to choose from, and the descriptions next to each option made it easy to figure out what everything was without having to ask. The selection isn't the largest I've seen at a poke spot, but there were still enough options to put together a bowl without feeling limited. The portions were also generous, with a good amount of both protein and toppings. I ordered tuna and salmon, and both tasted fresh. The only thing of note was the rice, which was a little too moist and tended to clump together. It didn't ruin the bowl, but a slightly firmer texture would have been better. Overall, it's a solid poke spot with fresh fish and good portions. The straightforward menu and helpful descriptions also make it easy to order if you're trying it for the first time. I'd come back and try some of the other combinations.
