I came here with two of my friends on a Saturday night for food, as one of them saw the place on Instagram and liked the vibes. The ambiance was very nice and it felt like we were transported to a foreign country. We ordered the chicken kebab, beef kebab, and one of the pizzas -- the food was pretty good but expensive for the price. The reason I am rating this place so low is because, as all the other reviews mentioned, the service is TRASH. Our food took an entire hour to come, and was lukewarm so we think that the bartender just forgot about it and left it there. We ended up being there for a while because it took them SO long to bring out our food, and people kept coming up to us and asking us to move while we were eating because "we had been there for a while" even though it was THEIR fault our food came out late. In addition, literally right after two of us paid our bill, the bartender came around and told us that he would PULL OUR CHAIRS if we didn't leave in the next five seconds even though one of my friends was still in the process of paying, and my other friend was confused because we definitely didn't think we heard him correctly, and he made her trip because he pulled her chair while she was in her seat. I'm baffled that the bartenders at this place were SO rude to us and I will never be back. Management better fix how the staff treats their customers, otherwise this place will not stay open for long. read more

I, along with I'm assuming everyone else, couldn't wait for Saaya to open. There is no other place like it in the DFW area. Hopes were high for me. I made a reservation on Opentable for a Saturday evening. Arrived on time, the gentleman at the door started up a convo regarding my name that was cute. Once we approached the hostess desk, we did have to wait about 5-8 mins for the group in front of us to resolve their issue. One of the hostess' seated us near the hookah station. We looked over the menu, we didn't really want food but the main reason we came was for hookah! The waitress came back, put our drink and hookah order in. Drinks and hookah come and then we were told there is a minimum $ amount to spend per person because we were seated outside. There were only 2 of us and the min amount was $50 per person. We just went for hookah and a few drinks. To me, $50 per person, is a lot to spend for what appeared to be mediocre food. I don't like to be unprepared. No where on their menu, website or reservation did it list this "policy." My guest and I kindly informed the waitress that we were leaving once we finished our hookah, that honestly wasn't worth it. I make better hookah at home. I left a few messages for the manager, nothing. I then took to IG and had my issue addressed with the owner. He even stated that wasn't a policy but hasn't done anything about it. I really feel like the color of our skin was a factor and you can't tell me other wise. I've given the business more than enough time to right their wrong. If you are black and decide to dine at this establishment, be prepared to be served a side of discrimination, with a dash of racism. read more

Amazing food!! The vibe here is spectacular. My favorite is the saaya ultimate feast platter!

Overall, Saaya is a great place for a girl's night out! From decor to the meal, the environment feels like the Mediterranean found its way to deep ellum. We started our meal with the dip trio and honestly it's easy to please me with any chip and dip combo. The dip trio consisted of hummus, tzatziki, and my favorite dip (the spicy feta) paired with lavash and pita bread. If you like variety, this is definitely a go-to and the theme of our meal. My drink for the night was the Ombra of Anubis which is a Mezcal based drink which I really enjoyed. The entree was the highlight of the meal, for our party of 4 we ordered the Saaya Ultimate Feast which honestly gives you a nice taste of almost everything on the menu. I mean look at the picture! It was super filling and everything paired well. I would go back again. I wish I could give it a 4.7 due to minor service issues. read more

The place is super cute! However, the service could definitely use a little more work. We reserved for an outside reservation for the hookah. When we got there the host was pretty rude about it and said that was only a suggestion and they would not be honoring our outside reservation because they had larger parties who paid a deposit to sit outside. How is that fair when we didn't get that option ? So I asked to speak with the manager. He did kindly honored our requested after we showed him our reservation specifically stated outside. Our server was really nice. I believe her name was Amy. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us to order. In my opinion this place is really nice for just pictures. The drinks didn't taste like they had any alcohol in it and the food was ehh okay. My friends said there chicken on the kabob was really dry, however, mine tasted okay. I went to go eat there Sunday night, I had a reservation with some girlfriends and let me just start off by saying that the service here is BAD.. they need to work on the accommodation for people... it's the second time I've been here and I'm actually disappointed this time.. the hooka is super harsh not good at all.. I don't know what was going on but the women's restroom where all out of service.. a funky smell started coming out and it smelled like sewer water.. it's smelled super bad... whenever I left I had parked my car outside of saaya, in the parking lot behind and there was dookie water coming out.. In Dallas for SMU family weekend and my daughter recommended this restaurant. Went with a large group and we ordered a huge variety of items and all was absolutely delicious. This was a fun place!! It's a lounge with mostly middle eastern music played by a DJ, they do play other dance hits, too. The place is so pretty...indoors and outdoors. They have hookahs, food, and music! Getting past the bouncer at the door can come with some difficulties. He's selective on who he lets in based off demeanor, attire... if you approach him very nicely and maturely he will reciprocate. We got in with no problem. The only qualm I have with this place is that the food is mediocre. If you like middle eastern food, their food is flawed and not very flavorful. The only item I enjoyed was the popcorn chicken. Extremely rude hostesses. We booked outside seating to enjoy hookah but we never got to sit outside. They gave us weird reasons as to why they couldn't seat us outside include calling the reservation a "glitch" on open table. One of the hostesses said it was just a preference (completely untrue). They were clearly being selective in who they make sit outside. I get it's a new, cool spot but the arrogance and mismanagement was a big turn off. My friends and I were super excited about going to Saaya tonight, had RESERVATIONS but left extremely disappointed when the bouncers at the door wouldn't let my finacee in because he was wearing shorts. There is NO where on the website that states any kind of dress code. We would have understood if not minutes later, as we were walking away, they let a group of girls in with one of them wearing denim shorts. And when we asked why they were let in, we were told that she was an investor..wow..if she was really investing, she should have invested in not wearing denim shorts herself to follow the "strict" dress code. For a place that proclaims itself to be an "air of invitation" on their website, it should be changed to an air of invitation for only specific people. It is definitely not an oasis for all. The management of this place has a history of this with their other businesses and not letting certain races into their clubs. But seeing as how you're opening up a Mediterranean place with halal food and hookah, you would think you wouldn't treat the brown clientele like garbage. The hostesses and the manager were some of the rudest people I've ever come across in the restaurant industry. They messed up our reservation and then had the audacity to say it was a "request" not a reservation. And then didn't even apologize. The manager shrugged his shoulders like it wasn't his problem. We had a reservation here for our party of 12 on a Saturday night at 10pm for outdoor seating. When you enter the doors of Saaya, you no longer feel like you're in dallas. We were bummed to find out from the hostess that outdoor seating is not guaranteed and they placed us inside. No apologies, no regard, that was a little weird. They tried to tell me that this is the case at every restaurant, but I've never had that happen to me. Anyway, unlike the other reviews, we actually had great service inside. Our server was attentive and kind, and made sure our food and drinks came out quickly. We did family style apps and shared the platter as a group and it was great. The drinks were good too.
