The parking lot isn't very large, but it seems to be enough. The entrance is up a ramp from the parking lot at the street side of the building. Once inside turn right into the bar area, then turn left to the hostess stand at the back. We were seated in a large booth that looks newly upholstered. Everything in the dining room looks to be in good condition. The menu is large and include both 'lunch combination plates' which are smaller portions and 'combination plates' which include more food. You can also order family style or al la carte. The waitress came over with waters, duck sauce and fried wonton to munch on while you look over the menu. That sauce on those wonton are a tasty, sweet snack. She took our drink order and answered a couple of questions about the menu. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. My husband tells me this hot and sour soup is his favorite. I don't eat that, so I can't expand. My combination meal includes a soup and I ordered the egg drop soup because it is a vegetable broth. It tastes like. . . egg. I guess that's right? I've never had it before. The spring roll with my combination meal was crispy and filled with veg. The mixed veg meal was loaded with pea pods, water chestnut, mushroom, carrot and cabbage. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. Although combo meals normally come with pork fried rice, they do allow substitutions and I got the vegetable fried rice instead which was very nice. The ladies room, is off the dining room, before the kitchen. Step down into an area with a counter and mirror. I don't remember a diaper station. The toilet and sink are in a room off this area. The door is misaligned and you have to pull the door UP in order to engage the door knob locking mechanism. Otherwise anyone can just walk in on you. I have been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and this one is good. It's been around for a long while and my SO loves it. I cannot recommend it for Christmas Eve as they limit the selections (in order to handle the volume, I understand, but I can't get what I need) but for lunch, dinner or take away, it's a fine choice. read more

Five stars all the way! I've been coming here for probably 15 years and I've never had a bad meal! I have a pretty high bar when it comes to Asian food but let me tell you, this place delivers on flavor, quantity, and service!! Upon walking in, it definitely felt like an older, little run-down restaurant with a wooden bar in front and I think droopy curtains at the windows (dare I say sketchy, but typical I suppose for a Chinese restaurant). Felt like an old saloon. I walked in struggling to get my stroller in through the door with one hand, baby in my other, and the door slamming into the stroller. What seemed like regulars at the bar kindly asked if I needed help but I was good. Restaurant was kinda empty at 3pm-ish on a Friday so I was seated very quickly. Dining room is a decent size with booths and tables. Seemed like there was one server at the time, and she was awesome! Not one of those over bubbly folks, just really accommodating and easy-going. One thing I did notice though that sorta surprised me was that I didn't see a single Asian person (thought maybe the staff might have at least one, but then again, this is Wickford, RI, and I also only saw the server and bartender). I let her know I was in a rush to order, eat, and get a dish to go. From the time she left my table to the time I was out the door, it was probably around 20 min and she was always one step ahead of me with getting me to go boxes. Food was ON POINT!! First, the complimentary fried noodle and duck sauce got my palate warmed up. That duck sauce is amazing. Then the House Wings that I had read about came out. Wow! Crispy, a little spicy, very saucy the way I like, and just all around BOMB! After a couple of those, food came out and OMG, I pretty much over-ordered as the plates were filled to the brim. I needed to bring home leftovers but wow, it was enough to feed 3-4 adults. I got the Orange Chicken and Combination Chicken Lo Mein to eat there. The Orange Chicken could've been a little crispier, but went well with the Lo Mein, which was so savory and loaded with well-charred green onions and other veggies that I love. It came with a huge egg roll (almost too big that it started to come apart when eating, but hey, not gonna complain with getting more food than mess) and a large side of fried rice. I think the rice was a little heavy maybe on rice vinegar as it did have a little bit of a tart scent but it was very good. I was so pleased with my leftovers!! I also got a regular Chicken Lo Mein to go in a quart sized box. My server got me extra ramekins for the duck sauce and ranch I had, and even had the wax paper envelopes for my egg roll and fried noodle appetizer. She had the stapler ready and all! She was also so nice to give me detailed directions on checking out Wickford Village. Overall, really solid Chinese place. I debated between 4 and 5 stars as there were some minor flavor elements I think could've been improved, but the service is what tipped it to 5 for me (I'm also weary there are better Chinese places in the area). Not great, but not bad at all. I thought this was a decent or average meal. Lo mein was good, had tender strips of beef, and nicely seasoned mushrooms. The fried rice could've been better -- it lacked in meat, taste, and wasn't dark enough. The egg roll had a good flavor. You know how sometimes you get that seasoning taste from one and it can be overbearing? That's not the case here. It could've used some more meat though. This was definitely more of a spring roll disguised as an egg roll. The fried dumplings were some of the best I've ever had -- really great tasting and not too doughy, and the meat filling was very tasty. My friend ordered the the kung pao chicken and the house special soup, neither of which I tried. However, I was told the chicken had a good kick/spice was to it and the soup was thick in broth texture and had a lot of good flavor with its contents. The soup contained crabmeat, baby corn, carrots, pea pods, onions, eggs, chicken, and shrimp. It was lacking on the noodles or wonton though -- non-existent. Lastly, the wonton soup was bland. THE MAI THAI Pagoda is a great place for lunch or dinner - the service is fantastic, and the food is consistently great! They have a standard Chinese food menu, and the Chicken Lo Mein is my favorite. They make some pretty amazing cocktails also. It's a great place to bring friends or family. The interior is set up as a small bar area with two dining rooms. The dining rooms are mostly spacious booths, so it's a very comfortable experience. They seem to do a large amount of take-out business as well. Now for the show stopper: the Mai Tai!!!! Might be the most delicious Polynesian drink I have ever experienced. I don't eat here often but sometimes I need some variety in the very barren North Kingstown lunch offerings category. Even though the building could use some freshening up on the outside (and probably the inside), it seems pretty clean overall. I have never sat in the restaurant part. I typically sit at the bar and order take-out. The lunch options are good to include combination plates and lunch specials. All provide more than enough food for a lunch portion so I usually have leftovers for another time (which usually means my wife commanders them but that is a post for a different social media site). First things, first. The bottled beer is always very cold. So they have their priorities in the right place. They also let you tinker with how dishes are put together. You can have whatever sauce you want substituted (I think). One of my favorites is the lo mein with 'Amazing Sauce'. it adds a bit more flavor to a fairly standard dish. They don't skimp on the meat either if you add pork/chicken/beef. I have asked for my lo mein spicy and I am really starting to think it is in the Chinese Food restaurant handbook to never-ever, make lo mein spicy. I try it everywhere I go and no dice. Pagoda Inn does come the closest. Speaking of spicy, the hot-n-sour soup I had today WAS spicy. I was very excited. it wasn't so much that I needed a glass of water to help finish it off, but just enough to make it worth while. Their eggrolls are pretty big and pretty standard. Nothing exciting about them but I do prefer theirs to a lot of places around Coventry/NK. The worst part about this place is turning left out of the parking lot can be a bit dicey. head on over and give them a shot if you havn't tried them out. Pagoda is your average Chinese American restaurant for easy take out or sit down. It's a good amount of average food for the money. I enjoy the head hunters and the scorpion bowls. The service is average. Myself and others that I know all miss Kyle. His customer service skills were above par and looked forward to having him as a server when we stopped in. I like that they allow you to substitute on the combination platters. I'm very disappointed with this place. Despite being in service for years, I find this place is not living up to its potential as a town staple. The customer service experience with takeout is subpar. They often have gotten my order wrong, and I've had to drive back to correct it. I find their quality to be a bit skimpy for the price as well. Twice we've ordered the chicken chow mein only to find that there's WAY more vegetables than chicken. We had to search for the chicken. We found the fried rice to be very bland. We tried the chicken and the pork fried rice, and both times had to search for the chicken/pork. Also, they don't give you anywhere near the amount of noodles for the chow mein that would be considered reasonable. They have us 1 small bag for a large order.
