If you are hungry for delicious Mexican Birra then you've got to go to Carlitos! I had lunch today and it was so yummy. The staff is so friendly and helpful too! You can dine outside, order to go or there are a few seats inside. We will definitely be returning

I LOVE this place so much! The staff is so welcoming and friendly, the food is great quality and the restaurant itself is a fun vibe. We ordered birria tacos, Baja shrimp tacos, hot cheeto esquete with the watermelon lime agua fresca and omg it was the best meal! (They clearly make their agua Frescas with actual fruit, not premade stuff) We're looking forward to visiting again to try more food and their paletas at their patio

I was across the parking lot at another business, and I was pleased to see this nearby. I had no idea where this was located and I kept seeing reviews for the food. Now I finally had a chance to try it myself. This brightly colored business was calling my name. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by the friendliest waitress ever. She walked me through the menu of enticing options and even let me know about the taco combo. That includes 3 tacos and a canned drink. So you get to try different options. I got one queso birria, one asada, and one cheesey asada. I got the avocado sauce on the side since I'm unsure if I would like it. I also got the cucumber lemonade aqua fresca. I got home and dug in. The tacos were filled nicely and the avocado sauce is really good. I don't normally like avocado but I put the sauce on every taco. The birria consomme was a delicious addition to the taco. I think I would have liked my asada a little less well done. This is my personal preference only. I probably would try the fajita cut more. Overall the food was good and I look forward to coming back. The menu has something for everyone and the price-to-portion ratio is a good value. The cucumber lemonade was delicious and so refreshing. I am upset that I hadn't tried them sooner. They also have a nice outdoor seating area which is great for a summer night.

I haven't eaten this much Mexican food since I found you all. It's becoming a weekly satisfaction. LOL The ladies who work there are the sweetest, and the food is always amazing. My goodness, I love what you've brought to San Antonio. I simply can't go anywhere else. My two favorite tacos are Quesa Birria and cheesy shrimp fajitas. THANK YOU!! You're Simply The Best!! For anyone new trying this place, they take phone call orders as well as orders from people at the counter. They can get very busy, but believe me, it's worth the wait. If they are extremely busy, they will give you a heads up on the wait time. There's no sitting arrangements inside. The tables are outside and they will deliver your food outside.

Birria quesadilla on a corn tortilla

This place is excellent! I went with the Birria quesadilla on a corn tortilla. It was the small option and I can't imagine the big flower tortilla! The flavor was incredible and the sour cream and guacamole on the side was great for dipping. To top that off the staff were helpful and very conversational. If you're anywhere nearby, you should definitely check it out.

The scenery is always awesome and the server is amazing and super nice. This is some of the best food I've ever had. Beautiful place.

The food is amazing if you don't want something really heavy or that's not enough SA Carlitos way is the place the food is filling but not over filling. It's satisfying and you'll be glad you made the visit. Carlos answered every question I had with no hesitation he was very kind as well. Food was made fresh he advised me of how long it would take to cook as well. They offered buy one get one free on the fruit cups which were amazing. It's pretty clean inside and out the decorations are lively and fun. The establishment is a great place to visit.

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.

The real issue came at the cash register. The woman handling payments was, unfortunately, not kind at all. In fact, "rude" would be the most generous description. It actually took my wife about ten minutes just to complete the payment for a couple of ice creams, which felt longer than the ice cream itself took to melt. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching how she interacted with other employees. It wasn't just unprofessional--it was the kind of scene you'd expect in a low-budget psychological thriller where you start wondering if someone should call for backup. So while the ice cream itself and the front-line staff were great, the overall experience was overshadowed by the atmosphere at the register. Small, crowded, and unkind is not a combination that brings us back. We'll pass next time.
