Went for a Friday nite dinner...totally impressed. Now, the ambiance is a little deli-like. The staff was great, super friendly, informative and happy to help. Loved everything we ate....and we didn't hold back. It's always difficult for me to limit my temptation at Thai restaurants. I've had take-out, and liked it from here, but the fresh in-house dinner was simply the way to go. It was truly delicious and wonderfully fresh. Several appies and two main dishes...a couple of thai iced teas later...I was very satisfied and feeling quite happy and full. Prices were appropriate and portions were large and sumptuous. What a wonderful find! A beautiful, clean environment to indulge in delicious Thai cuisine. The Tom Yum soup was superb, with rich and nuanced flavors and large, plump shrimp. Steamed pork gyozo was accompanied with a better-than-average dipping sauce, and the yellow curry was a surprising twist on one of my standard favorites, with pineapple instead of potatoes and bright, crisp veggies. Poy, our server, was polite, friendly, and prompt and the music was a delightful eclectic melange that added to the dining experience rather than detracting from it. Being that Sa-Tang is BYOB, it cuts down on the dinner cost and enables me to bring one of my favorite wines with me. I will definitely be returning when I am in Wakefield. read more

I had dinner here with my parents on Saturday night. The servers were very nice and the food was prompt and delicious. We had a shrimp dish, which i don't eat but others liked, and one of the special wide ride noodle dishes and satay. One correction to past reviews: this place IS NOT BYOB. I love everything about Sa-Tang! My only regret is that I can not afford to eat there every day! The food is excellent! Everything we've (friends included) eaten has been sooo... delicious. Every meal has such a nice presentation with lots of colorful vegies. My current favorites are the pad kee mow, spicy basil fried rice with shrimp, and the green curry with shrimp. The waitstaff are all very friendly and accomodating. The interior of the restaurant has been completely renovated and it came out beautifully. Great job all around! read more

Almost a hidden gem. This place is excellent, the food is great, the place is extremely clean and it's BYOB. I did see a sign that said $4 a table for BYOB though, probably because they supply the drink ware. The service was great and the food was even better and everything is priced right where it should be. I didn't leave complaining about anything, but my wife did because she couldn't stop my fork from grabbing food off her plate. Can't wait to go again. read more

I eat Thai food often, and know what I like. 4 members of my family got take-out from Sa-Tang tonight, and it was all very good. We got shrimp pad-thai - very good, could have been a little more flavorful but not bad at all. The veggie Sa-Tang fried rice was also very good, as was the beef garden healthy (mixed veggies). I got the pad kee mow with chicken, which looked like it was going to be really spicy due to the red flecks all through the sauce, but it turned out to have great flavor with just the right amount of heat. All very fresh tasting, was ready quickly, and they accommodated our special requests without a problem (and didn't give me attitude when I insisted on checking it before I took it home). Had dinner here on a Saturday evening. The staff are very friendly and attentive (but not over the top) and I thought the food was very high calibre, with great presentation. They also have the nice ability to customize the level of hot & spicy you want, which I appreciated. I order the Salmon in Green and Dumplings as a starter. The food came out in a very reasonable time, and I thought both plates were delicious and very true to the food I've had during travels to Thailand. I went to Sa-Tang with a coworker after hearing recommendations from a friend. Since I went for lunch, I did the lunch special where you get a salad, appetizer and lunch portion entree for around $10. It was an excellent deal, however I did not like the food. The chicken satay was alright. The pad thai had a way too sweet, almost slimy sauce. When I am eating thai food, I look for a balanced (sweet, salty, sour, spicy) flavor profile. You know it isn't very good when you don't want to eat the leftovers you brought home...I would not go back. read more

We went for dinner on Tuesday night and we were delighted. This unassuming thai restaurant was bright modern cheerful and spotlessly clean. (so was the bathroom) The staff greeted us immediately and gave fast friendly informative and efficient service. (plus she was cute as a button.) The spring roll and cream cheese wrap apps were out of this world, fresh perfectly cooked, delish. He had pad thai, I had pumpkin curry. The food was perfectly cooked, beautifully plated and served. Just checked this place out for lunch. I had the cashew chicken stir fry with rice and my friend had one of the lunch specials, fried rice. Service was very attentive and quick. My stir fry was delicious, good quality chicken and fresh tasty veggies. Also had one of my friend's cream cheese appetizers, which was delicious. Similar to crab Rangoon, but tastier. read more

I went there last night with the girls. We like going to BYO places as it keeps the cost down. So, why only 2 stars? Because the service was absolutely terrible!! The food was delicious, we got several appetizers and each got a main course, and we all enjoyed every bite. But I think the waitress hated us for some reason, because she ignored us something awful until it was time for her to take our payment. I could go on and on about just how bad the service was and give several examples, but I think anyone who reads this will get it. I would get take out from here because the food really is good, but I can't imagine ever sitting down for dinner there again. read more

I have since tried several other Thai food restaurants and none compare. It has actually ruined me for other restaurants I always say "this isn't as good as sa tang". My first time eating from Sa-Tang and it was the worst thai experience I've had. Ordered the chefs recommended ChChee & Teriyaki Chicken for takeout. First, someone hadn't properly sealed the Teriyaki Chicken. Some of the sauce had spilled out soaking through the bag and into my car carpet, but that could be cleaned so I was not too upset at first. When I had tried the Teriyaki the sauce was VERY watery - even after I had tried mixing in the rice the teriyaki taste didn't seem to soak into chicken - it just kind of was a watered sauce that covered it and the vegetables. Same goes with the ChChee the sauce was very watery and had a unpleasant nutty taste and smell to it - not particularly spicy - the salmon seemed bland (It was my first time trying ChChee, so it'spossible that the dish just isn't for me). About twenty minutes previous to eating, my boyfriend got an extremely upset stomach - he hadn't eaten more than half of a dish and some edamame, Maybe I had simply been the "unlucky" customer. But I was surprsingly disappointed. The food was edible but based on my first experience, it was a waste of my money. I won't be recommending or returning to Sa-Tang. read more
