My boyfriend and i were celebrating Valentine's Day, the weekend after, out of town (Dallas) where we have gone many many times. We wanted to try something new so we tried saaya. Extremely rude hostess and bar staff. Waitress was kind and the best part of the experience. We got a hookah and they came early to pick it up. I asked if i could just finish my drink and enjoy my hookah and i will be quick. They said no and took it.. while a group of women next to us they allowed to keep theirs. This was a fun place!! It's a lounge with mostly middle eastern music played by a DJ, they do play other dance hits, too. The place is so pretty...indoors and outdoors. They have hookahs, food, and music! Getting past the bouncer at the door can come with some difficulties. He's selective on who he lets in based off demeanor, attire... if you approach him very nicely and maturely he will reciprocate. We got in with no problem. The only qualm I have with this place is that the food is mediocre. If you like middle eastern food, their food is flawed and not very flavorful. The only item I enjoyed was the popcorn chicken. I went to go eat there Sunday night, I had a reservation with some girlfriends and let me just start off by saying that the service here is BAD.. they need to work on the accommodation for people... it's the second time I've been here and I'm actually disappointed this time.. the hooka is super harsh not good at all.. I don't know what was going on but the women's restroom where all out of service.. a funky smell started coming out and it smelled like sewer water.. it's smelled super bad... whenever I left I had parked my car outside of saaya, in the parking lot behind and there was dookie water coming out.. Extremely rude hostesses. We booked outside seating to enjoy hookah but we never got to sit outside. They gave us weird reasons as to why they couldn't seat us outside include calling the reservation a "glitch" on open table. One of the hostesses said it was just a preference (completely untrue). They were clearly being selective in who they make sit outside. I get it's a new, cool spot but the arrogance and mismanagement was a big turn off. Our server was great though, the only highlight from our night. Please spend your time and money somewhere else where they value "normal" people more. Almost felt discriminated. read more

My friends and I were super excited about going to Saaya tonight, had RESERVATIONS but left extremely disappointed when the bouncers at the door wouldn't let my finacee in because he was wearing shorts. There is NO where on the website that states any kind of dress code. We would have understood if not minutes later, as we were walking away, they let a group of girls in with one of them wearing denim shorts. And when we asked why they were let in, we were told that she was an investor..wow..if she was really investing, she should have invested in not wearing denim shorts herself to follow the "strict" dress code. For a place that proclaims itself to be an "air of invitation" on their website, it should be changed to an air of invitation for only specific people. It is definitely not an oasis for all. The management of this place has a history of this with their other businesses and not letting certain races into their clubs. But seeing as how you're opening up a Mediterranean place with halal food and hookah, you would think you wouldn't treat the brown clientele like garbage. The hostesses and the manager were some of the rudest people I've ever come across in the restaurant industry. They messed up our reservation and then had the audacity to say it was a "request" not a reservation. And then didn't even apologize. The manager shrugged his shoulders like it wasn't his problem. We had a reservation here for our party of 12 on a Saturday night at 10pm for outdoor seating. When you enter the doors of Saaya, you no longer feel like you're in dallas. We were bummed to find out from the hostess that outdoor seating is not guaranteed and they placed us inside. No apologies, no regard, that was a little weird. They tried to tell me that this is the case at every restaurant, but I've never had that happen to me. Anyway, unlike the other reviews, we actually had great service inside. Our server was attentive and kind, and made sure our food and drinks came out quickly. We did family style apps and shared the platter as a group and it was great. The drinks were good too. We wrapped up at our table and enjoyed the outdoor bar after. Hope to be back once the crowds die down and when we can actually get an outdoor table. read more

Great time. We visited on a Sat around 2pm. Like most reviews, I agree the ambiance is amazing. It is a whole vibe. We ordered two Margaritas which were on point. The bartender, our waitress, and the manager Alyssa were attentive and kind. Special shout-out to Alyssa for briefly talking to us and engaging in our silly banter. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back a few hours later and had another friend meet us there. Oh, and the hummus was so good. This place is for people who enjoy the finer things in life. They say that it's an Oasis or an escape which is exactly what it is. You feel like you are Dubai instead of Dallas. The food and drink was good (beef shawarma paired with Dallas to Damascus). I'm a bit of an introvert and do stuff alone, I'm sure it would be a more enjoyable experience with a group of people. The only thing I didn't really like was I felt that it was slightly overpriced and that the music is a little too loud which can be difficult for hearing conversation. Be aware of Hannah!! To begin with , me and my husband were very excited to see this place out. Upon arrival, our experience went completely down hill. The lady at the desk, specifically Hannah, had the upmost disrespect following an attitude. Our reservation was at 8:30 PM up and present. Hannah proceeded to tell us there is a 20 minute wait. How if we had a reservation. Mind you!!! She then proceeded to add that we had to wait until the 9:00-9:30 for the people to show up to be seated and if they hadn't shown up then we can be served a table. Sounds like discrimination to me. Anyways the manager at the end of the night made up for it. However the vibe was killed upon arrival. Sadly I do not think we will ever come back. For $38 we got 5 tiny small pieces each of beef and chicken on a bed of rice. Meat was overcooked so it was dry and chewy. Our bill was over $100 and not worth the price tag. We were seated immediately as we made reservations for the dining area. Our waitress, Evan, couldn't have been better! She was very personable and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE PLAGUE !! We had a reservation for 5 people on a Saturday night for outdoor patio. We got there 5 min before our reservation,upon arrival we were told that they have overbooked so they gonna seat us inside. We realized that we can't do hookah inside which is the only reason we came here but we're told that they will seat us outside ASAP. Two hours later we were told that they have a table for us outside at 12:25 we were seated. For starters, my fiancé and I were super stoked about going out for date night. I had been seeing this place all over Instagram and thought, "it's cute, looks vibey, let's try it out". I made a reservation and waited 3 weeks for our night out. An hour before our reservation I attempted to reach out to confirm our table sitting and to hopefully make adjustments. I called 3 times with no answer, which immediately made me wonder how the rest of the night was going to go. Upon entering, the hostesses weren't "warm and welcoming" it felt very cold and pretentious. As we were sat at our table our server said hello then immediately goes "oh, um I'll be right back" before taking a drink order. She then comes back and takes our order and we think the coast is clear. Then we asked a few questions on the menu and we ordered the Sumac Fries, which she mis heard and brought a completely different dish. The dish was dropped at the table and i was confused, honestly and she assured me it was what I ordered. I knew better, so we waited and didn't touch the dish. She came back and I asked for clarification on the dish. She then tried to convince me or gaslight me into thinking I was wrong for bringing attention to the dish I originally ordered. It made for a very uncomfortable situation. They brought out the appropriate dish, we ate, which was subpar ATLEAST. Luckily, they comped the wrong item and we were discounted that. The Casamigos tequila sodas were $14/ per and we had 5 totaling $70. WHO THE HELL CHARGES THAT!! Like, seriously? For the subpar environment. We arrived and immediately could feel the vibes before we even got to the door. 2 girls were outside getting told they couldn't come inside for skirts that were too short (they looked like they could wear these outfits to school/ not inappropriate at all) upon walking to the door the manager immediately told me he "saw my genitals as I was getting out of my uber so we couldn't come in" my friend continued to look at their website and proceeded to see a slew of bizarre rules including "no wigs" which we expressed was discriminatory towards a large group of individuals.
