My wife went there for an estimate on a repair we needed to pay for after a hit-and-run accident, and she was met with complete disrespect. Instead of a warm welcome, a group of men stared at her, and one approached her, outright accusing her of causing the damage herself based on his so-called "years of experience." I also paid the glass company with credit card there was a 20$ fee with the credit card although the glass company gave me back 20$ it was sealed in an envelope but Andy , would not give it to me . he said it was his tip . I said no its not I paid you in full . The 20$ was basically stolen from me ... So he has the 20$ because he apparently needs it more . Didn't want to keep the augment going . To be honest I'm pretty surprised by these good reviews. My family company has used Andy for years now, without issue but Beware, Andy doesn't care much about small personal business, and if you have a small job he will put you on the back burner. I had a $2000 repair that All Andy has to do was call my insurance company, I had to remind him 5 times over a month and I finally gave up. Took my Toyota 4 Runner in for repairs to the front bumper, hood, and headlights. My girlfriend wrecked the front of my beloved car while trying to park. So, another auto repair shop recommended Andy and S&W Garage. When I went in I was happy to know that he was willing to work with me and cut a few corners and just do the body work that I wanted to pay for. So we replaced the hood and headlights and misc. parts that he and I thought were critical. I saved thousands of dollars from doing the full, by the book repair and the car came out great!! My wife took her 1989 Toyota pick up to get a quote for painting. The Hispanic man that she spoke to was very rude and condescending. He said it would take a month to paint, and would cost over $3000. Then he told her that the truck was worthless and there was no point getting it painted. She told him she was not looking to sell it, but just wanted a quote. She happens to really love her truck, and wants to take care of it. I was in a minor accident last week and damaged the bumper on my 3- series BMW. I spoke with the guys at Long Beach Auto Detail to get a referral to an auto-body place and they told me that I probably needed a new bumper cover. Together with the labor, paint and repair to the fog-light, they estimated that it would probably be $1K+ and that I should call my insurance. They referred me to S&W Garage. S&W was able to fix the bumper without replacing the cover and did an impeccable paint job. They also fixed the fog-light that got pushed in during the accident, and all for $600. Been dealing with Andy at S&W for the past 15+ years. Had him paint my 1989 Honda Goldwing motorcycle over 14 years ago. He did it piece by piece and it still looks great some 50,000 mile later. Recently I took him my 1996 Dodge Ram 2500HD pickup. The truck had been neglected since new by sitting outside and uncovered ( too big for my garage). Black is a beautiful color, but shows up every defect and will fade too. Andy and his crew took my truck in and gave it a make over. It looks awesome. Already had several people that thought I had bought a new truck. The price was good and the downtime was reasonable. They even painted the weather worn plastic bumper trim too. I was rear ended and had some damage to my bumper and trunk. The damage was covered by the person who slammed into me's insurance company, so I chose S & W because I believe in supporting local, small businesses and it was down the street from my house. What should have been a reasonably moderate body repair turned into a 5 MONTH LONG nightmare. First of all, it took them 3 weeks to repair just the bumper and I had to call several times just to get them to call me back and tell me what was going on. Very unprofessional.... and when I did call I usually got " What up?" instead of a "Hello, how can I help you?". A few weeks after I got my car back, I was off to a much needed weekend trip and realized my trunk didn't open. Not with the remote, or a key, or even with the emegency latch the HAS to open (we climbed in through the seats). It was jammed SHUT!! I took it back to the garage and after much head scratching they all agreed that it was obiviously from the collision and they missed it. "Uh, we didn't do check the trunk." I was asked to leave it for an hour. I came back 3 hours later, they had the trunk open (the emergency latch handle was mysteriously broken) and said they needed a part and they ordered it from the dealer. For the time being I had to "Press down on the trunk while turning the key to open the trunk". That only worked sometimes. Over the next few months this "fix" moved at a snails pace as I dropped the car off at least 5 times. Finally, in March, (the initial repair was done in November), the trunk opened with the key and needed to be taken to the dealer to have another part installed and to be reset so the remote would work. It took a month for the part to arrive, I took the initiative and called the dealership myself and had them call ME when the part came in seeing that they NEVER wrote down my phone number. In fact I did MOST of the work in getting my car from A to B, and communicating. Now my trunk works again, although the trunk door is still slightly off center from the collision and the emergency latch has a crack it from being forced open, but it wasn't worth the HELL to have them fix it. They do good body work, but their customer service sucks, it takes Forever to get your car back, and if you have a newer foreign car like a Volkswagen, BMW, Volvo, etc.... I would suggest taking it to a body that specializes in those models. I know will if this ever happen again!! read more

I went to this shop because it was recommended to me so i assumed it would be a good experience, i was COMPLETELY WRONG! When i showed up i stood there for a couple minutes waiting to be helped while the 2 employees continued what they were doing until 1 of them finally looked at me and said "do you need something?" In a rude tone of voice then when i showed him.the problem with my car which was a minor dent in my front bumper he just said "so what do you want?" I explained what i needed and he said it would cost 600$ and when i asked why he just said "bc thats how much i said it will cost " and he refused to explain anything about the proccess or price then finally just walked away!
