    Flautas plate

The carne asada burrito comes clean but they give you all of the fixings separately, except guacamole and sour cream. Big sized and plenty of meat, but a bit dry and lacking the typical juices that made this burrito famous. For $11 it's not bad, but not my favorite. Flautas plate was big and crunchy. They are big ones!

Food is always delicious!! The food portions are enough to serve 2-3 people off one plate. Drinks are always on point, the service is wonderful. Waiter and waitresses always checking in on you. Came on a Friday night and it wasn't crowded, loud, or overwhelming

Just so delicious! Everything's fresh and top quality ingredients at this food destination. Service was great and prices were awesome considering what was offered. An established restaurant that's been here for decades, the ambience is a little stepped up from your basic salsa Trail restaurants. Great happy hour specials and tasty margaritas-- ole! Easy access parking in a dedicated parking lot. Definitely recommend taking some time to stop in and try a meal at this particular restaurant. Their sauces, all homemade, were just phenomenal.

This restaurant is a must try if you're looking for delicious food and great service. First things first, this place is big. There's plenty of seating throughout, small tables, large tables to accommodate groups and a separate bar area/room for those adults looking for a more private place to have a cocktail or catch up on some sports. The menu is quite extensive and has a nice variety of items and specials, the alcoholic drink menu also has a very nice selection of mixed drinks. They do serve beer as well and have Happy Hour and Daily Specials. The food: was absolutely delicious. The appetizer that has the rolled tacos is more than enough to qualify as an actual meal. The flautas are crispy, and packed with meat. The fish tacos were super delicious and fresh tasting but do pack some heat! If you can't handle spicy food, the fish tacos are not for you! Their hamburgers are juicy and a good size. The black beans and rice that accompany the tacos are full of flavor, they are absolutely delicious. The various salsas they bring out are all flavorful but spicy. If you don't like spicy food, stick to the bean dip they also bring out with the salsas. The service is phenomenal. Our waitress was on point and not only was she attentive but she had a good attitude. Made our meal even more enjoyable. The restaurant is clean, the bathroom are clean, and the atmosphere is upbeat. They do have patio seating also. All in all, this has become my favorite restaurant in Las Cruces and make it a point to stop by whenever I'm down there visiting family. Highly recommend.

Out of few authentic Mexican food restaurants we tried in the area, Si Senor was most upscale. It gets busy here, but we managed to get a table right away. They have very beautiful dining room complete with a fountain in the center. Beef tacos were so so, but the beans and rice were really delicious. Their combo plate is perfect if you don't know what to order...little bit of everything. Portion sizes are huge; enough to share. Their chips come with multiple dipping options. It was fun trying them all. Highly recommend!!

They start you off with free chips and salsa. If you're NOT into spicy, stay away from the green chile one. There was a sour cream based dip, bean dip and red chunky salsa. They were ALL great! Ordered the combo that had green chili relleno, taco, taquito and green chili with beef. So bomb! The rice was just ok. Not enough fluff for me. Beans were delicious tho! Waited for about 45 minutes for our party to be seated. It was pretty packed when we got there. Food came pretty quick. There were 7 total in our party as well. Ordered sopapullas and they were amazing too!

This was the first meal of our trip and it was the best!! We wish we could have eaten here many more times. The food is delicious. The chips and salsas at the beginning of the meal were so unique and flavorful. The sopaipilla treat was such a bonus at the end of the meal. Johnny, our server, was so kind, so polite, and made our first experience in New Mexico so special!

Lately I have been revisiting restaurants that I considered to be worth another look even though…read morethey are not among my favorites. El Sombrero Patio Cafe is one of them. Today I stopped in for lunch and by noon the El Sombrero was doing a brisk business. As I stated in an earlier review this restaurant when busy can be claustrophobic as the tables are really close to each other. The ambiance is ok...it does have kind of a festive atmosphere in a casual way. For those looking for a nice patio dining experience you will NOT find it here: the patio is nothing to speak of. The food is essentially New Mex cuisine and I have always found its quality to be a mixed bag. The service, on the other hand, I have always found to be pretty good...the staff is personable and efficient. And, so it was today. My two favorite meals at El Sombrero are their stuffed sopapilla plate and their fajitas caliente. Today I ordered the stuffed sopapilla plate which came with two sopapillas stuffed with green chile, some refried beans for a smooth texture and creamy flavor, lettuce, tomato, and two kinds of shredded cheese. In previous years they served it smothered; this time around the sopapillas were not smothered. Maybe they are trying to keep the cost down this way? They never offered me the option. The waiter brought a dish of two types of chips and a little bowl of red salsa to the table. The salsa was spicy and very tasty. It was one of your better salsas. Rate it an "A." The chips were also very good...light, crispy, and a bit salty. Rate the chips a "B+." Within ten minutes the plate of sopapillas was on my table. The sopapillas were fried nicely and had a good flavor. The green chile con carne was good but not among the best. Overall, rate the stuffed sopapillas a "B+." While the price was a little bit high the amount of food was generous. The meal was quite filling. All in all, today's dining experience was quite agreeable. Rate the experience today FOUR STARS...meaning good or well above average. I would rank the El Sombrero Patio Cafe in the top fifteen among Mexican food restaurants around town. That is top 20%. While I have my favorites here, not all the food is top drawer. Like with most restaurants it depends upon what you order. Much of my 2018 review remains accurate. For additional details see below.

When she delivered our food, she never offered to refill my friend's iced tea or my coffee. For almost 5 minutes I tried to get her attention without success. I got up to the counter where she continued chatting with the guy eating at the counter. I mentioned that I wanted more coffee, I was told that they had ran out and if I wanted decaf.
