Spicy salmon, Philadelphia and ginza roll. All good quality for the money. Tasty.

No frills sushi. This is really a 3.5/5 Stars place. Unfortunately yelp does not have a half the star option. This is a dine in review. Staff: Great, friendly and patient. Did not have to ask for refills of water, done automatically. Good staff is very much welcomed in the cozy restaurant. Nothing really much to improve on here except when food is brought to the table. Sometimes the entree is brought out prior to the appetizer. That's not really what customers expect when planning their dinning experience. Not the biggest complaint in the world. Sushi: Very consistent throughout the years. Tasty but nothing too fancy here, nor should they be. It's meant to keep prices down and for the price and value, it's fine. Regular rolls are between $2.50 to $3.00 which is really a bargain. You really can't mess them up. Ginza, Philadelphia, spicy salmon are some of my personal favorites. The dinner/lunch boxes are really great for the money. However, when ordering a teriyaki option within the box, a lot of sauce is used. It should be a favor not a downed in sauce. I'm sure if knowing this, you could ask for less and they would. Shrimp/beef and white fish teriyaki sit on a bed of onions. All good. Appetizers: This can be hit or miss. The "pizza(salmon)" and yummy shrimp is great. Both very saucy. Do not by any means get the bbq fish balls. Their quality was worse than microwaveable and I'm sure is not a popular menu item. They were rubbery, no crispness. Seating: Never await and when I went Sunday evening no one was inside but plenty of delivery orders. It's a nice beach option. Bathroom: I enjoy a restaurant with a clean bathroom. There is an air freshener, paper towels, always clean. I also dig that purple wall art with the lady on there. I'll continue to come here and like it for what it is. A simple place to grab a quick bite.

Salmon skin roll, white tuna and cucumber roll

Why do I come back here?? Service is terrible. The waitress actually gave my friend an attitude when she had the nerve to ask for a fork!! And someone please correct me but all the research that I've done has shown me that it is not an insult to anybody's culture when an American asks for a fork in an Asian restaurant!! The salmon skin roll was super dry even with the sticky sweet sauce they poured on it. The white tuna cucumber roll was surprisingly fresh this time and had a good amount of tuna. But having to practically set ourselves on fire to get the waitresses attention when there were only three other occupied tables in the entire restaurant it's something that'll keep me from ever coming back to this place again.

Disappointing I've been eating from here for years was excited to get sushi since they opened back because of covid. the sushi tastes like a shoe the panko in the sushi is stale and hard. the rice is cold my yellow tale roll looks old its horrible they let the quality go to shit

Super cheap spot to hit up in Brighton beach. Have heard mixed reviews but have always had a good experience for the most part. $2.50 for a 8 piece roll you cant go wrong!

Fresh sashimi. The crispy duck roll is amazing. Been here 3 times during our short stay in NY. Can't get enough.

Tables are abit small especially when meals are always serve in large platters. The table barely fit all the dishes so they had to remove the condiment tray to make space but it's not ideal with the squirming kids. I suggest changing some of the plate sizing to better fit the tables. The condiment tray have 4 sauces available: ketchup, sweet & sour sauce or is it sweet chili sauce?, hot sauce and low sodium soy sauce. They also do not provide the claypot sweetened soy sauce. The only soy sauce available (is low sodium) but that makes the dish saltier. Great service and good food. The baked rice dish- do not recommend. My friend said HK Tea is better. The sizzling platters are soo goood. Of the claypot rice, the classic pork ribs is the best. Chicken one was too dry for hubby's taste. The HK milk tea taste malty which one of us enjoy and another did not. Their regular rice plate portion size is abit small. The noodles are abit bland if you order that instead of rice to go with the sizzling plate. Veggies are just steamed and healthy but wish they were seasoned. The condiment tray should also include salt and pepper.

Dipping their toes in so many different arenas might actually be their detriment because they're going for everything while not excelling in most. I would rather they cut down on some dishes and make sure all are great instead. I absolutely love their Thai fried chicken, which is so affordable (8 pieces for $12), and tastes so crispy on the outside but so moist and flavorful on the inside. It comes with a tangy fish sauce, but you can add different green curry and/or red curry for 50 cents each. I like it best with the fish sauce. However, that's the Thai fried chicken is the only dish I absolutely love from this place. Everything else is very mediocre, which is unfortunate. 6 rolls bento - $15; comes with california roll, spicy tuna roll, lobster salad roll, salmon avocado roll, eel cucumber roll, shrimp tempura, kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken. It's a lot of food for $15, and the sushi actually tastes decent. The kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken are just tiny portions, but the fried chicken are like nuggets and taste really bad. 4/5 Mushroom noodles - $10; It's so rare to find such affordable e-fu noodles but sadly, it tastes nothing like what e-fu noodles should taste like. I wouldn't even know that they're supposed to be e-fu noodles if I just blindly tasted. I would not get this again here. 3/5 Pad see ew beef - $13; Again, like the mushroom noodles, it didn't taste like pad see ew. It's missing that sweetness and charred factor that's usually present in pad see ew. 3/5 Pad Kra Pao (??) - I can't remember if it's this dish that I got, but it was some type of Thai rice dish with a meat sauce. It was so terrible, I only ate 10% of it and didn't take it to go. 1/5 Pad thai - I didn't try it but my friend got it and the color looked really off. Aside from the food, there are other improvements to be made here. It seems like a family-run restaurant, with only two workers facing the customers. It's really hard to get their attention when the restaurant is busy. The space is very tight and looks like it could be more well-maintained. They also need more menus. Hard to share just one with the whole table.
