Sal and team did a complete re-plumb of our 1938 house, replacing all of the pipes from the backyard through the bathroom and installing a water filter and water softener. Not only did they have the lowest quote (by more than $1000), but they provided higher quality materials than were required by code. Not only did they complete the project, but they were able to find and fix plumbing problems that were caused by the complete yahoo who owned our home previously and thought he was a contractor--adjustments to the price were minimal (total $100 extra). I'm not qualified to comment on the job because I have no plumbing experience, but I can tell you our water pressure in the shower, sinks, and toilet has never been better and we've had no major or minor problems after a week. My husband says it's a good job and he worked residential construction for almost a decade, so take the hearsay for what it's worth. Most importantly, Sal and all of his team members were 100% professional throughout the job. They were as unintrusive as they could possible be, they gave us adequate warning when they were going to shut the water off, and they didn't even swear on the job (not really important to me, but since there are people who would appreciate that I'm throwing it in here anyway). All of them were also very careful of our three crazy dogs, making sure they were always penned in before they opened garages, back doors, or any place my crazies could escape. I called S and J plumbing over Memorial Day Weekend. Tried about 7 plumbers and couldn't get anyone to commit. Spoke with Sal and he said that he would make the trip to our house in Lake Arrowhead. We had a slow sink and also had a problem with water shooting up into the other sink when the garbage disposal was turned on. S and J basically rebuilt the plumbing (40 years old) and dialed us in. He had to install an external vent to allow better water flow. Also installed a device to prevent the garbage disposal from blasting water into the other sink. He also fixed a slow sink in our other house next door and fixed the slow water flow in the bathroom. There was never a moment I felt S and J was trying to take advantage of us or add unnecessary work or hardware. We now have a drain that is super fast, clean drain in our other cabin and great water flow in the bathroom. S and J was really great. I wish I found these guys long ago. We had a minor gas leak in our gas fireplace...gas co. Turned us off last night and we've been freezing since out here in Beaumont. Called around this AM and received a quote on hand from right solutions plumbing which were trying to take us for our money. S&J did us justice.. Right Solutions plumbing out of Beaumont quoted 450 just to cut our drywall to close off the leak plus another 200-300 for the part and labor. Came home late one night to water seeping out from concrete at the front of the driveway. My wife was able to call sal and he was out at the house as soon as he could the following day on a Saturday to take a look and provide an estimate. On short notice he was able to assemble a crew together and put a temporary stop on the leak. He came back out on Monday to replace all the rusted out galvanized steel piping with pvc. In addition, crew was a no show on 3 separate occasions. When they did show, they were literally hours late, arriving at 3 instead of 8-10am as promised. Job took 9 days and still is not finished. I was having a problem with my tankless water heater a couple of nights ago, it suddenly began flashing an error code on the display panel and we weren't getting any hot water to the house. My owners manual wasn't very helpful in terms of diagnosing the issue and I found S & L on Yelp that night and gave them a call the next morning. First off, I was impressed with how easy it was to get an appointment, Sal was more than flexible in working around my schedule. Sal and his team got there the same day and quickly diagnosed the issue; turns out a wire was making contact to a piece of metal within unit, causing it to overheat and turn off. It was obvious that the team has extensive knowledge and experience in their field and work; they were methodical in their troubleshooting of the problem and were always professional and friendly. The fix ended being so simple that he ended up charging me the basic service fee only; it is a business after all, and time is money, so I completely understand.
