After arriving, I was surprised to see how nice the set up was at Speer's BBQ new location. Big floor to ceiling windows overlook the golf courses putting and front nine holes. Beyond the views of the golf course, the rolling Sierra Mountains can also be seen in the background distance. The seating area at Speer's is abundant. Lots of four person tables and even a bar seating area with elevated, single seats. Not mentioned on their menu, I ordered a Tri Tip, grilled cheese sandwich which came with a side. I opted for their backed beans. My sandwich was really tasty. Lots of meat and cheese melted around it and just the right amount of BBQ sauce to know you were eating a BBQ sandwich. SCENE: Speer BBQ is located in the rural, Southend of Tracy at the Tracy Gold Course. If you drive South on Chrisman Road, just follow it until you dead end, beyond the 33 and Highway 580 freeways. By the time it arrived, my rice and beans were already cold. Maybe they were overwhelmed by the Valentine's crowd, but the food and service were disappointing. I won't be returning I'll be sticking with La Parilla for molcajetes.
