At the risk of being murdered by my wife for this, 4 stars is all this place deserves. The atmosphere is nice, the decor is modern and clean, the staff are great and courteous and mostly efficient even when serving a big group. I got to try the Watermelon and Fetta, the deviled eggs and the Chicken Mousse. They were nice, but just OK. This fell on its face perhaps because of the expectations that were set on it beforehand. I was told that the chef used to work at Boca so naturally I was excited to have that eyes-rolled-back-moaning-in-public experience, but for brunch. Unfortunately it fell short. Not short by much, but the combinations were trendy and predictable. Any chef coming out of Boca should be bold and innovative. Think Jackson Pollock handing you an Ikea piece. I will say everything was fresh and well made, I was just disappointed in the lack of risk taking. Having just had a vacation in Paris, I was instantly intrigued by the menu of affordable but upscale bistro style offerings like foie gras and steak tartare. Yet, when we arrived for an early-ish dinner, I ended up with a burger. A plain...old...burger. But you see, I appreciate a good sandwich above all else. A perfectly built one where each bite has a bit of everything. And dear god, what a piece of perfection this burger was. The single burger is actually two patties with two cheese slices (American). A perfect ratio. Chopped onions versus rings of onions meaning you don't accidentally pull whole pieces out, ruining the overall composition. (I told you I was serious) House made pickles sliced almost paper thin and carefully laid out with the slightest overlap covering the FULL extent of the burger. A delicious toasted bun. A mustard mayo squeezed in a careful criss-cross pattern for an even coating. On paper, it's a standard ordinary burger down to the American cheese. But it IS perfection. The fries? Fresh and slightly crispy and thin and oh so perfect. I did enjoy the cheese sauce. My only complaint? I would LOVE to dip those fries in some BBQ sauce but I don't think they have any on site. But damn, that sounds really good in my mind. I was supposed to taste my husband's fancy hash browns. But I fell in love with my food. So I wouldn't let him touch mine. And he preferred I didn't touch his. Not wanting a cocktail, I got fresh lemonade in an ice cold glass. I freaking love good lemonade. A simple meal really and a bit higher price range for the portions, but totally worth it for the attention to detail. It wasn't busy at the time and we were in and out in 45 minutes. I think our waitress was a little worried that we rushed out but we had taken our time. This place is absolutely fantastic. No other way to put it. Came in on a Saturday night at 6:15, was sat at the kitchen bar which was cool because I had the chance to see how the cooks function with the head chef/owner directing the show. They run a very efficient and well organized kitchen, which I appreciated because it led to fast service times and quality presentation. We had the crispy chicken with sauces, the double cheeseburger w/ maple glazed pork belly, and then sides of both fries and hash browns. The cheeseburger is probably the best burger I've had in the city and was absolutely delicious. The crispy chicken was unique because it has almost a tempura style batter; which I ended up loving. The fries and hash browns were tasty; nothing overly unique. By the way, we received our bill at about 6:45. Service was ultra fast without sacrificing any sort of quality. I ordered the cheeseburger with the pork belly and egg just to see what all the fuss was about and my god it was amazing, I can see why this place would be a good place to go after a long night of drinking. If it's your first time here definitely get the burger and fries with a cocktail to finish it off. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food except for me, which might be a me problem, but the dry and vaguely flavorless burger I ordered left me with no desire to return any time soon. We tried to tell our wonderful waiter that we didn't like the food but for some reason he didn't take us seriously. That might be because our plates were so clean that they didn't look like there had ever been food on them. Make sure you try the pork rinds, who knew that pork rinds could be that amazing. I had the steak tartare frites, my husband had Korean chicken and the rest of our party had burgers. As I said above, the food was amazing! The interior of the restaurant is really neat, including the very cool bathrooms. The kitchen is clearly visible to everyone and I always think that is interesting to watch. Stopped in to check it out over the weekend. Didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The Espresso machine and reel-to-reel set the mood. Such a nice space. We got the Salt Roasted Beets and the Shrimp Fries. The portion of the beets was okay, and they were so good. I wanted more, but you know... The Herb Sauce on the fries was WONDERFUL!!! This patio is I felt like I was in another city. I went with 2 other girls for dinner. The food is super hearty which I think they're going for the diner vibe so that makes sense. We were so excited to try this place. I was particularly psyched for the Korean Fried Chicken. So I convinced the husband unit to go out! We each ordered a cocktail- I got a martini- it was wonderful. My husband got the old fashioned, he liked it but did not enjoy the Smokey essence that it had and ended up deciding it wouldn't be a repeat. But personal taste. We started with the deviled eggs and the chicken liver mousse. Delish! The chicken liver in particular was fabulous!!!! Husband got the burger- he enjoyed it but did say the amount of finely chopped red onion was over whelming, would recommend asking for a partial serving. I off course ordered the Korean Fried Chicken. I was disappointed- but here is why- I was expecting friend Chicken with Korean sauce. Which is how our waitress described the dish. When t came out, I got several nugget sized pieces of chicken that were friend in what seemed like a tempura batter. It lacked seasoning and the chicken was dry inside theme batter. I do not think I would have let down if it was described as tempura battered nuggets. That said- overall a good experience. We want to go back and try different dishes. The service is as wonderful!! This was about my 4th or 5th time to Sacred Best. For starters, the place has a great vibe, the music was enjoyable and the acoustics are spot on. I appreciate being able to hear the person sitting next to me. I sat at the bar to watch Sunday football and noticed they have a ton of beer on tap (I was told 17 beers, plus a rose, prosecco and a cab). The food is fantastic. I especially love the hash browns, (served with kimchi ketchup). The maple glazed pork belly is fun. Definitely try the fluffy omelets and cheese burgers. I look forward to seeing what new items hit the menu in the fall. I think the restaurant is still so new it hasn't totally ironed out their food identity. Sprinkled with finely chopped red onions, layered with thinly sliced crisp pickles all gently placed on top of a thick moist square hash brown. This restaurant is very modern inside and out. I love the sleek, clean yet simple look they have. You can see the entire kitchen and how the food is prepared so there is nothing to hide. It feels like a very elegant spot yet at the same time very chill. The food is absolutely amazing. I went simple with the single cheeseburger and the fries and they definitely surprised me. The burger had a dill sauce that was sooooo good and the fries had a Mornay dipping sauce out of this world. The staff is so friendly and great, they made the experience even better. The only thing I dislike about it is the location because there is no parking. We had to park in a garage and walk there. It hit all the points I'd been hoping for when I made the reservation: Eclectic neighborhood, great ambiance, really friendly staff and great food and drink. We started with some small plates, our favorites of which were the Shrimp & Fries (think poutine with shrimp), Foie Gras, deviled eggs, all superb. For entrees we had the Korean fried chicken (good), diner breakfast (excellent), omelette with goat cheese and roasted red peppers (excellent) and a triple decker burger with pork belly and horseradish (extraordinary).
